Everybody and their grandmas seem to be worried about how much XP or how much gold they make. Perfectly understandable. A few bold souls talk about the level they reach in the reward track. Ditto.
But today the question is about those mostly useless achievements points, you know, those good only for bragging rights? Those whose total you can find in the achievements tab (duh!) in the upper right corner, next to the tiny amber thingy? Yes, those!
Let's satisfy this curiosity, shall we? Thanks all! :)
I think to fully articulate how unimportant the number is to me, personally, I actually have no idea how many points I have right now, off the top of my head.
I have never once paid attention to what it is. I have gone back into the menu to check them off once I get them, so that the little dot disappears, but that's it.
Like, you would think I'd even have a rough idea, but I do not.
And I'm not trying to sound cool or anything, I just really never paid attention to it.
It's a shame that the score is so pointless and somewhat unfulfilling. Just knowing how many points you can get would at least add some feeling to that number. Otherwise one could hope that 80% of the points weren't gained by just playing pointlessly. having a high win streak or winning in a crazy way is an achievement. summoning beasts is not. In fact. If you can play HS for 4 months without summoning a single beast, THAT would be an achievement!

Nicely put. BTW this was my sentiment, too.
If memory serves well, in World of Warcraft you have something like "XXXXX out of YYYYY" on your achi page. And not only for the grand total, but also for each category, am I right (haven't played WoW in a while)? That gives at least some sense of purpose... if you care about those things ofc. If you don't, well, no harm done whatsoever.
Likewise, in WoW an achievement is usually something hard, crazy or funny (or all of the above), not just something trivial repeated a number of times. Well, TBH you might have the occasional boring one, like "Kill 500 critters" but most are at least somewhat exciting, like "Defeat that boss in this ridiculous way". In HS the proportion seems reversed.
And some WoW achis could bring you other stuff, like companions, mounts, titles... here there's the hero skin at lvl 50 and that's all.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy Blizz introduced achievements in Hearthstone (some of us have been asking that for years!). But it seems there's still a long way to go, to be on par with other games.
Meh! I dont even know / care about what level I am, let alone how much XP or achievement points I have, since it has very little impact on me or my game. I vaguely care how much XP I need to get the next gold reward on the track... sometimes... if I can be bothered to look. But that's really about it. I don't need XP, gold or Achievement points to keep farming people on Battlegrounds, so I don't care about it that much. Aside from when an expac rolls around and I'll buy some packs then.

The curiosity is strong with this one...

Oh and of course feel free to comment about your achi points experience.
Like, for example: do you even care? If so, did you set a goal for yourself? Is your progression satisfying? Frustrating?
don't care personally got about 5.9k but you guyz play all day so you might care
