I wish I could say this is the most upsetting defect in the game. I really do. Unfortunately, I’m stuck with waiting for Blizzard to fix the legion of bugs that render the game nearly unplayable on my 3rd gen Ipad Air (which is nominally still supported but is getting no support in effect.)
So - I didn't mean that it was game breaking or in some other way harming my very existence - but 'cmon.
The whole point of "hover over and see the colour" when you're card opening is the excitment of wondering what card you've got. The achievement systmen needlessly ruin that (when it worked absolutely fine before)
It just smells like blizzard pushed the achievement through as quickly as possible without any playtesting at all.
Everyone seems to accept that stuff is just pish and we should be grateful for the scraps. I live my life to a higher standard than "it will do for now" and see no reason why Blizzard shouldn't do the same.
In many regards the internet has ruined games because the developer knows they can fix it later. Bring back the glory days of the ZX Spectrum when everything worked as the developer intended.../s...
I don't disagree with you... while it's a minor problem, part of the excitement in pack opening is finding out if you got a legendary, and when you do, which one it will be and if it'll be golden. If the game tells you you not only got a legendary but also what class it's for, it kinda takes away a lot of the fun. Not an issue that needs to be addressed right now when there's still a ton of game breaking bugs going around, but probably something that should be resolved in the future
It does not tell you what class it is for. In OP‘s example it could have aswell been a neutral legendary plus some other druid cards in the pack.
Imagine you decide when to show the achievement.. who the hell would agree to make the achievement pop before you even flip the cards? And BG achievements before round starts? Nobody.. Doesn't make any sence at all..
I think the OP has a point and can understand why people might get annoyed by this. I don't think it would be too hard for Blizzard to implement an option to toggle whether you show/hide achievements being displayed.
Why are people hating on this guy? He makes a completely sound and logical point. Sure, it isn’t having an enormous impact on the game or affecting balance, but when you’re developing software at this level, you’re supposed to be striving for a polished product, not some half-assed, lazily coded hash with obvious issues. Programming standards in games has been slipping in recent years, everything always feels rushed. I get now that everything is online you can hotfix and patch things, but version 1.0 should still be a finished product, and not just rushed out for the sake of meeting an arbitrary deadline.
is there any good from the achievements? I have completely ignored them anyway and mostly do not even read em..
Some of them give you something to strive for or some direction in the game. I'm not talking about the boring stuff like collection or "Complete Book of Heroes 9 times" (that's an actual achievement). The Battlegrounds achievements for example show you which heroes you have or haven't tried, etc. and the gameplay achievements are pretty good despite not all tracking properly
Some of them also give you experience points for the progression, so arguably they contribute to gold in a round about sort of way. Most (maybe all?) of the ones that give XP are linked to the class legendarys for the Darkmoon Faire.
the BG bug is the worst, for me. When you are actually in the final four and you have tried your very best to find the perfect combination and position of your minions and shortly after the Table turns, the achievement pops up and you know, you have lost, this is complete aggravation
Agreed that the pack-opening achievement spoilers make opening packs a little less fun, BUT since I’m here I would also like to mention that having an option to open packs in bulk would be nice :). Maybe a special screen to show you the legendaries/epics opened in the process?

It's cool ingame when you get 200 murlocs or something, but I agree that pack achievments, especially "legendary collection" popups are annoying.
Tickatus isn't fun or interactive

Agreed.
It doesn't make sense from a marketing perspective. It detracts from the addictive quality of card reveals, which I thought they wanted.

Holy cow. Just put a tape on your monitor . Or hide it with book or something

WoW achievements (giving it as an example only because it's the same company) show up only when you actually finish the task.
Imagine if guilds going for world 1st would get the achievement in the first seconds of pulling the boss, that would save a lot of time.
