The only reason any deck besides Miracle Rogue was in the Classic-era meta is because Miracle Rogue was still being refined until well after Naxx came out (and by that time it had Undertaker Hunter as competition).
Classic Mode, at least at the competitive levels, will be a boring Miracle Rogue fiesta.
Played only a few games so far, as I need to grind out Legend on Standard first (kind of silly they allowed for Classic Ranked Season to begin this late, seems exploitable to me but alright). Really enjoyed it, hope the mode remains this lively but I know this is just a temporary spike before the nostalgia crowd leaves or the expansion comes. That said I think people saying this will be a dead mode in a month are also exaggerating. The mode might not beat Standard or BGs but there will always be plenty of players to find a match quickly and that is the main thing that matters.
My games were fun too, I made three decks. First I ran a wallet warrior into a face hunter, guy quit in exasperation at about turn 8 :D Then a miracle rogue into a druid, guy was totally outclassed, almost felt bad. And finally my freeze mage into aggro warrior, was the closest game but ultimately I had too much defense for him to match.

People tend to over-dramatize new modes in games like this, as they are afraid their chosen mode will leak players.
I don't think anyone is expecting Classic to keep a playerbase as large as Standard or Battlegrounds, but as long as there is a community that enjoys it, let it be.
The work has been done, Blizzard does not need to do anything else to maintain it.

You could be right. I think people are just too pessimistic coupled with wanting to jump on the "duels are a failure" bandwagon.
That said I think Classic will have more appeal than people think, being less RNG, lower power level, slower, more tactical etc appeals to people beyond mere nostalgia. Now being forever static will probably cancel that out for most people. However if Classic were to receive mini-sets of its own that follow this spirit of lower power, less RNG, etc I could see this Mode absolutely thriving. I suppose time will tell ;)

Yeah there is certainly a niche that Classic can fulfill which other modes do not.
Personally, Wild will remain my main mode, as it has done since its introduction. But Classic will be a nice fall-back when wanting to play something a bit more straight-forward.
You can really tell by playing Classic that Hearthstone was meant to be a mobile game. Something which I think it has shifted from in recent years.
Most of my Wild decks I wouldn't want to play without a deck tracker.
Wow, just like Standard! And Wild! And the primary constructed modes of any card game. It's almost like metas exist in most of these spaces and the primary skills involved in maneuvering them involve either mastering the subtle differences in play to a greater degree, or finding enough of a pocket meta to abuse with a surprise choice of deck. Who knew?
I played a lot more games since then. I think both times I started with two stars, not sure if that copying my Wild MMR or everyone started like that? The competition is pretty fierce and meta on all levels, even running a silly Molten Giants Charge warrior at 10S I was running into meta stuff, though maybe they were farmers? Unlikely, probably just everyone knows what is best and has the cards for it.
I kind of expected that so no complaints here. I am probably going to stuck around in Silver playing fun decks for a season or two before grinding on.

Idk about the MMR, but everyone started without a single bonus star, and likely the same scrublevel MMR as well. It takes time for the top players to separate themselves, so climbing the beginning will be a huge bottleneck.
Later, I will expect mainly the same decks, but I think I have started to see my opponents doing more rookie mistakes already.
It feels refreshing that you can count on the minions in the deck to be the only ones, not like big priest which can turn 4 defensive minions into 100...

I wouldn't play a single Classic game if it wasn't for the (likely) achievements.
Take a walk on the wild side...
When will it drop the patch :D ?
In less than an hour!
Edit: unless you are on mobile!!
It hit, can't wait to dive in!

Played a few games and it’s great being able to breathe a little, it just feels far more enjoyable and less stressful to play.
However it feels bare (which I expected) as a lot of interesting cards and mechanics have released since then, so deck creation is really flat.

is there any different about classic ranked ladder rewards? we are still getting one chest per month right??
Correct, you will get one chest based on your best rank from Classic, Wild or Standard ladder.
So far I have seen 3 different decks without any single variation in over 50 games.
Waste of development time.
Nobody is forcing you to play anything , I enjoy it allot and will be playing it from time to time for years to come ;)
