My name is Dirvenstylez. I am playing hearthstone since GvG. Ever since I am playing each and every day. HS is become my go to hobby. When i'm on the train, on the couch or even the toilet @ work :P.
Right after The Grand Tournament i became legend for the first time and since that moment i did it almost every month. It became a thing to get top 200 legend at the end of the month and i did it 3 times.
These days it is nearly impossible for me to get high legend. I have a winrate of around 68% but I don't have the time to grind for high legend anymore. The new ranking system really did me bad. There are around 30k(?) legend players at the end of the month and if i want to try a meme deck for a few game it backfires me so hard that it is nearly impossible to get high legend again.
I have sort of lost fun in HS since the new ranking system. And my question is if other people are experiencing the same thing as me. And if they got any tips for it.
Playing for legend isn't the draw for me, it's just a fun side effect that only happens once in a blue moon. I play for fun, and meme decks with insane win conditions are part of that. if you are having fun playing weird off-meta decks, then continue to do so, would be my advice. Don't chase legend. There truly is no need, unless you are playing Hearthstone as a means of financial gain or are a streamer.
But honestly, if playing to get a high rank is what motivates you, then you gotta be serious about it. Play the meta, build a deck that has tech cards for the other high tier decks on ladder.
But if you like playing meme decks and having fun with silly stuff, and want to keep your rank, then there's always casual mode.
My advice would be: play what you find fun in ranked, and see where it takes you, but don't let the numbers bother you. Sometimes you may be surprised at how much you can win with something silly or a homebrew deck.
The only reason I want to play more after I reach legend is to get in high legend and play against pro players. So far I faced silvername, boarcontrol, sintolol, sinned, thijs, bunnyhoppor and won against most of them without stream sniping. It's a really nice experience to see how these "pro" players make their plays and it's more fun if you play against them instead of just watching their streams.
My advice, if you still want to play meme decks and have fun with a monthly grind, is that you stop grinding ranks around diamond rank 5. That floor is perfect for people who still want to experience the meta and goof off. If you want to aim for legend each season, it’s just a little bit more of a grind afterwards.
Once I reach D5, I try different decks until I find one that's fun to play. If I reach legend, fine if not it's fine too. Reached legend twice. And I never play for long hours.
I got legend once for the classic legendary. I don't think I will ever try again. To me it's just a boring grind with little to no reward for doing it.
it's been awhile since I hit Legend so I don't remember what it's like, but this season I'm 1 star away from legend and I plan on switching to meme or my pet decks once I do hit Legend, because I'm hoping many others would have the same idea?

I’m usually reaching legend around rank 1000 and in my experience 95% or players are tryhards playing the same net decks. Once my meme decks get me to 3k or so... it’s the same. Not sure what the morons are trying to achieve.

And then MEGA Legend after that.

You really screwed up wasting that MMR.
The good news is, when you eventually DO get it back, it is easier to stay there, and you get those sweet 11 stars.

It's halfway to ULTRA legend... duh!

THE WORLD!!!!!!! ?
I mostly play for fun, but always tryhard to get legend if I’m close to get there, which happened in the last two months

Why not the entire Milky Way? Or the universe? :P
