So, I used to have two copies of cabal acolyte which I disenchanted after it was nerfed a good while ago. Right now cabal acolyte is the only scholomance epic I am missing but for some reason I ‘ve just opened a third copy of another scholomance epic.
Has the rule changed? My understanding is that any scholomance epic I would get could only be cabal acolyte.
Owned after the duplicate protection rule and disenchanted counts as owned. They did that not long after introducing it to stop people easily farming nerfed cards for bonus dust.
Nope, works as intended. You now will get Scholomance epics on RANDOM, one of them can be Cabal Acolyte, but not guaranteed. It is made that way only for cards you have dusted (they are counted as if you have them), so you can only get them again, when you have all other cards of the same rarity, but on random basis.
Done this way, so that we can't farm cards which got nerfed, opening only them in packs post-nerf (if we got all other cards of this rarity). So if you dusted cards and now wanna play with them, you can: a) either become generous with that full dust refund, which you got from dusting them post nerf b) hope that Lady Luck smiles at you one day Cheers!

>easily farming
I mean, yes, putting your credit card number is easy. But having to pay money to "easily farm" dust not so much.

You understand what the trick would be, right? It would only work when a card is nerfed and you get a full refund.
By DEing the nerfed cards, you would 100% get them back in packs before any other with the same rarity. I was an obvious exploit, and not a fun one to do either. Now you need all other cards of the rarity first, and then you have an equal chance to get your missing card as any other.
Oh, not long ago I completed my Classic collection, I am kind of looking forward to opening my first duplicate legendary in years!
Kinda feel like this shouldn't apply to when you disenchant a nerfed card... or they could just be kind and give us the dust value like they do for HoFed cards.

Or would that be too generous?
So, if a rare card gets nerfed, you disenchant it and open packs (assuming you are legend when the season resets, you get 5 packs for free), you get that card guaranteed since each pack contains at least 1 rare card. Then you open your free 5 packs (the card needs to be from that specific expansion). On average, you get 2 copies of the nerfed card in 2 packs, you DE them and open 2 more, you DE those copies too and open the last pack. 5 copies of a nerfed rare card that grants you 500 dust for free. It was exploited by some players, especially by those who would buy packs with money and farm nerfed legendaries to get a lot of dust.

In regard to the Classic set, I also have every card. However, I was wondering if the rule still applies to legendaries? What I mean is, I would like to try and attempt to get a specific legendary to pop in gold. I assume you can no longer disenchant a legendary, say Archmage Antonidas, with a full set and then to expect to get it with your next legendary, correct?
I have lots of Classic packs saved up in case they introduce more cards like they did in the past and additionally haven't opened them in case it's still possible to 'pick' the next legendary you open.

No, if you owned them all after the patch date, you can't pick which legendary to get. The last classic I opened was King Mukla, which I DID DE a golden version of, but as that was done before the rule changeg he popped anyway.
I don't think saving up packs like that works. The content is determined at the time of purchase.

The rule changed several months ago. A dusted card counts as owned.
Take a walk on the wild side...
nah, once u had 2 copies and disenchanted them the system won't give them to you anymore

“My” exploit was to farm golden legendaries. Yeah, whale. I know.
