TL;DR: the delay is predicted, but because of that, it sucks even more. Everyone protecting blizzard and claiming: "that's what they always do" is the reason, why they keep on doing it.
When you have your own game company, and then try to launch a game wiith 20 millions of people all trying to login / buy stuff, all at the same time, then maybe you will know how hard the things can be. Think about it :)

i completely understand that. but how can this still affect the servers up something like 12h after release in NA? I thought its more of a server burnout due to an initial rush which would last a couple of hours.
No. Blizzard is one of the most experienced company in this field. Or, well, it should be. They do know that a tremendous amount of people will log on, they have to prepare for it. Besides, the major update was made one week ago, here it just consists in making the card available for crafting and releasing a new type of booster. I'm certainly not aknowledgable when it comes to servers and so on, but I do not see in what way such a small update can provoke a mess like this.
Also, Blizzard is doing it EVERY SINGE UPDATE. This is completely unprofessional. It's not being an impatient child to say that this company is not doing its job correctly, it is the truth. I do not care whether I have to wait some more days to get my hands on the new shiny cards, it is simply that the way Blizzard is postponing over and over again the update for EU, and also how unable they have been to handle the problem on NA server is everything but a demonstration of skill and profesionalism.
The game released on time in NA. It will most likely release on time in EU too. They have probably been working hard all night, and all day to make sure the roll out in EU will be smoother than the release in NA.
Well, I love technical issues, that is what makes memories. I remember every single World of Warcraft expansion launch. Why? Because it took hours trying to get in, and all the silly bugs that popped up everywhere.. :D

"On time" was exactly 16 hours and 49 minutes ago
This. I'm in France, and have been to work all day long, so the update being released at 2AM (the time when it was suppoed to be released) or now doesn't change anything for me. But it is driving me bananas how the problems happen everytime. You say the update was released on time for NA, but there has been so many problems for people as to buy packs or even log on, we cannot consider this as a real release.

world of warcraft, however, is a living and breathing mmo world. hearthstone is a "little" cardgame with no mmo interaction.
different definitions of history made. there are no 40 man raids in hearthstone that were really buggy and uncomfortable, yet somewhat enjoyable and made fond memories.
Few months ago I witnessed the failure of Naxxrams release---all the hype train and all the propaganda that blizzard deliberately piled up before actually fulfilling a basic promise which can be simply interpreted as being punctual and credible. However, I felt a lie, no matter how much the white knight or fanboys defended at Blizzard side
I want to draw a clear line here—I like hearthstone as a game itself, but not the way blizzard handles it, especially when it comes to personal relationship and community communication system. Blizzard produces high-quality game to the world while has the most incapable inter-playerbase communicating skill, which in many ways irritates players, therefore always ended up in a place where they could have easily avoided.
Specifically speaking about hearthstone, I have passed the age of rage and become too mature to get angry about the delay this time. Additionally, I deeply comprehend that one player’s unsatisfactory against a game industry giant as blizzard itself is somehow pointless and intangible. Thus, I would most likely calm down and enjoy GvG for free. I suppose that would be the best cooperation I can manage with blizzard.
PS this post is not even a reply to any posts above, but rather something I write to me myself.
I just don't get the thing. Logged to America with GvG yesterday, everything worked fine, opened free packs and done 1 arena run. Logged to America today, everything working. No lags, shop is open, gold purchase working fine.
Cards are working fine, arena is working, can't see any problems with logging in on America.
No patch for EU? Just close the freaking store, if u can't handle such a load on bank account. Or open it for half an hour a day at random time for the rest of the week. Bingo, people playing arena building collection, having their cards. Geek people getting their hundreds of packs, ets.

Sry for grammar. I'm Russian who learned English from computer games. And I'm kinda learning Spanish with Hearthstone.
Forget about the plan to see it released on the 9th, let's just hope that it will eventually be launched and working without any troubles by the end of the week.
The good thing is that no one on the serveur has the new cards so you can still play the game. If some people had the new cards and others didn't, THAT would be outrageous.
:'(Oh Noooss, Its Naxx all over again!!! Ill be back in a few weeks....
#disappointed
When one s just isn't enough.

It is still December 9th. Have they ever said what time of the day it was going to be released?
same here. shortly before midnight so they can say they stuck to the 9th. but it will still be buggy and there will be technical issues.
compensation? now way. but im happy to be proven wrong

The reason people just roll with it is because we don't have a fucking choice :/

An eye for an eye, leads the whole world blind.

Thanks Blizzard for completely slaughtering my hype for GvG.
I better get 3 legendaries in my free packs to nullify my current disappointment.
The pioneers used to ride these babies for miles
Ohhhhh, so they meant 23:59 PST on Dec, 3rd. That makes sense, we are the ones that were wrong the whole time.
