Lol at everyone kidding themselves that Tickatus is the problem with the meta.
Its certainly the meta warping boss though. Ladder rn is "draw fast or kill fast", follow this rule or risk watching your cards burn. The card is not seeing much play cuz its bad, but cuz everyone is targeting it.
Tickatus can only push out other control decks from the meta if it's played often enough to ruin those deck's win rate. If we take the VS statistic that was referred to as a guide, you'll face tickatus in about 8.6% of your games. If this actually has scared you away from playing other control decks, despite the fact that they are the best counter for rouge, which is much more prevalent, then the problem is probably your own judgement....

The meta defining effects of Tickatus has nothing to do with conformation bias. That arbitrary 8.6% is just a snapshot in time. Controle doesn't suffer from this card alone which adds to a more broader suppression of balanced multi class controle representation.
It's not the stats, its the politics of card design.

We make our world significant through the courage of our questions and the depth of our answers.
I didn't use Vicious Syndicate to prove anything. The person I was speaking to held VS out as the place to get stats, so I responded in kind. Consequently, I'm not assuming "my own" facts. I'm assuming VS's facts.
It helps to not just take one post out of context and actually follow a conversation. But, I know you're here for other reasons. You can't even be bothered to use complete sentences when you aren't talking about Trump. Speaking of which, regardless of feelings for or against any politician, I have a far better grasp of the language than Trump.
And don't worry Selina, he's been up at arms about my avatar for over a year now. He's not the only one, though he ranks among the most persistent. Trump will be dead and in the ground and that sort of response will still be coming.
In a more general sense, it is instructive to watch the moving goal posts as this thread has progressed. At first, there were claims made about win rates and played rates on ladder. 4 pages later, win rates and played rates are arbitrary "snapshots in time". The translation is clear (which is surprising, given the terrible English used): No evidence, regardless of source, can be used to refute the point at hand. Anything which seems to completely make a lie of the central premise is "arbitrary" or "assuming [my] own facts". Something, something Trump.
If I were interested in the political argument, I could certainly draw a few similarities between certain politicians and the above way of thinking, but since this thread is supposedly referring to a card game, I shall refrain. It's just another subjective evaluation as to whether such things are compliments or curses, anyway.
On another note, anyone work in debt collection? Had a wonderful experience with an abusive consumer trying to refinance a mortgage, and it reminded me how good life can be. Just curious if there are similar experiences out there.

You turned this into a thread about you and you stupid avatar. Mods should change it, the guy's picture is so inflammatory it derails threads whether you want that to happen or not.
Unless you actually believe that having a picture of a person can be so inflammatory that it demands comment, I certainly did NOT introduce the topic of the avatar. That's an easily observable fact, go ctrl + F "trump" and/or "avatar" on previous pages and see for yourself.
EDIT: Though I will admit, for a pic chosen solely for it being a funny facial expression, the deluge of hate has been surprising and sad.

Tickatus is one of my favorite cards because I love burning my opponents 16-attack kingsbanes and their wretched tillers. Sorry bro but f**k your deck that you copy and pasted off the internet. Specifically why I play tickatus, so I can watch my brain dead opponents playing rez priest cry when I burn their spell stone and 9 mana rez card (forgot the name). And most of the time he doesn’t win the game on the spot against a control deck, more against a combo deck that has combo pieces in which case, that is exactly what tickatus’s effect is supposed to be, a combo tech in a strong control deck; which is control’s weakness. and I think he accomplishes that role brilliantly. One of my favorite cards hands down, next to lorewalker cho and nozdormu (the classic). People that say he’s bad design dont understand design, especially if their argument is that he’s an anti-control card.

What a needlessly aggressive reply from an extremely narrow minded point of view.
If you are set on using a pic of Trump I would atleast suggest changing it to one which doesn't look like he is in the middle of telling the press to 'fuck off' or similar. It just makes the following post feel more antagonistic.
I tell you what Psy_Kik, and I'm dead serious. You send me a pic of Trump that you think won't provoke this sort of asinine rhetoric, and that pic shall be my avatar from now on. We'll see what happens.
Obvious caveats apply, nothing that gets me banned.
EDIT: Not referring to your rhetoric, referring to Hog's and the other dude insulting me for no reason.

Well, as I said, the guy is inherently inflammatory. Its pretty predictable some people will give you shit over Trump avatar, given what he represents. There was a guy on these forums a while back who used a Bald Eagle as his avatar with some shitty, borderline fascist line in his sig, he got given shit too (not by me), and no one could take his posts seriously. He used to derail threads too, even when he was trying to stay on topic.
Is moderator of Hearthpwn still around? If one page of out-topic discussion is not enough to make the moderator comes and give a warning, I don't know what will..
If by one page you mean 5 posts, two of which were mine and responding to criticism I did not initiate, sure, I guess that's worth a warning.
Every other post I have made is primarily devoted to the Tickatus topic. But, to be honest, what more needs be said on the topic? We've had multiple people come and tell us that statistics aren't contributing to the discussion, so what else are we supposed to do?
I guess I can be as subjective as everyone else. I can beat Tickatus with warrior and priest an acceptable amount of the time, therefore you should be able to also. Am I doing it right? I don't know what else there is to offer, as people aren't open to anything that contradicts an accepted premise.
EDIT: @ Psy, I take your latest post to mean you are refusing my offer, as now any pic of the person in question is apparently too inflammatory for people to control themselves. In which case I have no idea why you bothered to critique the individual pic, as that seems now to be a complete red herring. But if I'm incorrect in my interpretation, the offer stands.

