They only need to change the text to "3 cards" instead of "5 cards" and there you are. Still perfectly playable and hurts but doesn't obliterate combo and control. So simple. And still they don't seem to care at all. Why, it's beyond me. The dust refund? I would never dust such a card, honestly, even with the nerf.
Well its actually the reason control and combo dont have a better place in the meta, its not doing much but the existence of it changes the mets on its own.
Cool card though, would also feel better at 7 mana so its not as consistent in corrupt
I'm playing Warlock since beta, and it has been my favorite class so far.But tickatus does something unnatural. I wouldn't mind discarding 5 cards from my deck but since it can be copied so easily, things become silly.Tickatus and Broom are problematic cards at the moment.Game is so much aggro oriented and we really can't perceive how broken they are.

I could change the world, but it is not open sourced.

Again, it's not relevant in the meta. This is not why we're not seeing combo & control decks.
Leave Tickatus alone! it's more like a Combo deck, to punish control. Control always loses to combo, guys. Just try and play it yourself, before you complain. Get your face smashed by aggro 10 times in a row, before you get a nice match vs control, which you still might lose to some crappy rng
The main thing stopping control and combo is shaman refilling the board with "must clear or die" on turn 4, turn 5, turn 6, turn 7 and turn 8. Tickatus isnt even relevant.
This card sucks so fucking much, it’s a waste of lifetime if your playing a control deck, just insta concede
It’s wayyyyyy to easy to acitvate.
6 Mana 8/8 destroy 5 fucking cards just because you played one card with higher costs? it’s just a six mana card, lol !? and you can reduce it’s cost cause it’s a demon.
The Mindrender Ilucia Nerf was just a joke, a 3 Mana 1/3 wich can backfire so fucking hard vs a 6 Mana 8/8 wich destroys 30% of your opponenta deck...twice.
Tickatus is only relevant when two really grindy decks face each other. If the Warlock manages to get multiple casts off to destroy your deck and win either that's a fair tech choice by the Warlock (eg anti-Fatigue Warrior tech or anti very late game combo tech) or the Warlock would have won easier and faster with a better control deck.
I've lost 2 games to Tickatus since launch. I play both Wild and Standard. In wild, Raza Priest is still doing fine, and Standard has been 90% aggro since way before Tickatus.
Twice have I killed a tickatus warlock in standard with fatigue damage (with control warrior), which by itself should be humiliating enough. With quest shaman I usually manage to pull out a combo that kills them, even if they burn y'shaarj and half of my corrupt cards. Sure it has a really good win rate against OTK and some control decks, but every deck has it's highly favored and unfavored match-ups. Tickatus is not a problem for the meta, it just stinks to play against with slow, single win condition decks. Git gud....
btw: Sorry for repeating what most people already pointed out
Those that are saying Tickatus is fine as is probably don’t play much control or combo decks in high rank. One card should not be able to auto win against these decks but when combined with Y’Shaarj it’s ridiculous. Play any Paladin (especially pure) or priest deck against a decent skilled tickatus deck player and you will see what I’m talking about..I just auto concede.
I don’t understand the reason why they haven’t nerfed Tickatus because it will limit and create problems to future expansions in control and combo decks. Either nerf Tickatus to 8 mana or make it burn both players cards. At 8 mana it’s not as easy to activate. If they nerf it to make it burn both players cards, it limits warlock to play aggressive only decks while still disrupting control or combo decks.. In conclusion, one class yet alone one card should not punish and limit all other types of control or combo decks.

Well I just hit legend with a combo shaman deck, mostly winning against tickatus. Before that I climbed with control warrior. I recon paladin would do even better than those two decks, by doing early pressure with truesilver, braggart and power of authority. Tickatus forces you to play faster, which makes control decks less repetitive to play with.

>paladin or priest
So... literally the deck that this hard counters, and the worst class in the game?
I have zero issue with Tickatus lock with my shitty spell mage or with Old God Warrior. His deck winrate is around 53% which is decent but not op. He's just a "win more" card; he will get you further ahead if you're already ahead but he's not gonna win games for you alone.

What high ranks dude? Is this a joke? Ladder is full of zoo warlocks and rogues with some demon hunters and enrage warriors here and there. Tickatus is not a problem for the meta and wasn't since its release. Thijs was playing highlander mage a few days ago and managed to beat most of the gala warlocks even with 5-10 cards burnt. But ofc it's easier to complain about something than actually try to counter it.
First it’s not a joke. I’m assuming you are a warlock Tickatus player so I understand why you are defending it. Not everybody faces aggressive zoolocks, rogues or DH. I think the game matches you differently. You say that Thijs can beat gala warlocks but he does not represent the casual or normal player. Not everybody is a pro player.
My argument was for us players that play Control or combo decks. There is no deny that Tickatus as of now, is a problem for control and combo decks now and in future expansions.

BTW, I play standard. I don’t know about wild.
Unfortunately you can’t balance a game around the casual player base, because you will completely unbalance the game at a competitive/professional level. If a card appears overpowered, but is countered by more skilful play, nerfing it is not the correct decision.
Tickatus is an awkward card for some decks to deal with, but if you do the maths, it isn’t remotely favoured to cause an auto-win against most of the current combo decks. This is due to the fact that most of these decks are free to run multiple copies of the majority of their combo pieces, while hitting the key legendary (which you would absolutely keep in your mulligan against Warlock if you had it) is 1 in 3 at best assuming you can play Tickatus twice before 20 cards are drawn, which is not guaranteed.
If you’re laddering with a control deck that’s designed to win the game by grinding your opponent out, and Tickatus Warlocks are popular at your elo, PUT ELYSIANA IN THE DECK. Once again the Warlock is no better than 1 in 3 to mill her and she completely negates 2x Tickatus, so if your deck has an inherent weakness to having its cards milled, maybe fucking tech against it.

It's just not a particularly relevant card in the current meta. But I agree this would be a very sensible nerf.

Card would be useless at that point. Why are we complaining about it anyway? I don't remember the last time it was used on me.

Tickatus is just a bad deck, sometimes i lose to control priest even though i drop Tickatus twice and its awful against all aggro on Ladder.

10 mana 8/8 taunt battlecry shuffle cards you drawn with your heropower into your deck. corrupt they cost 0(demonic studies have same rotation)
