With Secret Mage around, there is no sense in playing wild. I tried today, after 1 month of break from wild, but its unbearable.
They should think about an 1.5 Extended Format, where you can play a selection of lets say 6 wild sets. Otherwise the whole collection is worth nothing. Especially now, when your Classic cards are not worth a lot anymore.
Not the first topic complaining about secret mage. Yes it’s annoying, no, it’s not unbearable. There are ways to beat it if you play around secrets well and know how to counter it. I personally am more frustrated by hyper-aggro lists like discard warlock, pirate warrior, and token druid.
i dont understand why ppl complain about balance in wild. It's never gonna be balanced just like any other CCG/TCG. Look at magic, its even worse there's infinite loops to kill people and stuff like that.
It's not about winning against Secret Mage, it's about playing like 85% of all matches against them... That's what i mean. It's an horribly frustrating deck to play against.
There are fun decks that play well against secret mage while not being at a huge disadvantage when playing other decks. I personally find it enjoyable to play against Secret Mage because they are very predictable for the most part, yet still a challenge. Also, you should be able to see a lot more versatility in Casual mode. I personally find Warlocks annoying to play against, but they'll lose enough to the decks I can win against to ensure I'm not constantly playing against them. If I'm not concerned about purely winning, I can have a good deal of fun in Casual Wild
Not quite, Vintage and Legacy are currently and have been for quite some time the most balanced formats. While Standard and Modern are burning to the ground every single season. The problem of wild is the lack of tools to fight hyper aggro and combo. In MTG you can Thoughtseize their combo pieces, Force of Will their busted stuff, Tax greedy cards, Sword to Plowshares as a universal catch all removal. While here you get to Loatheb once on turn 5, Dirty Rat attempts and everyone is capped at 30 life, no overhealing, making healing cards worse because you can get their full value all the time, only when you were damaged.
The problem isn't even secret mage, but rather the holy trinity of Raza priest, Big priest and secret mage. This 3headed monster holds a stranglehold of the meta, as no deck has a decent wirate against all 3.

False. I have an amazing winrate against both priest archetypes AND a decent winrate against secret mage with my mill rogue deck. Main weaknesses are pirate warrior, odd rogue, and token druid.

I never came up aganist a Raza Priest. But that's maybe because I'm Gold 5 only.

What you guys think of wild right now?

Yeah right, but why don't they introduce a format -- where you have a selection of 6 sets, instead of all wild sets.
Because that's basically just legacy standard and would defeat the purpose of playing wild.
You could mix sets, you don't have to take the exact same constellation as already known.
so then the choice of sets would be arbitrary and not actually be helpful to balancing at all, it would just create different broken decks to emerge.
It would improve the players personal collection experience and make the game more diverse, which is always good.

Hmm, why don't you just switch to any anti-mage deck.. ^_^

Well, As long as Priest remains dominant in wild, I will never complain about secret mage.

Ez solution, dust old cards, craft standard cards, play standard. More or less balanced, frequent meta shifts. To hell with wild, let past be past
As long as priest is a good deck in wild secret mage is a blessing.
