I have noticed that in some matches they give me the same cards when I mulligan, it is quite frustrating to try to fight if they will always give me the same cards in a specific order and pray for luck. The same is also true for bosses that have a sequence.
In the second confrontation I had to try more than 5 times because if I spent resources on minions I would not have damage to kill him but I would kill his hero power minions because sometimes he would get 6/5 or 5/4. Cho'Gall is also that horrible boss because when he dropped you to 18 or less health your deck is full of meh demons, a third of minions were trash, some decent minions and only 7 or 8 minions had good statistics to block C ' Thun on turn 11. And finally the shadows that can only be destroyed with a poisoned knife juggler and the one that destroys a random minion, why do they put synergies with weapons if they cannot be destroyed with the spell that destroys your weapon and deals equivalent damage enemy minions? Has no sense.
And the worst thing is that they will continue to make another book but about mercenaries, if they use this format it will be very tedious and boring with cards that do not make sense to put or a forced plan.
How the fuck did you won against Cho'Gall? That idiot is impossible!
I would tell you if I could get there...LOL!
I'm currently 0-10 vs. Garona. I had one game where I got her down to 2 HP w/ a Taunt minion on the board. She Sapped it and dealt lethal. This shit is getting old!
Garona HP weapon should not give double damage only double damage on attack, taking 12 damage on turn 2 is getting old
That's the problem with every Blizzard PvE fight. They're either laughably easy cause the AI is so terrible and keeps doing Bronze 10 plays over and over OR it's a dumb scripted battle where the enemy has an specific combination of cards instead of feeling like a game where your opponent naturally draws the cards and they win cause they are "more intelligent". It's a terrible case of artificial difficulty.
I agree with most of the comments, Valeera's book is scripted, its seems more like a puzzle game in that you need to find the correct mulligan and moment to play the fixed cards you have, instead of a true fight.
Is true that the first adventures are more fun, since they're real challenge and that you can make your own deck.
Still, this is something different, if you don't like it, don't play it, is free after all.
Are people really having trouble with this elementary solitaire? The only one that was an even remote challenge was the last one and even then it gave you all the tools literally in order, you just have to sequence it right. And the lore is flavorful and cool, never mind it being free
I actually liked the last boss in rouge, most fights are play all your cards and go face. (Curve stone) however last fight is more like a puzzel. (where you win if you give juggler poiseness to kill the last 2)

I have to agree, the last one is not that bad. I had at least some fun figuring out the correct sequencing (and still died to RNG once, when the poisonous Pen Flinger went face twice out of three hits).
But the two before are outright stupid. Against Cho Gall you need a lot of luck. In my first two attempts I didn't even get a Voidlord in the second phase. Against Garona you need to make some kind of stupid plays. I mean, not playing your 1-drop in turn 1 to have it as an activator for Wand Thief afterwards to then get Mirror Image hopefully? Who would play like that without knowing the script for this exact fight?
Oh you guys seriously didn't just sweep through the whole thing in first try? You must be some real newbie aggro players :P
Kidding! I think I needed 3 tries on at least three of these challenges ;)
Definitely more "puzzle" feeling in this one and less space for creativity. The scripting was very apparent here. Not sure if the other books where the same, since they didn't require as many retries. I think this book is a prime example of what a paradox it is to make a difficult card game experience without too much luck involved. Without the deckbuilding aspect, you're either left with a scripted card puzzle or a dice game. The last books were criticized for being too easy, with a dice roll that outright kills you on 1/10 situations. No challenge just... dumb I guess. This time we lost that HS "playing with the odds" vibe and got a card puzzle, with little logic in how to get to that winning scenario. Cho Gal seemed impossible until I somehow found the right mulligan + bait plays + lucky summons to pull it off. Seems like the book of heroes is a very limited concept.
After you replay a couple of battles and realize that your deck is order is more or less fixed and you know your draws in advance it becomes a bit easier.
For Garona: Keep full hand in mulligan, save cheap activators if possible for later turns, on t6 play the Scimitar and draw 2 cards for 1 mana with Cutting Class, but DON'T BUFF THE WEAPON! Next turn you draw your Spectral Cutlass and you want to equip it and buff its attack as fast as you can to stay alive. Also save all your cards from other classes (including the pick from Wand Thief) for after equipping Spectral Cutless. Once you have a 7/3 lifesteal weapon the match is effectively over.
Chogall is trickier. Late in the game you will topdeck this 6/6 that adds 3 cards you've discarded back to your hand. So play around the enemy hero power accordingly to more or less tutor what cards you will get back in order to maximize burn. Eviscerate for example is one card you want to let it be discarded (as you can't combo it early anyway) to have some late game burn. Apart from that, you need to get some luck with the Self-Shaprening Sword (get the +2 attack buff on it as early as possible) and a lot of luck with the random demons you summon. Finally don't overextend on t8 where he will cast Twisting Nether.
Last boss as mentioned above, save Knife Juggler, the spell that gives him poisonous and 2 cheap minions for the end when the last 2 shadows are played
its like Brawl, totally boring and lame, but you do it weekly for that 1 pack and its free2 play. If you would have other things to do, well go out there! Its a game.
This ENTIRE solo mode has been embarrassingly lame. Boring, scripted, predictable so that the idea of multiple plays is laughable. What a joke. Compare this to Dungeon Run, Monster Hunt, Dalaran Heist, or Tombs of Terror and one has to conclude they have farmed out the design to a clueless bunch of noobs who need to go back to their day job.
Either you breeze through the fights or you end up banging your head against the wall because your deck is average while their deck is perfectly built to wreck yours combined with an absurdly overpowered hero power. I really haven't encountered any in between.
For example, playing through Rexxar's and Lady Darkscale was horseshit, the first 4 times I couldn't keep a minion on the board since she kept wiping all of mine every one of her turns. I finally had the stars align where she didn't draw all her spells and I was able to build a board an win just to get stuck on Daelin where I can't win because I either use all my cards killing warships so the board doesn't get out of hand, or I try and burn him down before I get overwhelmed by everything his ships summon. So far the worst was when I got him down to 5 health only to top-deck a bunch of secrets that require minions and his warship summoned two minions with windfury and lifelink. And that "Eye of the Storm" spell can go fuck itself. One attempt he literally cast it 3 turns in a row. Your deck is not built to handle 9 5/6 taunts on top of everything else.

P.S Sorry my bad english
That last fight is so BS, either u find out in what order u have to play what card, or u loose, great design!
After taking 3 hours to complete that shit, I cant even open the pack! haha what else can you expect from Hearthstone?

have not even played the last 2 cuz the first was such a slog. I love free cards but 40 dust just aint worth it.

Favorite Book or Heroes so far ! Fights are challenging and fun at the same time.
The last fight is a great puzzle to solve and despite many noobs are whinning about, the script is a requirement for this.

I just liked the book of heroes for the lore.
Gameplay wise though, it was kinda scripted and boring.

if they were gonna make it a puzzle then they coulda gave us a puzzle lab 2.0 that was my fave solo player in hs

It's hot garbage.
Perfectly evocative of the current state of the game.

0/10, wouldn't recommend.