This thread was derailed a long time ago. Literally no amount of discussion will ever allow us to come to an agreement over Tickatus or the state of control decks in HS right now.
If I've learned anything about the internet over the years, is that there will always be someone who disagrees with you, facts to back it up or not. And you can't convince them otherwise.
And lots of people that just like to insult others for no reason at all.
Yeah well, I broke the first rule of the forum. Never apologize. After your post on the Illucia/Tickatus interaction, I gave the dude insulting me some leeway by saying I was sorry and it was like throwing chum in Australian waters. Actually, that's way too much credit. More like throwing chum in the brackish water where the Mississippi meets the Gulf of Mexico.

The fact it's a 6 mana 8/8 body even with it's effect just shows how stupid OP they made this card. They could have made it a 4/4 or 5/5 body and every Warlock would still run this, it's played for the effect and to abuse it not because of the body. It's just bad design all around.
Well, due to corruption, consider it as a "turn 8" so, yeah 8/8 stats isn't shocking y'know ? The main problem is Tickatus stacking the problems (high stats, easy to corrupt, easy to draw, no counterplay, 5 cards is a lot, you can get copies of him...) with no real solutions for the opponent than being fast.
Also remember most Control decks are bad for a reason right now. For the 10 classes : - DH : have better to do than playing control - Druid : too slow and is more "mid" - Mage : too random, not consistent enough = not good enough - Rogue : Rogue can't play control due to not having any defensive tool - Shaman : the class have TONS of way to control. And not a single win con. - Priest : can't put any pressure on the opponent's HP for the whole game. Also, slow. - Paladin : don't have the tools to control, can mainly mid - Warlock : truly lack heal - Hunter : aggro or mid, can't control
The worst point is that even warrior, which should be THE control class, have a problem right now. The same as shaman : it has no serious win condition. And Rattlegore is a "good" card only for that reason. Warrior control now can only win with him (tons of counters) or with ETC combo (Tickatus annihilate that).
So, yeah, Tickatus isn't THE problem. It EMPHASIZE the problem. It simply make the "we can't play control" WORSE. And make the "we can only play aggro" problem WORSE. Because you can't have a control meta while Tickatus is available. Because, else, it'll be a Tickatus meta. Which will shift quickly in a full-aggro meta to counter Tickatus's deck. And people then are gonna focus on the aggro decks as a problem and we're gonna get 10 000 years of DH nerfs rather than something that simply makes control decks PLAYABLE.
Warlock: Has a ton of heal through soul shards, Nether Breath, and Man’ari Mosher. And Enhanced Dreadlord if you’re feeling squirrelly.
Shaman: Their big win condition right now is Y’sharji with double battlecry and corrupted Dunk Tanks and Medics. Plus sometimes double battlecry with Hecklebot can fish out your opponent’s Tickatus or Y’sharji before they can fill their conditions, just make sure you have a way to back it up.
As for Paladin, I’m currently at Diamond 9 with my Control Paladin deck and climbing, so I wouldn’t say they have no control options.
If by one page you mean 5 posts, two of which were mine and responding to criticism I did not initiate, sure, I guess that's worth a warning.

I dunno man, do you really want me to find you another Trump avatar? I encourage you to change it yourself (idealy to something other than Trump) but I don't care that much... you are the one who said before I even posted anything that people just ignore your posts and can't see past the avatar. You can project your political inclinations and bait people or you can talk hearthstone, sometimes both, but that will depend on the reader.

So we agree I suppose....?
As I wrote before, VS & HSR statistics are just guiding numbers. These percentages are significantly higher than my own experience, so I don't really know what confirmation bias you're talking about. The other players saying that control is dead because they lost to a tickatus? Your point is that tickatus is just an addition to what suppresses control in the meta right? Well I never promoted mono causality here either, only the contrary. The OP states that Tickatus is the reason why control is dead. We both obviously disagree to that. Sure, they could have redesigned the entire set and maybe tickatus wouldn't FEEL so problematic, but neither of us have any data to use that really... It's an argument that you could use all the time. Leeroy could also be standard 4 cost again if half of the cards were redesigned. We just got a new miniset that allows crazy aggro, mid range, control, OTK and greed, the options might not be perfectly balanced, but the way I see it, we have fewer but more powerful aggro decks and two BIG minion and one super greed deck that preform well. Just to repeat myself again, my rank ofc adds a bias. I see no tickatus in 4500 legend but used to see more in 10000. If that's time or the rank I can't say, but I do see more salt threats about tickatus than the actual card.
BTW: I mostly play quest shaman, HL warrior and token DH atm and have absolutely no problem with tickatus.

Tickatus lock has low winrate rn, but thats cuz the meta has changed in order to counter it, the ladder hate is VERY high.
All i see on legend rank is hyper aggression and slow decks with absurdly fast draw engines, they can draw their whole deck by turn 9.
By the point you can play Tickatus you're either dead or you'll be able to get his effect off once at most b4 the opponent enters fatigue.
Its kinda insane how the entire meta is being warped so much around a single class legendary, ngl. Still fun as hell to play though.

Back in topic, I noticed that I don't find Tickatus anymore. I think after losing many games vs aggro, people gave up on it.
