Proper control decks barely exist so of course you're not getting Tickatus off regularly by turn 8, Warlock has an average to poor winrate against both Paladin and Mage and during the last expansion it got wrecked by aggro AND combo as both Mozaki and DH were faster.
The argument this thread asks is whether Tickatus is good or bad for the game, not whether he is overpowered at the minute or that Warlock is any good at the minute.
My point is that the game is broken in many ways, Tickatus being one of them. He along with many other issues speed up the game more than I (and many other) want.
This doesn't resolve the issue of the average game of Hearthstone being a lot faster and less interactive than I wish it was.
I'm honestly surprised many people aren't on the Control Warlock bandwagon, because it's actually tier 1. How does any other slow deck beat this? I like that Jaraxxus got buffed but it exists at the same time as Tickatus in standard so it's only more salt to the wound, complete overkill. The deck has answers for everything
But the majority of the meta is too fast for it. It has an abysmal winrate at Legend and it only gets worse the higher in Legend you look.
What a strange bit of logic in a game where aggro abounds.
Tickatus has not been tier 1 for a single second.

It's not like you have to built the whole deck around it. You can just run a ultra control deck which destroys aggro, and just include Tickatus which will auto win the game against combo deck or other control...
I play wild only with custom combo deck mainly. I get recked by aggro, I'm ok with that, but losing against a single card vs warlock is very frustrating...
According to Vicious Syndicate (https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-192/) the deck's overall performance puts it into T4 category right now... except bronze, where it's very close to T1. That actually says a lot about those "Tickatus is BROKEN OP and I can't beat it!" complaints on hearthpwn...

I don't think Tickatus alone is the Problem. But when you start copying him with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler and you play him again the same turn for 0 Mana YES that's a Problem.
I remember a time when people were crying about Gala Rogue and the 0 Mana card draw .. What happened now no one complains about 0 mana cards after Y'Shaarj, the Defiler is played? Like Strongman , Cascading Disaster and Carnival Clown or even Dunk Tank and Circus Medic
Best fix I saw was the 5/8/8 deathrattle with the effect (you still have to corrupt him to burn opponents cards). But my main complain about cards like this is... it's only for Warlock... I know it is supposed to be flavourful but make him neutral so anyone can counter control decks and OTK decks. Any one can enjoy it. Change like this could be made for hefty other cards too.
Also game is missing neutral transform effect. There is not a single card that let's you transform minions (only for mage and shaman). Overspark is not targeted so it is not usable.

This is the same (wrong) argument people bring to say Shudderwock was a mistake when it actually is one of the most fun and interesting buildaround cards in this game (without the infinite BS that came from COMPLETELY UNRELATED AND OTHERWISE NEAR USELESS CARDS).
Buildaround cards that,after some buildup, have a strong effect late into the game (without autowinning said game) are the healthiest, best designed, most fun cards in the game (N'Zoth, the Corruptor says hi...or do you maybe want to argue that he was a problem because Oh No, YoU gEt So mAnY dEaThRaTtLeS fOr 0 MaNa sooooo BROKEN,BAD DESIGN). These kinds of cards only become effective so late into the game that the "faster" decks have either already won or lost and the more "slow gameplan" decks have likely "ammassed" the tools (clears/heals and armor/board presence) to deal with such huge boardswings/value.
[REDACTEDTUS] on the other hand is a design mistake no matter how you look at it,NOT ONLY does it require virtually NO buildup to to its job BUT ALSO it only exsits to utterly annihalate an archetype while being legit a liability vs anything else...that's called a polarizing and unfun design mistake that only kills diversity in the game making it less fun.
It's not even overpowered, actually it may even be quite bad/weak since it is useless vs aggressive decks (aka the most powerful and prevalent playstyle in the game) so it's unlikely to get nerfed MAKING THE SITUATION EVEN WORSE.
I don't think you responded exactly to what I said ... I don't think Tickatus breaks the game or that it is op. I said that We don't want 0 mana cost cards in standard any more. Blizzard made this decision starting with Gala Rogue Nerfs and the Dragonqueen Alexstrasza they didn't want 0 mana cost cards in standard. But we still have 0 mana Libram of Wisdom and now wtih Y'Shaarj, the Defiler all Corrupt cards become 0 mana and playable on turn 10 immediately. The combos you referred to are now in Wild plus the UNerfed gala alex... Leave them in Wild I don't want 0 mana cards in standard Blizzard should make up their minds about this either we have 0 mana cards or we don't we can't have both ways with every expansion. Make the corrupt cards cost 1 mana.
I don't think you quite got what I was saying there:
Y'Shaarj, the Defiler has a N'Zoth like effect where it "resummons" things you played during the game mening it requires buildup during the game to be a strong 1 TIME effect relatively far into the lategame that builds a board, maybe deals some damage/clears and other things, very much akin to things like N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
Libram of Wisdom is slightly different because it can be played again and again AND it has insane synergy with Pen Flinger. As a wild player I can't say much about gala/alex as they (galakrond expecially) are rarely seen.
Regardeless though: [REDACTEDTUS] is the problematic one here as it's a polarizing design mistake that serves no purpose exept autowin vs a single archetype while being a liability vs anything else. On the other hand as I discussed Y'Shaarj, the Defiler is a 1 time lategame swing turn like many, MANY others in HS's history that have spawned the best/most fun decks in the game, it's FAR from a problem, a card like that only becomes a problem if it defines an oppressive tier 0 deck.
I honestly can't find a reason how a card that wrecks 1/3 of a players deck can be considered healthy and balanced. I can get around the first Tickatus, but a second copy through that damn god is pure shit.

Tickatus should only burn AT MOST 3 cards. It'd still be insane. Nobody watched the GMs? Tickatus won games by itself.
I really think people and a big chunk of the playerbase is quite blind. Nobody even noticed that there are not many control decks REALLY working since past expansion other than Control Warlock? The only other control deck that could be competitive in the previous expansion was Priest, since it didn't needed it's own deck due to the bizarre amount of value it generates.
Tickatus is a HUGE deck building limitation. Just one card (with insane stats and cost) that destroys combo and control decks with insane value generation.
If at least it could be reduced to only 3 cards, or changing Y'shaarj to set the mana of the cards to one until your next turn... That'd be... Fair (not, but it would be a start)

Because a nerf for Y'Shaarj would be also a nerf for all other classes. Only Warlock is problematic with deleting 10 cards from your opponent's deck. No other corrupt card is that toxic.
The same people crying about this deck are the same people that generate cards out of nowhere and shit Mages who fill their hand with spells. You think Tickatus is bad for the game? It's no worse than shit ass DH that has every tool in the book and shittier ass Mage that hand vomits spells all game.
If people weren't concerned about Control Warlock before the Barrens expansion, they will now. With the most broken removal in the game (Cascading Disaster and Hysteria) and loads of healing Aggro and other aggressive strategies are null. And of course Fuckfacetus destroys the control matchups and combo to boot. Seriously the devs are blind as fuck to not see how broken Control Warlock is, it is the most powerful Control has ever gotten and probably will be until this mess is fixed. You know what's worse than a broken Aggro deck? a broken Control deck that beats practically every archetype besides some Midrange decks.
I think this is less of a question of "is Control Warlock or Tickatus broken" and more "Does Control Warlock have such a dominating winrate over other control decks that it's rendered them completely irrelevant". Which is a recurring problem as it is.
I didn't think Tikatus alone rendered control decks pointless last year, but this year playing Control vs. Warlock just feels like a waste of time.
