I'd like to see the rope changed completely. Introduce a clock system similar to poker. Every round you get 6 seconds added to your rope-bank. The bank holds a maximum of 60 seconds. That way you're encouraged to play within the round timers, but there is a bank you can pull from on the occasion that you have a lot of things to do, or you need extra time to think. But a constant roper is only able to "rope" for 6 seconds a turn.
Just give experience points for ending a turn. Not for time played. Problem solved.
Lorcen, I like your idea. I would actually love If we could bank time for ourselves. Sometimes with otk decks I don't have enough time to think of a creative lethal.
Good idea, but considering card like Yogg or shudder that will suck your entire bank for playing it and some combo decks i'd say that the idea needs some thinking

Why do you need a “creative lethal “ when u are doing otk anyway. You have lethal then you should just do it so people don’t have to wait for your creative juices to kick in .

Sometimes one of my otk cards might be burned due to tikatus or not in my hand yet. If I have a few seconds more I can think things through and figure out another way. It's Just me though, you may be really great at just figuring it out right away.
Just remove XP for time played. It is awful for the game. I am pretty sure I faced 2 ropebots recently, those things are even more annoying than the previous bot waves.
I've been playing the game for 6 years and I can count in one hand the amount of times I've faced an intentional roper. Is it really that bad for other people?
Here's an easy way to defeat those bad guys.
All Blizzard need is those two easy steps
1. Remove the opportunity to prolong turn and hide the rope by pressing hero power
2. Autoloss after several terms roping and not playing cards.
I think this would easily fix our problem.
What's your thoughts on it?

This idea leaves a posibility to farm either, main goal is to fix an exploit.

Guillotine would be my preferred method. We must make an example of these monsters.
How low does your MMR have to be to meet these ropers? ^_^

I do like the idea of rope-banking regardless.
SlydE is right! Once removed, there is no reason to rope anyway.
In the beginning of the month we're all low rank, so it's more common then.
Nope, the opponent is selected at your level (by MMR) at any rank.
Sane players do not use bots in the ladder (BG only :D) because of the risk of account ban.
I rarely see ropers / spam emoters (these types of behaviours often times match), but when I do, I do the following:
Game starts to look like a lose: Concede and move on. (most importantly to not give them any attention or show signs of frustration).
Game starts to look like a win: I'll rope the guy aswel and spam emote and only show lethal by the end of the rope. Sweet sweet justice.
