I am missing midrange rather. Everything is either Aggro, OTK or Tickatus. No one plays stuff and fights for board. Really hoping for decks like Beast Hunter, Dude Paladin and (Midrange) Weapon Rogue to emerge after the rotation.
Sure you're right, there aren't a lot of control decks left besides that Tickatus nonsense. But I'm still seeing some Bomb Warriors and Control Priests. Unfortunately, the former is another deck that only plays solitaire.
If you're willing to give Duels a try, Priest and Warlock are quite capable of going with a control-based playstyle there. If you'd like me to add you as a friend, I could even watch you and give you tips.
Tikakus is the reason Control is not attractive anymore.
Next rotation will be the same.Tikatus for another year, and Warlock even got another auto win card in Control matchup thats buffed Jarraxus. I really want to stay away from aggro but I do not have any choice.
Tickatus is in like 4% of decks right now. I do think he'll become a problem next rotation, especially with upgraded jaraxxus running around, but I hardly see him as being the only reason control isn't popular currently.
He has low winrate because most of the deck are his hard counter which is aggro. The moment the meta shift toward control he will be 40% of the decks
And why ppl play aggro? Other than fast laddering, they do not want tikakus to spoil their fun.
1. A class card being in 40% of all decks on ladder is not happening, now or ever. If you think otherwise, you're dumb, simple as that.
2. Do you have actual statistics to actually back up the bs you say or are you just conjuring these things out of your arse?
No point answering, it's obvious that it's all out of your arse, no one can have any kind of proof that """ppl dunt play kntrol coz tikatus BAAAAHHHHHDDD""". Kind reminder, the 20 people roaming around this website aren't in any way, shape or form representative of the majority of hs players (they're not representative of anything other than the most hardcore whales, tbh and even then the number is too low to actually be representative).
As to why people play aggro? Because aggro is (always has been) one of the best and fastest archetypes on ladder. People play aggro because it wins a lot and it wins quickly. Sure there might be exactly 3 or 4 people who "play aggro because tickatus too mean" or some similar nonsense, but 99.9% of people who play aggro play it for entirely different reasons. And I find it immensely laughable that people who play control decide to play the exact opposite of control because of one card. Like, "let's not try to do something else that's also control nope, immediately turn to the most cancerous aggro deck out there because I love playing control too much"...???? I love playing combo but it's not like as soon as a dirty rat hits I'm like "yeah fuck combo, I'll go play secret mage or kingsbane", what fucking kind of sense does that make.

So you don't consider enrage warrior, libroom paladin, pure paladin, ramp paladin, treant druid, ramp druid, fel DH or Whirlkick rogue as mid-range decks? Sounds like some slow ass aggro decks you're facing then...

Pen Flinger Paladin is an abomination, not a deck, and I say that as a Paladin main. I love Pure Paladin, but I'm not seeing that much of it lately and it looks like it can't handle the top tier decks. Treant Druid is an aggro deck in my opinion as well as I consider Ramp Druid a control deck. You're right about Ramp Paladin, Whirlkick Rogue, and Fel DH, but I haven't seen the former two often lately and the latter basically never.
Surely it depends on when and where you play. My impression was as described.

When I use a control deck, I get matched up with 80% of those 4% of decks with Tickatus.......
I am always trying to find a way to play Archivist Elysianna in a deck that actually wins. Its just not possible. You can play control, but only in very limited ways ( highlander mage, rezz priest, galakrond warlock). I want to play more fatigue games, but that hasn't been a reality since like Boomsday

I see a fair share of pure paladin. I was on the edge with ramp druid, but it'll probably go as control in the end. With all the rouges I can imagine that it'll feel very aggro at times, but overall I feel a lot mid game swing turn focus. When we had all the aggro demon hunters it was definitely a lot more favorable to play defensive control decks, but well, I don't need to fly fuck it completely I guess :)

If you play a control deck and get dicked on by a few Stealth Rogues you'll likely start to see more Warlock decks as your MMR rating drops and you enter into a vicious cycle. HSReplay stats which people love to quote never tell a full story.
Tickatus is a problem for control, but the way the meta has been for a while now is just extremely oppressive for any deck that cannot kill their opponent (or destroy their deck) before turn 8.
ever since discover was introduced aswell as jade idol there has not been any control decks... these value creation type cards needs to poof as reno would put it, the value of a deck needs to be finite and when it is not it ruins the dynamic of the control / combo / midrange / aggro state of the game
control is dead and another achetype has taken its place "stall" which is as it sound, the win conduction is to just don't die...
the biggest issue with hearthstone is value not being finite and it could all be fix'd rather simply with having discover being over prized (have to pay extra for how flexible it is, basically a tempo drop for flexibility) they dont need to remove all these discover cards even tho they are horrible design they just need to raise the price of them so they are more or less unplayable in aggro decks

Ceterum censeo classum magi esse delendam.
You are not alone, we all miss good control fights. Caring about fatigue. I havent played a single ranked since DH addition, only bg.

You must be playing some other game, so many control decks are in the ladder at the moment.
