And you are exactly proving my point: trying to evaluate someone's opinion or even personality/maturity by the way they express it rather than by what they are actually saying is exactly the problem AND an extremely short sighted narrow minded approach to a discussion AND a plague that is infecting our society. A correct opinion is correct no matter the way it is expressed.
Yes, I will judge you based on your ability to converse. It won’t change the validity of your opinion, but informs my decision whether to engage in the discussion or not.
The only possibile VALUABLE counterargument you MAY try to bring up is being offensive to other people...still I never once offended actual people so....nope, goodbye.
Final note:
Now I KNOW that you (or someone else reading this post in disagreement with my views on the matter) will bring this up so it fills my mind, heart and soul with joy to shut you up even prior to you responding (as I despise people that try to do this from the bottom of my heart) :
You are about to try to discredit my previous statement using an empty argument you """""""found""""""" using stuff I never said but that you wrongly believe I implied SO......
I am by no means implying that MY opinion that I espressed in any one of the posts I made is factually correct, all I'm saying is that ANY statement needs to be read/heard with your mind set to WHAT it is saying, rather than HOW and if said piece of writing happens to be correct you have no choice but to acknowledge that. Refer to the second paragraph before bringing "being offensive" into the mix.
I have no intention or even interest to discredit anything whatsoever. I just think it’s childish to berate the card as it adds nothing to your argument.
It's a necessary evil. It's a class card that can be played in basically only big\control warlock decks that may or may not be there depending on how aggro the meta gets and destroys slow control decks (mostly priest) that have the wincon of clearing the board until the opponent ends his deck. This card alone is what can keep the meta from becoming the control vs control "loses whoever gets to fatigue first"meta that we had when Archivist Elysiana was added
Yeah, the meta would be so sad if control decks were allowed to exist, instead let's have any control vs control warlock be ruined by tickatus
Yeah, the meta would be so sad if control decks had a win condition that doesn't revolve around let's go to fatigue for 40 min and actually had to do something atleast in control vs control matchups
Let's be fair, plenty of control decks don't go to fatigue. Plenty don't consistently see the bottom of their deck.
It's really quite a strawman to keep bringing this up, it's happened so many times. I haven't personally seen anyone complaining about not being able to get to fatigue.
Let's all agree that a card that counters fatigue is fine.
I've had 10 cards wrecked from my deck many a time and been reduced from around 15 to 5. I'm not trying to go to fatigue, the multiple decks I've had it happen to had no intention of getting to fatigue. In fact, I'd say I've reached fatigue far more times BECAUSE of Tickatus, with decks that don't get to fatigue in regular matches.
It isn't that hard to get the card online for around turn 10, that'd nowhere near 40+ minutes of fatigue. I honestly think the card would be less frustrating if it wasn't for the second free copy.
It isn't over powered, it just wrecks multiple decks within an entire archetype and is a very unfun card to play against as a result. I can't even applaud the smart setup because it doesn't require that. Clear a board with twisting nether, which is a very common board clear for Warlock to use and don't have your two pieces buried within the last 10 cards of your deck.
I would personally really like the card if the effect was a one time thing, it's a cool effect and potentially has a really high pay off for timing it right. There's no need to time it right though, you get to burn a third of your opponent's deck, there's a good chance you'll get something important. The Y'shaarj turn just feels cheap and cheesy to me though.
Sorry I can't "bold up" text on my phone, I'll try to separate your quotes from my answers
~Are you trying to say word choice doesn't matter? Because... wow... I mean you are entitled to your opinion and are allowed to be wrong, but seriously? Reading between the lines and little social cues are all we have to go on, since we are just a few lines of text to each other. The way you CHOOSE to say something is as important as what you say.~
Well that's not far from what I mean. Word choice matters....very little, as long you are easily understood and not offensive to other people you're fine.
Your post highlights just how deeply radicated this issue is. Form is meaningless without substance while substance stands on its own just fine. You may argue that form may make the substance easier to consume BUT we are not in showbusiness, which is the ONLY "place" where that gains any amount of importance as you also aim to make things enjoyable to follow, so "easier to consume" is completely meaningless in our context (by showbusiness I mean things like books/movies/songs etc...).
~Information (even opinions are information) is only as valuable it's source so you how you choose to present yourself in going to be how we evaluate if what you say is worth reading.~
Information (even opinions are information) is only as VALUABLE as what it says. The way to present it is completely meaningless as long as it is easy to understand since a well presented, well "made" wrong argument STAYS wrong no matter how much you may try to shugarcoat it
~I am not trying to fix you; that is not my job. It us just what you said there goes so far against what I believe to be true that it hurt my brain.~
I am honestly not trying to fix you either, even though I am deeply convinced that your PoV is 100% wrong I also understand that such a radical shift in prospective is extremely hard, I am simply sharing my opinion.
Yes, I will judge you based on your ability to converse. It won’t change the validity of your opinion, but informs my decision whether to engage in the discussion or not.
That is Simply a wrong and short sighted PoV as you preclude yourself from seeing someone else's PoV and thoughts that May improve or expand your own
Irrelevant. The deck is high tier 3. The mechanic isn't even strong by itself. Cards in the decks are irrelevant outside of control matchup because before being in your hand they don't even exist. And it's not even that good in slow matchups. Tickatus warlock has negative winrate against highlander druid/mage bomb warrior/pen flinger paladin/otk warrior.
People just get emotive when there cards are getting burn even if the deck they face is very bad.
Everytime there’s a card that hard counters control , people start with drama, so predictable…
It happened before with Jade Idol, Crystal Core, Shudderwock, Open the Waygate, Kingsbane, and now Tickatus… What all the decks that ran these cards had in common: They were not op at all if you analized winrate. Yet they were still nerfed
Truth is: Control Players are spoiled brats. They want the ability to deal with aggro easily, and that is fine and balanced for them, but if another type of strategy that counters their slow style rise in popularity , even if not op across the board, they will demand nerfs . And Blizzard usually drops the hammer, lol
Why don’t you grow a pair and learn to deal with bad matchups like every other archetype do? Tickatus is fine and it`s existence discourage decks that run 25 removal spells, aka ResidentSleeper decks.

