In Hearthstone the mindlessness is absolute, reason, fairness, balance, diversity, skill, all those things that makes us human absent. The only thing that seems to count is maximize pack selling bij serving a mindless crowd. Hiding behind win rates while classes falling fro ladder, RPS is too steep, the meta polarized and opponent are being dehumanized by wildly unbalanced cards, will not diminish the fact that defending Blizzard and team 5 will makes you part of that cesspool. But who cares anyway, as long you can spit out pseudo-intellectualisms and feel good about yourself.
I really like the fact that you think for yourself and always stay true to your point of view, Hooghout. We may not always agree, but I just want to tell you that I admire your behavior in this mindless world full of sheep. After all these years, you continue being the same, well done!!! :)

There is no real control build of warrior? Wtf are you smoking? If that poster responds, I'm sure he'll say he meant ETC warrior, but that's not what was said. Or has bomb warrior suddenly dropped from its tier 2 status based on . . . what exactly? The knuckles nerf was a huge buff to bomb warrior if only for the newfound lack of stickyfingers in the meta.
That's about the end of rationality for this topic if that's what passes for fact around here. When I'm the only one pointing that shit out, there's no real discussion happening.
Good luck on your nerf lobbying. I seriously doubt it will happen, but then again, we're talking about the game that had flametongue totem nerfed at a time when shaman had zero tier 1 or 2 decks, so weirder things have certainly happened.
Que sera, life is good.

I've started insta-conceding against them. It's completely pointless.
I mean, the warlock's corrupt package makes the odds impossible for any control/combo player out there. Its power level, compared to other classes' package is simply ridiculous. This is beyond stupid...
10 cards milled (at least, and only if they feel like they need to) plus 12 minions obliterated (no matter their size) for 18 mana.
Thanks for the free win this morning!
JFYI I was NOT playing the infamous Tiller or "controll killing Tickatus" deck, so we could have some fun...
You already have to draw and play a 7+ mana card to activate the corrupt effect. There are few enough of those that you can get away with playing in standard, and outside of Y'shaarj I can't really see realistic options at 9+ mana. So you just want the card removed from the game? OK, say that then. Upping the requirement to 9+ mana is less about "deckbuilding and normal constraints", and more about making the card actually unplayable. Pretending you want to "balance" the card when you just want it nerfed into unplayability is just disingenuous.
To those who think 'facts' play any role in Hearthstone and its card design.
Reasoning based on 'facts' in terms of numbers is quite deceiving. One can argue like a flatlander and be quite right in his own eyes. But reality lies somewhere else, in the deep, and is called the politics of card design. This is the big issue. Because if the game was balanced, divers, and classes weren't allowed to fall from ladder, Tickatus wouldn't be around and this topic wouldn't exist.
Meanwhile, i could completely freak out if people here continue to defend the warlock corrupt package.
There is no justification for the fact that a simple 6 mana 8/8, wich can be easily activated by playing a higher cost card, destroys 5 Cards (twice) of the opponent, NONE.
This Card is badly designt and there are no two opinions.
It just feels unfair and cruel to play helplessly and senselessly against corrupt warlock if you don’t play an agressive deck yourself.
This Card is badly designt and there are no two opinions.
The card is a good and needed design for the game. We need tools to interact with the opponent's ressources. The main problem is that this type of card should be "high risk, high reward". It was always kinda good until now. Mill mechanics were making your opponent draw and could only mill him on full hand (which means you give your opponent solutions before removing some to them). Or cards like Dirty Rat had that "random" part -> you might remove a good combo piece... or not and give him an advantage...
Right now, Tickatus holds two problems : no counterplay possible AND "nearly no risk, high reward", what other cards of the same design didn't had until now, or a maximum of one of those two. You nearly don't need to deckbuild to play him, neither do you need a huge package of cards to make him work, and neither do you need to play bad cards for that. You just need to stay alive and stabilize the game.
RIght now, Tickatus and the deck he's in are bad, because warlock is bad as a control deck, because he lack heals and numerous good early defensive cards, which only makes him good against combo and control (because of Tickatus), and OK against mid (because good mid/late control if he managed to save his HP in early). BUT... in 2-3 months... new year, new cards, a lot of old cards disappear... And maybe control warlock could get good against aggro. Who knows ? BUT, if it gets good against aggro, NOW it will be a huge problem.
Right now it's "counterable" -> aggro meta. Not fun for everyone but, hey, it works, could be way worse, so let's wait and see until some months pass...
Anyone saying Tickatus is not insanely OP and broken as hell just remember, this card is a hundred times slower than him and still see play in some lists and looks hot garbage in comparison:
This is a very well design when you think about, there is no problem to be able to destroy opponent deck if you earn that, Tickatus feels much more like a cheat engine than a real card in this game.

And there were constant bitchfests about Rin from control players at the time. I'd necro a few of them if the ridiculously opportunistic warning system wouldn't come calling again.
Now the story is that Rin is well-designed. That's actually comical, especially given that Rin would frequently get there against true control decks by turn 12 or 13, in which case it would destroy considerably more than ten cards. I still have screen shots of the chat abuse that would follow.
Don't get me wrong, Rin wasn't anywhere near over-powered, it simply served a purpose in the meta. Sort of like Tickatus.

That’s not true at all. Tickatus is usually discounted to 4 mana, thus providing easy fulfillment of conditions.

It just feels unfair and cruel to play helplessly and senselessly against corrupt warlock if you don’t play an agressive deck yourself.
It’s hard to even go on the offensive against Corrupt Warlock, since they have over 10 board clears they frequently use. Tell me how I’m supposed to go aggro against them when they use any combination of the following:
- 2x Dark Skies
- 2x Hysteria
- 2x Cascading Disaster (+2 more once Y’sharji comes out)
- 2x Twisted Nether (which is often combined with 1-2 0-cost Strongman)
Keep in mind that on top of all this removal, Warlock will also be swarming the board at every opportunity. And Tickatus is the final “screw you” nail in the coffin. By the time you are finally getting close to stabilizing, there goes the rest of your deck with no way to fight back.
And people keep saying, “Oh, just add Elysiana!”... well, I don’t know if those people play with her often, but many times the choices you get are janky and terrible, random junk neutrals that I only ever see as Arena options. Ok, how am I supposed to pull off a comeback when the best option Elysiana gave me is a Magma Rager.... lol.

Tell us at what rank you are playing, which deck and how many control warlocks you face, cuz that list with double nether and strongman is so bad, galakrond package is the best one to play warlock.

You can't compare Rin and Tickatus. Against Rin you had enough Counterplay, against Tickatus you have nothing. I don't think we have a problem right now, because nobody plays Control. Aggro is way to good. Just wait until Rotation, there might be a meta change and if that happens, Tickatus alone will kill Control. Same happened back in the days, when Jade Druid was a thing.
