Tickatus is basically Azari, except you don't need to do all the work. Azari would usually burn around 5 cards by the time it was used.
Tickatus should cost more mana, like 8 or 9, to ensure a really heavy play in order to activate it. Make it a 10-10, but move it higher in the mana curve to make it hard to Corrupt.
Control warlock with Rin was a far more powerful deck at the time. They crushed aggro, so they didn't care if they pulled off Rin's effect. If they played against a control deck the loss of tempo was nothing to them.
Lol, exactly. I've lost lots of games to etc warrior, so it's ok for warriors to infest your deck with bombs or kill you with endless galakrond face damage, or pull off a combo, but you as a warlock can't play a combo back?
I love Tickatus, because i‘m a Priest player. If he has it in his hand, i played it 3 times against him already xD and that happened 2 times only yesterday. I didnt count how often that worked all together. So although i play a super greedy priest deck, i never lost a single game against this card :D
But to be fair i can see, how it is annoying to other players.
I'm playing a control tickatus warlock deck, and actually, it highlights how broken some of the greedier control decks are. I've often pulled off the tickatus effect (which requires you to draw heavily and put yourself in the same position as your opponent) only to lose to RNG from a priest or mage. They often hang in there even with 10 cards gone, and steal the game through RNG burn, yogg, stealing my win condition, illucia, etc etc. I've often played tickatus against paladin and seen them generate tons of tempo damage and high tempo plays through cheap returning cards, and see them win even in fatigue. And druid is busted as all hell, so fast and powerful with 8/8 boards, duplicating their win condition, etc. Tickatus is not a major factor in the meta, it's not a reliable control killer. You're kidding yourself if you think it is, there have been better combo decks that destroy a control deck with absolute finality (if the meta was slower you'd probably see Maly druid again, forget about playing against that with priest).
these are exactly my experiences while playing tikatus... fatigue isn't a viable wincon anymore and seeing how druid crushes tikatus warlock with nearly infinite waves of big boards I'd say clown druid is the real control killer (even priest has "only" 3 boardclears which can handle a board full of clowns, but can't ramp to get there as early as the opponent and can't deal with all the other big drops druid plays)
My experiences when facing Tickatus Warlock while playing a slow/control/combo deck are that Tickatus is not even close to being a problem as the deck has effectively no other win condition against fatigue this means that it will still lose unless they manage to burn very specific cards of the opponent's deck. For example playing ETC Warrior vs Tickatus Warlock, one game they burned my ETC and 1 Bloodsworn Mercenary. I managed to draw Rattlegore and the other Mercenary and it was too much for Tickatus Warlock to deal with. Easy win even though my deck was gone at the end. Second game, they burnt my Rattlegore and both Mercenaries. However by the time they played Tickatus they were already down to 11 health. I had hit them with Sword Eater's weapon 3 times, the rest was all from hero power. So a single ETC, a bunch or random minions and a broom was enough to deal lethal damage. I have some similar examples playing Quest Shaman with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler against Tickatus Warlock, where managing to draw 1 Tour Guide, 1 Circus Medic and Y'shaarj before they deleted my deck was enough to give lethal. I can only recall losing 1 game where they hit Tickatus off Free Admission and were able to corrupt him on t5 and play him on t6, that was brutal, but it is really an extreme outlier scenario.
Actually I probably have a worse WR vs Tickatus Warlock with aggro decks than I have with non-aggro.
tldr: Tickatus Warlock has only one win condition vs slow decks which is very situational/random and not guaranteed. As such it is not at all a problem in this meta
Tickatus might be annoying at times, but it's nowhere near of making Warlock viable class. He unfortunately was largely missed by most of the major mechanics and innovations introduced to the HS in recent years (and what he got was terrible, since his Quest, Scheme and Galakrond were the weakest in the game), which makes him outdated and awfully weak. Other classes can cheat huge amounts of mana (like 15+ in single turn), generate tons of value (+40 cards in one match, also bypassing many cards and class design limits) and do crazy RNG swings from literally lose to win, while Warlock's best "trick" is to burn 5-10 opponent's random cards in very late game. Yay... He also has no weapons (aggro deck without weapon is laughable in 2020), no secrets, no reliable source of healing (control deck without healing currently cannot survive), no burn or burst and most of his legendary cards never see any play, even on meme level (because they suck or never get any support to work). He has to be remade from scratch, otherwise he'll remain dead class outside of any meta.
I have absolutely no problem with Tickatus whatsoever. In fact, I absolutely love to see a Warlock queued up against me. The deck is absolutely crap, it’s win condition is non existent and as long as you mulligan correctly and strategise with it in mind you should have absolutely no problem dealing with it.
For instance, if you are playing an OTK Warrior deck, you mulligan for card draw and Rattlegore. Your win condition is no longer your OTK, since it’s so likely that a piece of it is going to get burnt. Warlock can’t deal with Rattlegore unless they’ve put Silas in their deck as a tech card. Even if they have, you should either be playing Silas or Zephyrs to get it back anyway.
Another massive weakness of the card is that you can often tell when your opponent is going to play it. Have some common sense and when they’ve played a card that costs 7 mana or more... especially if it’s something obvious like an uncorrupted Strongman, make sure you build a board every turn as big as you can do they can’t afford to spend six mana on a vanilla 8/8. It’s really not rocket science.
Of all the cards to complain about in Standard right now, Tickitus isn’t even a minor problem.