Funny that, Tickatus decks are the epitome of running 25 removal spells. Tickatus is a counter that makes the decks around it precisely the thing it's "supposed to counter". it's not "another type of strategy", like the difference in strategy between a control deck and a combo deck. it's just a one-of easy win condition for warlock control.
You do realise that this quote only makes you look silly don’t you? There is no hive mind of ‘control players’ just as there is no hive mind of ‘aggro’ or ‘combo’ etc.
Anyone who enjoys playing an archetype is not going to enjoy cards that flat out busted against that archetype. I imagine people who mainly play aggro were not too fond of Reno Jackson.
Tick isn’t the only issue as aggro is overtuned and combo can go off for 50+ damage by like turn 7 meaning decks are forced to play faster, Tick is just symbolic of how much Blizzard have destroyed the aggro, midrange, combo, control balance of the past.
The card is fine, maybe reduce from 5 to 4 cards, but its way better than having no answers to control priest and warrior. Tickatus is the equalizer.
The thing is, that people are just upset, that it burns their win condition in "slow" decks. Which is their Cthun for priest, Ilganoth for DH, clowns/survival for Druid, Alex/Zephrys for highlander, Rattlegore for warrior etc.
Generally if you know your opponent has Tickatus, you need to create and keep pressure. If you are afking, you cant complain, that your opponent is using their win condition to win the game lol.
You need to punish warlock for playing Tickatus - he doesnt have taunt, doesnt have rush. If you can get Warlock at around 15-20 HP (which is fairly easy) and keep some board presence (5-10 damage), if they play it, they are in threath they will die next turn or the turn after.
If they get it super early (turn 3 draw it, turn 4 coin corrupt, turn 5 play it), they probably won. But the same can be said about Druid (turn 2 ramp, turn 3 ramp to 6 mana, turn 4 ramp to 9 mana, turn 5 survival of fittest, turn 6 board of 8/8s or duel paladin turn 4 coin drop 10drop with taunt and deathrattle.
I like Tickatus warlock. I have never played it but the idea of an alternate win condition than just curving out and hitting your opponent in the face appeals to me. I get it people don't like playing against control decks that do stuff other than just playing minions on the board but we need decks like that otherwise hearthstone is a stale game.
Control Priest has always been vulnerable to combo as they usually cap at 30 health. I’ve been away for a few years but historically Priest was never one of the stronger classes, people don’t like it seemingly for the same reason people don’t like Tick, it hard counters whatever they’re trying to do.
This whole Tickatus nonsense is wayyy overblown. The card is useless in most matchups (for me over 70% of my games as control warlock end prior to turn 10) and most games the card is never played. Tickatus is good in niche control mirrors and can be seen as an equalizer to combo or otk decks, hell I have thought about cutting the card altogether in my control warlock list for this expansion because its just too slow. We are never going back to a super control meta and that would be the only scenario where Tickatus would fall under the problematic category.

Nerf this stupid card already, every control deck in this new meta is punished by this BS... Make it that if corrupted destroys 5 cards from both decks, similar to Altar of Flames. AoF was played against me several times, and I did not felt punished, when I saw some important cards burned from the opponents deck. Tickatus is just frustrating to play against, plus it is BS to play him more than once in one game.

Redisign it so it can't be easily copied (remove Demon tag). 2 copies (Original and Yshaarj) should be enough. Then it's fine.
If it's an easy win condition then why does the card have a 50.1% winrate

Make it unplayable trash so nobody will play him ever again.
Fixed that for you.
That would not make the card unplayable.
Of course, after all, control deck doesn't mind destroying its own cards (especially class like Warlock, with pretty much zero card generation)...
Self-Discard is an archetype they’re pushing and it fits into that neatly. I don’t know how you could claim it is unplayable.
Goldshire Footman is unplayable.
