I’m aware you can AFK in current modes for XP without a bot or script, but I’m curious what an entire game mode would look like? (Please don’t derail as a hate thread, this is a genuine curiosity of mine)
I bring this up because I used to like to play games like Rollercoaster Tycoon and Sims whilst doing other stuff and just slow down the speed when I got busy, or just wanted to eat some dinner/scroll the web while tuning in and out of the random life of a NPC.
Hearthstone has some great creative flavor in boards, characters, and cards and I was wondering how you would implement these in a mode that essentially plays itself.(Even more-so than BGs)
To me, I’d see it as something random but fun. Perhaps a multi-class draft. You can pick a certain number cards from 2-3 classes and a hero power, and the rest are drafted either in buckets or individual cards like arena. You build a deck and then submit it and the game is automated for both players from then on. It would be cool to have crazy overpowered combos from multiple classes, but since it’s a little random and completely automated there’s not really room to get salty. The rewards will be minimal and play will be free or something minimal like 5-10 coins but will last an hour to a couple hours and in return you get XP slightly to a little above what you’re spending. Perhaps you could even just tune in for some rewards and watch like a participant in the arena.
I’m sure there are other ways to do this that are even more creative than what I’m saying so I wanted to ask the forums what they would do to make a mode that allowed you to watch it like television, or be able to leave and come back to.
I don’t care if Blizzard will never agree to it, I just want to hear what you personally would enjoy if you’re like me and like to play games while aloof.
The only reason I find this idea at all reasonable is if they ever want to make a new mode with real multiclass or perhaps 2v2, they could use the computing power of their clientele to balance a proper 2v2 or make certain predictions. But my knowledge in this area is rather limited so I am talking a bit out of my butt.
They could probably work some afk aspect into the mercenaries mode they will add this year. Would make sense, as a lot of hero collectors have an afk aspect
