Want to hear what other people think about this logic. I'm not sure if the 2k gold deal for the mini set is worth it if you hoarded enough packs. The legendaries seem really lackluster, and if you have around 20 packs you can probably get all the rares and commons for free. I know that the legendaries might become better in the future but aren't 20 packs for the next full expansion more valuable?
Surely there's a point in just going for the packs if you don't want the extra legendary cards you get in this deal. 20packs=100 cards in a completely new set, but will only give 1 legendary on average (not sure how the first 10 rule affects this thou)
Edit: There is also the question of dust value. I think that 1 pack = 100 dust on average. These legendary cards alone grant you 1600. So 2480 in total if I'm not wrong. Again depends on how many packs you expect to open next expansion. I would just get the mini set for 2000
I dunno why you wouldn't buy the bundle, 2000 gold isn't THAT much. It only took me around 2 weeks to get 3k gold. Then you can just use your packs afterward, since you will have all the cards duplicate protection will be in your favor.
OP has the point. it's a really hard decision, hope somebode can do a math on it.
If you open 20 packs + (4-5 packs on February 1 + 7 Rare cards) - from your Ladder Reward you will have all commons, rares, 4 epics and 1 Legendary (on average). You will be missing a couple of epics and 3 Legendaries. In like 2 weeks you'll see if any of those cards are really good and can craft them with 3-4k dust.
And you will still have 2k gold for next expansion.
So the 2k kind of decide just the epics and Legendaries (if you have 15-20 packs hoarded now). But if you usually get like 10k gold stacked prior to expansion the extra 2k will just decide on extra epics and legendaries of the big Expansion (cause you would get all commons and rares from your 10k anyways). So it's kind of the same thing in the long run, if i'm not missing something. Would appreciate your thoughts, boys and girls!
I don't have dust to craft many cards but I do have the gold to buy the bundle so I suggest that everyone in my situation should pay 2000 gold and get all the cards. Save dust for cards from other expansions if they become meta.
Considering it takes on average 80 packs to get 4 legendaries, 15 bucks or 2000 gold is definitely "good value". And especially considering that dual-class cards are more usefull in general (can fit into twice as many decks) it seems like its definitely worth it. The only exception would be if you have hoarded enough packs (about 30-40 I guess) to get all the rares and you dont like the legendaries.
I was actually really liking the 2k gold for whole set idea at the beginning, because it really seems like great value, but now I'm thinking it through...
Of the new cards revealed, many of them look great, but I've already come to terms with the fact that I won't be able play every class with competitive decks, so I will focus on just a few classes. So realistically, the only cards I want for sure are the rogue and mage cards... but I can also craft them this time, so aside from the rogue/mage dual class legendary, it's just some rares.
Now it doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal to get the whole set for me, so I'm considering saving my gold for the next expansion...
This new set and the way that it has been released is absolutely great, being able to craft them and then also open them in existing packs is quite nice. February rewards for ladder will already have new rares in it so... maybe I'll pass.
The decision is pretty straightforward. If you want to have at least two of the Legendaries, you should buy the bundle and then open thr boosters.
If you want one or none of the Legendaries, then you should forego the bundle, as the boosters should be enough to get all the commons and rares and it's better value to just craft the one Legendary and hold the gold for later.
I'm a legendary hoarder so I'm getting the bundle. If these legendaries aren't interesting to you, I wouldn't get the bundle and I would just focus on the regular packs.
With the dust economy In this game we all know how difficult it is to get one legendary. You can dust 40 packs ($50!) and just end up with about 1000 dust...which is still not enough for one legendary.

I really didn’t liked new legendaries at all, hope the last one to be better
I’ll wait for full card reveal before deciding to pay gold for all new cards
It looks like all 35 cards are there
I don't have dust to craft many cards but I do have the gold to buy the bundle so I suggest that everyone in my situation should pay 2000 gold and get all the cards. Save dust for cards from other expansions if they become meta.
If you intend to craft a golden legendary (Envoy Rustwix in my case), should you buy all the cards or only open packs?
Take a walk on the wild side...
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to wait until I could look at all the mini-set cards.
This is a F2P Handout
This is also a P2W Thirst Trap
indeed they are, 2K gold offer is pretty generous, I think I’ll buy it, and test new cards to be sure of how good they are
Treat this as an adventure. And its always worth buying it

Many of those new cards will be staple in meta so not spending 2000 gold may cause a solid setback for your ladder/tournamnent decks.
Get the whole set. No extra duplicates. Efficiency over volume.

Maybe!
but if you also play duels, it is worth spending 2000 gold to unlock the new powers and treasures.

When does that matter when we still see decks from 2018 being played when a expansion is released.
