Disclaimer: I started playing this game when The Grand Tournament came out. I have never experienced Classic in its prime.
What does everyone think of Classic Mode so far? Personally, I think it's fun. Or it was at first. I have a lot of the cards for all of the meta decks, so I got to try out everything I wanted to. In my opinion, what it does right is supply a nice feeling of nostalgia. It's nice to be able to experience what many initial players got to when this game first dropped. I will say it isn't fully immersive due to the ability to use newer Hero Skins, but I can't complain about that. I also like the lack of Discover and the game heavily relying on RNG as a whole. My only major complaint is that it kind of feels like a Tavern Brawl in the sense that options are very limited, and you will be playing against the same core cards under the same gimmick every game. At this point in time, it almost makes every game somewhat predictable. I'm sure the novelty will rub off for many sooner than later. Overall, I think it was nice of them to add this feature in the game, and I look forward to potential Classic updates in the future.
I was looking forward to it and wanted to play Noxious old Randuin Wrynn deck, if someone remembers that. I played 3 games and all games were against the same aggro hunter decklist that completely destroyed me. Now I am back to battlegrounds :-P
Its cool but in general yeah is good for nostalgia and thats it. If you are tire of the actual ladder this "kind of" a refreshing ladder until the new expansion comes. I dont know how they can update Classic because the thing about classic is that "is outdated" because you want to play old decks vs old decks. I cant imagine something more to add except other limited formats from X to Y expansions which is probably pointless in some degree.
It's nice to reminisce, but it's very boring. There is no versatility. I was here since the beginning. You can't that much with the mode. It's gonna be like Duels. Tumbleweeds.
Yea i remembered the good old days of pure Hs. I enjoy the mode, the decks are still fun so many year after and the Random Bs is minimal or none. No Huge highrolls on turn 2 or 3 and you lose the game instantly or Random Yogs and Boxes and the Rest of annoying things. I think the people who were playing HS since the start will like and support this mode.
Anyway I guess we have to wait and see what actually happens to this mode.
stopped playing after a few games due to savage roar/force of nature ptsd (it's real, that shit was around for waaay too long and back when defensive options were much weaker).
I have been playing Hearthstone since almost its launch and will probably play this game mode for weeks until I can afford some pretty good Standard decks again. So far, it has been a lot of fun for me. :)
It's quite fun, reminds me of how tactical minion combat was then. It almost feels like arena except everyone has some 10+ damage charge finisher in the locker.
Ye, it will live for a week, then people will go back to their other modes. Looking at some of these older cards, god how broken they were, even compaired to today cards! This means the card choice is even more limited in classic.

Good old times.
Decks are straight forward. you generally know who is playing what and not that much random bullshit

I wouldn’t play it if it wasn’t for the achievements, but maybe I’ll get into it if control decks are viable.
Take a walk on the wild side...
Just BHGed a Mountain Giant, feels like home man

Fun for about two games
