it was catered for the noobs. ofc you have more gold because yall are casual players. i am at lvl125 now and its ridiculously slow.
How so? The most I could gather before this change was around 4800 gold when RR was released. For every other expansion I had between 2000 and 3500 gold even playing 2-3 hours per day in ranked mode. Why? I used to play control decks and I was in a disadvantage because of the old reward system. I took a break right after scholomance until DF and I started this expansion with 0 gold. I spent like 2500 gold from the track on packs, I got most of the cards and now I have 5900 gold playing just like before the changes. Yeah, casual players may get more gold than before but it will not be a big difference. Meanwhile players like me who play quite a few hours per day and don't play aggro win/concede on turn 5 will win way more gold than before. The best thing blizztivision could've done to this game.
Also the extra legendaries are great. First time with only the bundles and gold I completed the full set. (had 4k gold from last xpac and spent 3k from the track) Also spend another 2k on shcolomance packs digging for nerfed cards. I have some 1k saved and making from dailies, weekly and 2 hours on average an healthy 500 gold a week.
But with the extra mini expansion it might be tricky.

I agree, i play homebrew meme decks all day, and i am Lvl 104 now without the pass, new system works great for someone like me.
You are rewarded fine until lvl 50. Getting 50 gold for x thousands of xp for each lvl above lvl 50 is absolutely not worth in comparison with old system. Only way to play now seems to be completing quests few times per week.
What are you talking about thousands of xp? Every level past 50 takes you only 1375 xp per level. If you complete the weekly quest for 5 ranked wins you get basically 2 levels at once = 100 gold.
Im at lvl 73. The speed feels kind of similar to the last system at this point. Sure ladder gives a bit less when playing mid range, but arena and BG gives more.
I didn't care much for the old system, but having levels and a track feels more exciting, plus the quick rewards in the beginning, makes the expansions much more playable at week one for non-wales.
Not saying that it's perfect and the BP could certainly be more bang for the buck, but the old system was really just good for aggro climbers.
More gold already then I normally get for the whole expansion, and with duels I get a lot of gold/dust/packs which I'm saving up for mid expansion. I really only play about 6 hours a week, though I've been playing since 2016. Usually get to about platinum 1, would get higher, but I just don't play standard that much. For me as a long term good, but semi casual player (I have 2 kids and a rather busy life even outside that) it feels great and will continue my long term investment in the game. I wouldn't call myself casual at al though. In general in tournaments I rank 1st or second.
Thank you, Boulderfist_ogre, for the info. 1500 per level is really not that bad. Daily and weekly quests alone give you 13000 per week, so this is roughly 450 gold already. I am sure I can get 600+ gold per week easily with the new system. I was very critical about the track but I think it's ok now (at least for an arena/casual player like me). I wonder what the extra exp events will look like, if they even do them still. The only negative thing I noticed since the rebalancing of the new track is that I got a lot more 900 xp quests than before (7 in a row is my "best" streak so far).
On a sidenote, I really like the idea of achievements that grant extra xp. It's just a little annoying that you have to go into Ranked to reliably finish them and that some (Greybough or Oh my Yogg!, for example) take so much time. I think they should be doable as long as the specific set is in standard, but I understand why Bli$$ard isn't doing that. Funny thing is that you can do them in Arena and Duels and since I am an arena player, I got several achievements from epics like Darkmoon Rabbit without owning the card.

If this sentence is even vaguely true, then you just showed yourself up here, because considering you get 200+ gold from about level 25-30 or so, then you have earned upwards of 20,000 gold in the last 1-2 months since the expansion dropped. Compare that to the 50-60 gold per day before the reward track, and at most you would have earned 3,600 goldin that time; assuming you completed your quest playing every day, of course. So you have more than quadrupled (maybe even quintupled) your previous possible amount of gold farmed.
So either it proves your statement entirely false and that this is geared towards non-casual players, showing that you can earn far more if you play for hours upon hours (which you would require to get that level, especially since you claim it is also very slow to do so), OR you are straight up lying your ass off and have nowhere near as high a level as that - in which case you should probably back out slowly now.

Congratulations. You just played yourself...
Sorry, but I think you're forgetting that after level 50, each additional level grants 50 gold, not 200+. So from level 50-125 you earn 3750, and you earn 5650 gold from the reward track itself. A player that is level 125 will have earned a total of 9400 gold. That's still VERY good, but not quite more than 20,000 :)
You're still right though, Nefine definitely played themselves. Even people who were farming the maximum 100 gold for 30 wins each day as well as completing every quest would have gotten 9600 in two months IF every quest had been worth 60 gold on average. And that's not counting the extra packs, two legendaries, one epic and 2 tavern tickets (each of which is at least worth a pack + a bit of gold/dust).
In conclusion: The reward track is good, actually.
and the expansion isn't over and I'm only Lvl 44 right now.
At the end of last expansion I got 5K gold, spent 4K on packs (I always leave 1K open)
Now I'm over 5K and there is much time remaining to get even more!
I've way more gold than before. I'm fine with the new system.
i'm level 45 at 4.1k gold. normally at the end of an expansion I have 8k gold so we'll see what happens this time.

How much xp is needed per lvl when you are at 125?
I am currently at lvl 64 and it is still pretty good.

It caps at 1500

the new reward system definitely is better...
previously i got 2200 to 2300 per month... but the new reward system, i got more than 4k for the last month.
I'm at level 49, and expect to hit 50 probably day after tomorrow. Very casual player.
I don't remember having this much gold during any expansion. Been playing since right after Boomsday came out.
It took some getting used to, but I rather like the new system now.
