Just wanted to address my current status with the rewards track.
I used all my gold when the expansion released.
A week ago I reached lvl 50, currently at 64, 700 gold in seven days, and I’m mainly playing everyday upon quest completion. Maybe an hour/hour and a half per day.
My current gold is 5845. I usually got around 6k or 7k gold when expansion ended. I’ve at most 9 weeks for grinding more gold. That’s 6300 additional gold.
Result=12145 gold. Let’s say I’ll get 10k maybe? I’m lazy, I don’t want to make the math with the achievements and probably I’ll complete less in future week.
We have to take in account that they also gifted 500 gold and 5 packs. Currently at 25 packs. That lets us with 9500 gold and 20 packs (aka 2000 gold)
HOW IS THAT UNFAIR? I think people complained and complains a lot without actually doing the proper math
If I keep going at the current rate of 700 gold per week, as I said before, I'd reach almost 12k gold PLUS 20 packs that I got from rewards track (maybe there is a special quest also, I don't remember)... That's from 5 to 6k more gold than I used to get, and also 20 packs, which they are 2k gold... Even if I stop doing achievements and let's say I get 500 gold per week, I'd get almost 10k gold dude, that's 3 to 4k more...
This should cover the miniset AND also a lot of additional packs...
Yeah, right now I feel like the current state of the rewards track is good. It definitely helped that they made adjustments after the complaint outbreak we had.
Ultimately, the game is still very expensive to get a full collection, and even though I put money into bundles for the last two expansions, it still feels like I'm missing a lot of legendaries, but at least right now the gold is enough to get packs and have a few competitive decks.
The adjustments they did gave like let's say 1k additional gold (since they removed some packs and increased rewards). I honestly think that the rewards track was fine before. Now is better, which don't get me wrong, it's something good! But they said before that they'd be touching A LOT the system. This adjustments probably were going to happen. Maybe they'd taken more time for reaching to the current state...
Let's be honest. People didn't do the math. They just complained without even giving it a try. Just like they do before every expansion release... Even Hearthstone Mathematics predicted similar gold to what I'm getting.
This community will ALWAYS complain. Even if they do something preeeetty good. Even if they give us one of the best expansions this game had (I'm looking at you Scholomance), and the most balanced meta since I DON'T KNOW... Guess what, they're going to complain.
Don't get me wrong, I also wish this game gets cheaper. But I mean, it's a fucking company. People think companies do charity lol. I don't know of any company which gives you free stuff for no reason. They're probably going to quote LoR, and guess what, that isn't free. They're giving free stuff just for getting a bigger playerbase. When they reach the numbers they want, that thing will probably start to change. It's basic marketing lol.
Sorry if my english is sloppy, it clearly isn't my main language lol.
I don't complain because it's just a game, but here's how the rewards experience was to me.
Before the changes, I could complete 2 quests in a single game and get, like, 80 or 90 gold. I could play another game, complete the third quest, and end up with around 120 gold in less than an hour.
I am a player that will never grind. I will never play more than an hour a day. For the amount of time that I am willing to invest, I get nearly ZERO gold a day on average. Completing quests gives me points instead, which are abstract to me because I'm not invested in the rewards track.
Also, my favorite game mode is arena, so I would rather get gold than packs. If packs are a part of the rewards system (which I think is the case, but I'm not totally sure), then I am getting less of the rewards that I want to play the game mode that I prefer. I can't turn packs into arena runs.
Now I play less than an hour a week because I just don't have any motivation. I'm not complaining, but there is definitely something wrong here when it comes to players like me. They catered to players like you, and that's fine, but keep in mind that there are other types of players. With the old system, both of us could enjoy the rewards. Nowadays, I don't think that's the case.
Dude you only have one quest per day. What you said has any sense. I'm also completing two or three quests at the same time sometimes (depending of the quest I got)... Now there are even more quests, since they added weekly quests. And you can still play arena for completing the rewards.
I'm getting almost twice the gold without counting the packs dude. And playing one or one and a half hours per day. Are you sure you didn't fall into the senseless anger of this community? I don't know how getting twice the gold is bad.
How much gold you got right now? And how much you used to get?
However, I do agree that this hit mindless agro players that played 8 hours a day for getting more gold. But having a big chunk of your playerbase playing only agro just for getting gold... Is something good for the rest of the players? I don't think so.
They punished some people, indeed, but rewarded the rest in general.
Don't get me wrong, I also wish this game gets cheaper. But I mean, it's a fucking company. People think companies do charity lol. I don't know of any company which gives you free stuff for no reason.
Yeah, I don't argue that they shouldn't charge money for their product, and I like to contribute when I can and when it suits me. I mean, the card game model should be like this.
I suppose the biggest thing is that you can't "completely" enjoy this game without spending more money or time than seems reasonable. Because even if you spend $100 on card packs or bundles, you still won't likely have all the cards, and that's just one set.
I've come to terms with it, and just play a few different classes, and if I unpack something that lets me deviate to another class I might try it out. But without certain cards, good decks are sometimes hard to build, and that's just how it is.
Can't play if you don't have the cards, just like in real life.
The complaints back in the days were actually based on spreadsheet calculations and showed that you'd get about 1 K if you just played decent decks on ladder. Those calculations might have been a bit optimistic and were arguably mostly relevant for aggro farmers. The newest version of the system is good IMO, the old 10g system was only appealing to the aggro people and barely did anything for people playing mostly bg and arena. I like to steadily use my g, so I can't say for sure how much more gold I've gotten, but it seems like significantly more. I did get more economic with it thou, so there might be some behavior involved bias here as well
u're one of those dam people that when it's all said and done and heaps of people left u go well it wasn't that bad and there's a sea of people and community pissed. VERY VERY VERY SMALL sighted and silly minded people like u keep corporations happy

But did heaps of people leave?
I haven't noticed a decline in my queue times when I want to play.
And if people are still upset, I certainly don't see it anymore. People were being very vocal about their issues all over forums, this one in particular. So either those people left and it didn't change anything, or they actually are happy with the changes now.

You certainly don't lack faith yourself lol. Do you always talk like that to people you disagree with?
i play an average of 1 hour a day and i'm at 62. ~6k gold, which is way more than i normally would have at that point. Most expansions i was at 7-8k Gold when it hits, now i should have ~11,5k Gold (without any promos in between) when the expansion arrives early April.
LVL 74, no pass, 3915 gold, extras from last two expansions not dusted yet. Still missing gold per 3 wins...
You spent your gold before, or you have some crazy bug were you lost like 4k of gold lol. Seriously, I don't understand how you reached to that number. I had 0 gold and now I have 6k at mid expansion. I have pass, but pass gives you more XP, not more gold.

They would have done all of those changes anyways. They implied it since the release of this thing that it may see big balance changes. And the changes weren't THAT big... Like 1k or so more of gold. It was slower though, glad they fixed that. Chill dude, you need to go to therapy for handling that anger. Meanwhile I'm going to block you.
I think I like the state of the reward track better than the previous reward system, however the middle of the track felt like garbage to me and I still think that the initial implementation was rather poor.

Are you factoring in the mini set cost? To get just the rares and commons, people have predicted about ~20 packs of that.

I'm at lvl 63, just a shade under 5k gold. I don't remember if I bought any packs since the reward track started, but I don't think I have.
I feel like I'm swimming in gold, compared to where I usually am when this far into an expansion.
I like the reward track, and I like the changes that are coming to it.
Overall, I'm a pretty happy player.
I'm at lvl 70, 7k gold (with pass and almost all achievements done).
it is OK.
