Not sure why you even ask this. I would rather see less controversies than asking what more we could have. But then again, I don't like coffee either. Different tastes and all.
Also, I'm not sure how I feel about this topic. It feels a bit like you want to ridicule any sort of complaint, like "what are the never happy trolls gonna bring up this time?". Sure, some might seem silly (as Tickatus) but I could imagine people getting upset about too many bugs, if they become too frequent, which I think would actually be serious.
But whatever... that thought just crossed my mind and I already wrote the rest of this, so I might as well proceed.
Obvious issue, as always, will be "balance", starting with 90% of people not even having an idea of what they actually mean with balance. The expansion is either way too powerful, or way too weak, the meta either changing not at all or some Druid/Shaman/Warlock whatever deck is "broken" again, and should have never been made, and was "obviously" not tested at all, and needs to get nerfed immediately. Something about "aggro" or "otk" being "braindead" will "ruin the game" again for sure, as we are about to have "the worst meta ever" like every other expansion. But that's about as predictable as sunrise.
Obviously, some people won't like the core set for some reason. Shaman being too weak, Druid too strong, Demon Hunter too existing, and Rogue not even having full board clears and healing. And people are going to act like the Core Set is the new Classic that's gonna be around forever. I fully expect comments like "this is clearly limiting design space".
Someone will probably be mad about Duels changing, with new Heroes getting new requirements to unlock hero powers and such. But then again, it's Duels, so it won't be a very hot topic.
To make a more spicy prediction: I could imagine some big monetization in Mercenaries, and people won't like it, like selling individual mercenaries/characters to unlock for the mode.
Then again, the discussions will always be the same anyway: "Don't like it, don't play it", "Blizzard is a company, and companies are supposed to make money", and some "greedy" and "entitled" sprinkled in there somewhere.
Maybe that's why I don't find the topic that interesting. These issues always always get cooked so long, until you have the same few lines remaining on the bottom of the pot, so each controversy has the same taste and flavor, kind of like fast food: too much fat, too much salt.
I'm not going to suggest anything you said is wrong Dunscott, but we've never really needed a reason to speculate on any other part of an expansion. Frankly, I take it as equally certain there will be some new baseless complaint subject as I do that there will be a new keyword, so speculation for its own sake is as pointless or meaningful as a gaming forum in general.
As for Zeddy, he's still in sycophant mode because he doesn't know what mock-controversy to follow yet. His last complaint video was straight off the "what's the point in playing 5 or more cost cards" thread from this forum.
Grats on being a model. Probably more difficult than being a lawyer. Not sure why everyone makes an issue of that; it's as noteworthy or not as any other white collar job, but I'll keep responding to random comments about it as long as someone continues them.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
People always seem to cry about something. We could simply ignore them, but the thing is that Blizzard somehow listens to their demands. Maybe because they're trying to revive the game, but eventually whiners get what they want. They got it with Yogg, they maybe get it with Tickatus.
Sometimes people's demands are justified and Blizzard listens (or should listen) because it's what's best for the game.
Very often however, people get into a mob mentality and attack the game because they feel frustrated. The reason the developers act upon that is that if they don't, there will be people that attempt to capitalize on that and promote themselves as some sort of "protector of the average player", leading players to actually quit the game.
Blizzard brought this on themselves, not just because of whatever mistakes they have been led to by Activision's very real greed, but because of how terrible they are at communicating what is happening and why. People are suspicious about the developers' every move, and they are very often leaving themselves open for criticism.
I just wish there was a little bit of forum content on the other side. I'm not saying it's warranted to Stan all day ery day, because it isn't. Blizzard has certainly had its share of major fuckups (though I would put them up against any multi-title studio in track record to this day, with the possible exception of Valve).
But, things do get changed for the better a lot. I really think the Core set changes look engaging, fun, and consumer-friendly. The mega-whales who craft everything gold will probably just craft more gold stuff and go along with life. But if you say anything nice about Blizzard, you become a target for personal abuse. I got called an insecure bitch for mentioning my occupation . . . except I didn't mention my occupation. And that's nothing compared to the DMs.
Sticks and stones, and all that, but still . . . would be nice to have some level of parity.

