So I just opened my tavern brawk pack. It contained cenarius. I knew this before I hovered over any of the cards. Why? Because two awards popped up on my screen - Classic legendary collector and Classic Druid Collector.
Way to go to suck the fun out of pack opening. At least make the awards appear after the cards are opened....
I don't disagree with you... while it's a minor problem, part of the excitement in pack opening is finding out if you got a legendary, and when you do, which one it will be and if it'll be golden. If the game tells you you not only got a legendary but also what class it's for, it kinda takes away a lot of the fun. Not an issue that needs to be addressed right now when there's still a ton of game breaking bugs going around, but probably something that should be resolved in the future
If only blizz could address all the whiney b*itchy BS that floods out of their player base.
Theres always someone who will complain about literally anything. Can you imagine being a mid level employee working for blizz who's seeing this sh*t everyday nonstop regardless of how hard you work. Sounds like a dream job that would be a nightmare in reality.

Yeah, we're talking about first world problems right here.
Not that I disagree, the achievement should pop up after you see the card... but I mean, is it really "sucking the fun" out of it? I would still be excited to see it, even if I knew it was there.
It's like, I know what one of my christmas presents is going to be, but I'm still going to be happy to unwrap it tomorrow.
So many times I've been asked to explain my contention that the Hearthstone community is largely made up of professional victims who cannot be satisfied or pleased by anything. In each of these moments, I've been faced with a conundrum about which of the many posts featuring meaningless and tiresome complaints I should link.
That conundrum has been solved for all time.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.

The OP is just ranting about an annoyance. I see no exaggeration, no "this game sucks", no "I'm leaving for a better game" etc.
It's like feeling the need to tell someone that you didn't sleep well because of a mosquito. It doesn't mean you're a drama queen, unless you overdo it.

Jesus H Christ . . . a good point on a hearthstone forum.
I can go with that. I'm still using this thread as an example of first world problem . . . ism . . . but good point nonetheless.
EDIT: As to the guy suggesting my avatar precludes me from talking victimhood, check the post history. I've waded into the most ridiculous assininity in this forum while giving people the benefit of the doubt that their ridiculous half-articulate bullshit was legitimate, at least in their own eyes. I do many things, but play the victim card ain't one.

Pack opening is an event in itself. Anyone who has bought a box of magic cards and sat for an hour opening and sorting knows this and hearthstone does it's best to emulate this with it's pack opening mechanics. So yes the information is a bit spoilery as it takes away the dopamine thrill of seeing the golden flash. It's also annoying in battlegrounds. As soon as a round starts achievements will flash. So you can tell immediately if you lost early or if a late battle is the last long before combat ends.
It's a simple change too. Just set the trigger for achievements to be after a pack is completely open or after a battle ends etc.
I usually close my eyes when opening packs and hope to click on the cards. Sometimes it takes almost a full minute to open a pack, due to clicking everywhere on the screen, but element of surprise is intact.
It's not just pack openings. Battlegrounds games have the same issue. It's minor but there's no reason OP shouldn't be allowed to share it. It's something the team would look into tweaking, just not high priority.
They should look into achievements in general actually. There are a few other issues, such as several gameplay achievements not tracking properly. I've tried completing a number of Darkmoon gameplay achievements (which award track experience) and they just don't work.

Rant over...
So your excitement got ruined by finding out 1 second earlier that you got a legendary...
the manz right if blizz don't fix this i'm gonnna quit and delete my accountz.

Uhm, it's a 1 time thing. Next time it won't happen so you can quit complaining.

100% agree with OP
sloppy game design again... don’t spoil the excitement in advance.
This is a general problem and not an isolated like some comments seems to point out lol.
like in battlegrounds, before the end fight starts...
it’s like facing Onyxia back in the days, getting a notification “wipe” calculated by game 7 seconds before.. how fun is it to continue the fight?

If you have access to a keyboard you can just spam spacebar and it will open up your pack without randomly clicking everywhere
