So, does anyone remember demonic project breaking the game? No? Than this combo definetely won't
Demonic project is a completely different and trash, RNG, game losing standalone card that disrupts your own hand. This comparison is totally unfair and irrelevant.
Basic mechanic in card games is that removed card in your deck is less important than removed card in your hand since games are rarely go into fatigue mode, you just do not draw all the cards from your deck anyway. Yes, it sucks when they burn an important card, but the fact is that it is just equal as if you simply do not draw it.You just now know that you will not draw it, that's the only difference. And on top of that there is a card advantage mechanic which counts only cards in your hand.
Bruh, burning that card is completely useless against every other deck archetype except combo decks, and combo decks *do* need to draw almost if not all of their cards. Why do you even care about burning a card against midrange or control? You don't. The only reason to ever try to snipe a burn is against combo.
This is a SEVEN MANA combo that removes ONE SINGLE MINION. In what world is this problematic?
In the world of a game which heavily relies on minions for win conditions for the greatest percentage of decks. Wonder what game that might be. Something beginning with "Hearthst....."?
And your comment kind of shows you don't see what this combo actually does. It removes 2 minions, not one. And it also only costs 5 mana, with the discounts mentioned above.
incorrect sir. if you have to play another card earlier to discount the demons, then your talking about a multi turn, mutiple card combo. This isnt very bad compared to what Tickatus does. Also, brewmaster might not be in the core set.
I still love how those who act like gnomeferatu is weaker than this card always see the "perfect scenario". Yeah, gnomeferatu is random, you don't know what you discard and it could be anything (minion, spell, weapon, hero card). So what? Does that mean jailer will discard that one key minion? Not even close. Dirty rat kinda had the same effect (minions only) and people easily played around him by keeping more minions in hand. There is also the chance your opponent won't have that key minion you need to discard in their hand. As long as you don't know their hand you pretty much pray to hit the right card, same thing for gnomeferatu but please keep going with your logical, perfect answers.
You realize people could already do this with tickatus, and yet, nobody does?
You realize that's because there is a cheaper 1-mana option which literally every Tickatus deck does, which does the same thing for.. wait... 7 mana...? But a 7-mana combo with 2 cards is apparently terrible in some newer players' eyes. Lol Curious...
... you are comparing felospophy to brewmaster? Give me a break. Leaving an 8/8 on board is hmmm. A lot better than a 3/2. I meant that nobody runs brewmaster in a tickatus deck. Btw, Tickatus is 10x better than this new card, so I was only making a hyperbole, and yet you still manage to sound clueless.

Gnomeferatu only fits in a fatigue deck, or as a tech against a deck that goes to fatigue, as the card does literally nothing unless your opponents are going to fatigue.
Outside of these situations, some games it will discard a key card, other times it will discard a useless card, pushing your opponent one draw closer to something they need. This means that over a large number of games the card is literally just a 2 mana 2/3.
To add to the last post, combo decks (fairly) often need to go to fatigue in order to collect all of their necessary cards. So Gnomeferatu will naturally be more effective against them than decks that on average finish with 10 cards left in the deck. Theoretically the later - on average - a deck goes before it can win, the better Gnomeferatu will be against it.
For decks that never go to fatigue the card’s effect will sometimes benefit you (by discarding a good card for their situation) and will sometimes benefit your opponent (by discarding a bad card for their situation).

No. Please go back and read it again. There’s that reading comprehension issue raising its head again. Speaking of sounding clueless... thats not a good look when you hurl insults while doing exactly what you are accusing people of. Lol.
There is a word for that actually. Hyper.... hypo... hyppa... Something....

My god you guys are so toxic.. The op is being respectful and reasonable, says things like "it SEEMS problematic TO ME", can't you just tell him why you think he's wrong ?
I like how everyone thinks of himself as a great card evaluator but in reality every expansion we are horribly wrong about most cards, we think we learn to be more accurate every expansion but in reality game mechanics and cards combinations evolve much faster than our ability to review them.
I don't see this particular combo as being problematic, but I can absolutely see a world where someone makes Felsoul Jailer problematic in some way or another. If you can make copies of it, silence it or whatever, it can quickly become a crazy anti-control/anti-combo card.
Comparison with tickatus is also unfair, the reason you don't brewmaster tickatus is because you can felosophy it instead, and also because it already costs 13 mana to corrupt and play. And it burns cards from the deck, essentially having 0 immediate impact in exchange for bigger impact later in the game. Felsoul jailer has immediate, potentially massive impact if he burns the right card, so brewmaster makes more sense.
In the grand scheme of things, it's like Tickatus, never going to be problematic because Hearthstone will always be an aggro driven game, but i'm positive a lot of hearthstone toxic members and great card reviewers are going to cry a river because Felsoul discarded their wincondition and they couldn't get back the card in time.
Agreed, it shows the state of the forums when everytime someone puts something people don't agree with and it becomes a hivemind of people snarking and bullying and getting their self satisfying little pathetic jabs in from the safety of behind their own screen. What do mods do about it? Nothing.
That's the Hearthstone community in a nutshell. This game seems to attract a lot of the introverted, socially awkward, angry, basement dweller types, who are incapable of meaningful discussion. Any kind of disagreement, no matter the topic, usually results in unnecessary ad hominem attacks. Anything critical is automatically written off as whining by a large majority of this player base. I honestly have no clue why most players even browse the forums, since no topic is ever actually worth discussing in their minds.
Hearthpwn for the past 5 years. I bet most of this toxic people can’t even handle past Gold rank and think that they opinion even matters when discussing cards or interactions lol
You're aware that more often than not this pulls a huge minion onto the board and loses you the game, right? There's a reason Dirty Rat didn't get played much when it was around. There's a HUUUUUGE difference between forcing a player to discard a card and letting him play it for free on your own turn so it can go face the next turn, lol! You know the more I think about this card the funnier it gets and the more that I can't believe you actually tried to use him as an example of a better option! Haha!

Oooorrrr... you could just run removal alongside dirty rat instead of a brewmaster. Like warlock, priest, and warrior do in wild. Dirty rat still sees a ton of play in wild to this day, so not sure what you’re talking about.

He is talking about the meta breaking "7 mana discard 1 card"

Ooh! Where did I ever say it was "meta breaking", "broken", or "game changing"? Go on. I'll wait... XDDD
I still cannot believe the lad hasn’t just held his hands up and admitted his initial reaction to the 2 card, 7 mana meta breaker was a little overboard.
Alright, folks, quit the sniping please, and stay on topic. If you have nothing to add regarding the discussion, then avoid commenting. Direct insults will be removed / warned.

This card along with tickatus is pretty bad for the meta. Hearthstone devolves into a rock-paper-scissors kind of game.
Do that a couple of times, and YOU are dead, not your opponent.
Laughs in Dirty Rat
I love you Dreadsteed, I will never disenchant you!
