There have been a number of posts surrounding the Tickatus card recently, eliciting some fairly strong positive and negative reactions to whether or not it is a card that requires attention or is fine.
In an effort to curb the repeated number of new threads on this issue, please keep discussions about Tickatus here.
And needless to say, please keep your discourse polite and civil. Flaming will not be tolerated. Thanks all Scorp
Let me first just say that building up towards your big finish with your combo deck, slowly putting the pieces together and then only to have your plans scuppered by Tickatus wrecking your day, definitely #FeelsBadMan. I've bene there. We've all been there. But that is really what the point of the card is. It is a situational "Mess with your opponent's plan" card.
To that effect, I think it's a great addition to the game myself. And I think it has a place in it. The flip-side to playing a deck like this is that in the same way, you might be trying to get to the late game to unlock your corrupted cards and getting upset because the mean Aggro players keep owning your face before turn 8.
Again, we've all been there - Tempo Rogue right now is the most oppressive deck I have seen since Pirate Warrior, in fact. But it is what it is - you end the game and hope the next opponent is more of an easier match up.
So, yes - I think Tickatus is frustrating to play against - but he is a pretty heavy hit-or-miss card and has some huge downsides that keep him in check.

Yep. This is my opinion as well.
Clearly this card has been very polarizing, but I feel like most of people's complaints are not about design of the card and the effect on the meta, but more like, "I don't like this effect on my deck, and it happened like once, so it's ruining the entire game."
Out of like 10 games, I might see one warlock, and it may or may not even have Tickatus. So what's the big deal?
I'm sure we'll find out (again) before this thread gets closed. :)
I've always liked cards that shaft the opponent. I used to love Dirty Rat. Maybe Tickatus is a little over-tuned? I don't know, my opinion in biased, I like him, and have a long standing hatred of combo druids and such that do nothing all game but armor up draw draw draw , until malygos. I liked combo decks that actually interacted with the board and required some maths, like patron warrior...from the hand combo dump OTKs have always pissed me off.
It's frustrating when your opponent plays it sure, but welcome to this game.. I would be lying if I didn't think the design was refreshing and kinda cool though. I would hardly recommend it gets removed from the game or nerfed. Deal with it people!! There are plenty of other cards that bother me more than tickatus

If you get the warlock health down enough hm milling cards ain’t going to save his life lol
I just find it bizarre the amount of vitriol people have for the card. Sure, it can be frustrating to lose against, but it's seen so rarely that who even really cares? It's not like its niche is one that's ever going to see much play. It's a hard anti-late game card in a game that's always got at the very least one or two very powerful aggro decks. I wouldn't be upset if it was nerfed, but I also don't particularly see a need for it. It just seems bizarre that Tickatus seems to be the main card people are complaining about in a meta dominated by Tip The Scales Paladin and fifteen different flavors of aggro bullshit. The meta sucks, but Tickatus has absolutely no place in it.
There's the argument about "well, Tickatus will prevent a control/combo meta from happening" but... I don't know, doesn't seem like it does much other than occupy the standard combo position of always winning vs control. It does better against combo than other combo decks, sure, but it still gets crushed by aggro and can potentially lose to faster combo decks if it doesn't draw Tickatus in time. It's just, I don't know, none of the three billion "TICKATUS NEEDS TO GET REMOVED FROM THE GAME AND EVERYONE WHO HAS HIM NEEDS THEIR ACCOUNT DELETED" threads that've popped up seemed to me to make more sense than, say, getting really angry at ETC Combo Warrior. They're both niche decks which could potentially make an impact on a theoretical future meta that may or may not ever come to exist. That's a lot of maybes.
There is also the fact that Tickatus is a legendary and therefore will only have one copy in your deck (unless you get a god-roll off of Demon Studies, which is very unlikely). So if Tickatus is in the bottom third of your deck, you're pretty much screwed from the start. If your somehow manage to get him out and make use of him before the end of the game by this point, you deserve the win, really. Lol
Change the mana cost from 6 to 7 or change the stats from 8/8 to 9/5. DO NOT CHANGE THE EFFECT.
For 7 mana the only viable corruptor would Twisting Nether and that would make card unplayable. Also stats means nothing for Tickatus, so there's little difference between 8/8 and 9/5.
The whole argument that Tickatus is slow or hard to find is completely negated by the fact that Warlock can literally draw there entire deck very easily with the insane amount of card draw they have, not to mention that they heal insane amounts of damage now with insane amounts of removal. Add on top of that that they can do it all over again for 0 mana with Yshaarj. Yes, i understand as well that the winrate isnt necessarily so high and that aggro can destroy it but thats thats another issue. Remember when Illucia was nerfed even though it was only good in niche situations? This card is even more toxic imo and just because it has a bad aggro matchup doesnt mean the card isnt toxic af. If the meta ever does slow down, this card will single handedly negate all other control decks. I'm not saying the card needs to go atm but it is definetly a card that needs to be constantly accounted for.

No offense but it seems you have zero idea about the class in its current state.
I would love to see what kinda decks people that find Tickatus to be a problem play. Tickatus decks are very slow so I simply cannot imagine how awfully boring and slow these decks must be if they're constantly losing to it.
Also at what ranks do you people play if you meet so many Tickatus Warlocks? I've been playing last couple seasons from bronze to dumpster legend and I've met only few of them. I also watch streamers that play on high legend and over there literally no one plays Tickatus Warlock. You know why? Because it sucks! It gets eaten by pretty much anything before it can do anything.
Yes, card does have a nasty effect, but it's well balanced by how slow it is. So if you keep losing to it, then problem is not the card.
Once per game max. Anymore and it breaks the game for other control deck players. Being forced to Play Ticakatus as a control player feels bad. Allowing Tickatus to be discovered from 1 mana spells, copied multiple times etc..... ruins the game. all u need vs a control deck is remove remove remove, play Tickatus, remove rempove and win the game.
I'm double-legend most months but Tickatus made it too easy. I run it because it saves my time but I despise the design. Does no one at Blizz remember how bad Gnomeferatu was received?

is too easy too multiply and to activate in a class full of removal and draw power.. is unbalanced

unfucking beliveable that some people think this card should be excist in the current form
i don’t get it, warlock players i guess
blud, this waste card is bare overpowered...it should cost 8 mana and only remove 3 cards. peace out.

If there was less Tickatus, there'd be more control preist, is that really better?
I don't play my tickatus because it's good, I play it to cull the control priest population.