Tickatus isn't a meta problem, he's just a problem if you want to play combo decks or control decks. Tickatus typically loses to aggro, shaman, paladin and rogue, so the only people tickatus is beating are people trying to play other, fun decks. Those people are usually losing against the meta anyway.
If you queue up control warlock, you are going to lose to the most popular, powerful decks on the ladder and are likely to beat everyone else. The only reason to play the deck is to give someone else a bad time, which, ok, if 40% winrate that lets you destroy cards is fun, have at it.
The card shouldn't exist, IMO, but it's not a meta problem.

People keep saying Warlock isn't viable, but after weeks of struggling in low diamond with various paladin/warrior decks, I switched to zoo and hit legend the next day. Most classes can't handle the type of boards zoolock can create by turn 3/4 and with revenant rascal, you can delay evolve shaman long enough to just kill him.
Yes, you can steal some wins with Zoo Lock, but regardless you'll have more bad than good matchups. Zoo isn't fresh or exciting to play anymore (it's pretty much the same deck archetype since beta), so why even bother? There are way better aggro options, cheaper, faster, more effective and easier to play, like DH, Hunter, Shaman or Rogue. If you are not Warlock's psycho fanboy (like me), you don't have any reason to play him nowadays.
I don't know, my ladder experience over the last two days with zoo was overwhelmingly positive and the deck is more fun (for me) to play than either aggro DH, HL Hunter or miracle rogue. Evolve Shaman was fun before it took over the meta.
If they kept the part where the warlock discards 5 cards as well I would be cool with that (i.e. uncorrupted - as it currently is. Corrupted - both players discard 5 cards).
It's still a pain in the ass for the opponent (potentially) but it removes the cheese fatigue element when it's played multiple times.
`Galakrond Warrior with Tickatus has a 59.7 winrate, which is as high as the other Tier 1 decks. You guys are vastly underestimating the power of this card, and that it can be played more than once. However, in Galkrond Warlock, Tickatus levels the fatigue playing field, and some games can be played a second time, but usally its not needed cuz of the pressure from Galakronds minions that are summoned the whole game.

Wow... Just wow. So the warlock has to draw like mad to pull off the win condition but also die in fatigue, being unable to generate the damage of warrior or the value of priest. Great suggestion.

Tickatus I can stomach, but copying it and even worse playing it again at 0 cost is DISGUSTING
Just reduce the number of burned cards to 3 and it's fine, without touching anything else.

As someone who plays exclusively control decks...

From Bronze 10 to Legend I had Tickatus played against me exactly zero times.
What are you smoking, bro?

Super fun to watch how the meta unfolds eh guys?
Not even close to a problem in this meta.