Fully agreed.
I still believe though that the best way to send a message is to abstain from the game. Blizzard does X. You don't like X? Fine don't play. Complaining, but still buying the expansion, or the tavern pass means nothing. The best way to make them hear the playerbase, is if the playerbase starts pouring their money in the game. I remember in WoW- WoD, I didn't like the content much, so I cancelled the subscription, as many others. Blizzard saw this and released their emergency expansion, with the new DH class. ALso look what happened to Diablo players. After Immortal hit rock bottom they now release 4 with the Rogue class that people wanted AND a remastered 2 for nostalgia vibes.
Blizzard should listen to the playerbase, you are right. But, up until now, I BLAME the playerbase because we are unable to communicate correctly.
TL;DR
Right Way: Don't like content -> Don't buy -> Blizzard sees sales drops -> Changes happen
Wrong Way: Don't like content -> Still buy -> Whine -> Nothing happens -> Whine some more -> Something minor happens.
100% going to be complaints about how the new Core Set sticks the finger up at anyone who collected the full classic set and crafted golden versions of legendaries. Which includes me, but I still get to play them in Wild so idgaf.
Anyone who crafts golden deserves to get owned imo. Revenge for flaunting your wealth or poor impulse control.
In fairness, there's an insurance element to it. Dusting a regular legendary gives 25% of investment back (400). Dusting a golden gives 50% (1600).
My personal routine is to complain that Hunter never gets any interesting or unfair cards the way all the other classes do, so I'll have to hold off until the full set is revealed before I dust of the ole "shift H". And last time I did that, Highlander Hunter ended up with the highest winrate of any deck in the meta, but nobody really noticed.
As a person with poor impulse control who loves pretty colors, I've got a fair share of Golden Legends, but I'm a Wild player so I can't complain about the Core Set rotating them out. Not even sure if I have Classic Legends in Gold, most of em are pretty stinky.
Personally I chose to complain that they missed making the shaman hero power into discover (unless that's yet to be revealed) . So I'll stand on that as my personal complaint. As long as you could still only get 1 of each type through the hero power I think it would still be pretty balanced.
as for what all the zoomers will complain about, Economy, too many legendaries, too many new good cards to collect, with resultant complaints about how X is bad for the game rather then reflection on what new decks would be competitive in given meta.
Also, Complaints that the meta is solved in 2 weeks, with new decks occurring consistently over the next 3 months (showing clearly that the meta was never solved. )
Tbh I don't have a problem with hearthstone cards... Etc, I am a fan of this game my only problem or what I don't like anymore is that u grind gold to buy packs which takes insane amount if time to craft 1 full deck while runterra u can craft 3 decks in less than a month and even tier 1 decks and still u buy with real money but u can use this on cosmetics and u can even choose which cards to craft not all rng blizzard new track system is similar to this but not entirely and yet they can win bulks of money for only cosmetics cause wow cosmetics is best things ever

The only real way to gain gold at a decent rate past the dailies and weeklies is to git gud at either arena or heroic duels. I suggest using heartharena to do that, it helped me go inifinite on arena, though it does take a time investment. I personally prefer heroic duels because it's more consistent and the games are usually quicker.
You can wait for such a thread and it is not even new. One of the many from the know-it-all-kind, brainchild of a Blizzard henchman wannabee, deliberating from its bandwagon, pretending in fellow travellers style as if he frequently visits Ayala and consort, with one goal...to tell you how stupid you are. No, no, Blizzard can do no wrong, they are always right. The meta will be ok, card design flawless, skill level is high, diversity will be ok al always.....so how stupid you must be maggot to even dare to complain once again.
Over the years they've come and go on this forum. Types that behave like that. One goal to defend devs by default. Pseudo-intellectuals.
It is types like these that Blizzard builds on to keep the meta unbalanced, overly aggressive, undivers, classes falling from ladder, a mindlessly low skill floor, polarized, too steep RPS, permanently suppressed control to name a few. And don't forget the mindlessness of Tikatus and Zephrys. Hail to the target audience.
Well nothing to complain. The mindless target audience will be served again. Spamm, buff, burn, go face will rule once again. How predictable. Repulsiveness as ever with a cool smile. The meta must and will be aggressive. Fast paced they call it. And henchmen wannabees to defend the gods. By the way isn't it funny to see 'balance changes' all the time. So every new change is the unbalance of the future. Keeping the meta unbalanced is the permanent balance. The politics of card design. Chew on that.

Of course people go face. that is the win condition for the game.... anyway There are plenty of high win high skill decks right now, they don't show that way on the data though as there are too many mediocre players playing them.

Too early to say. Come back in a few weeks and there'll be plenty to be complaining about, there's no doubt whatsoever about it.
