Mix of salt thread post and legit post. But seriously, randomly generated win conditions are wack.
mage: generates 5 separate versions of ice lance on turn 4 to finish quest, later turns both flame strikes into 5 cost pyros (discounted spells after lunacy).
priest: I work all game to make cthun: thought steals it for 0 (double palm reading), KO’s me that turn. separate game priest pulls 2x corrupted tickatus from my hand of 7 cards.
Warrior: plays 3 Kargaths via generation and pulled all three primes with 15 cards left in his deck.
these were all moments in the last 24 hours that made me very sad and annoyed. I know it’s adds to the “fun” of the game but it feels like almost every class has casino decks.
How many games have you won by making correct choices on discovers or because you top decked the right card or because you got lucky with a generated effect? Did you make a thread about any of them? I would hazard a guess that some wins in these circumstances have actually felt really great. Unfortunately the rough also comes with the smooth.
I know myself I've had some of my best in game moments that have come as a result of luck, the right thing at the time etc and it's pulled some games from absolute no chances to win, to managing to win. Yeah it feels pretty shit when it happens to you but it also feels crap when a deck god draws and ruins you by turn 4. That's kind of just how the game goes and I've played long enough now to know that these moments balance out in general.
I get that they can leave a very bitter taste though, I had a couple of games last night that wound me up but losing in any game sucks and most of the time there's something to have a gripe about. One thing I've seen in games is that those who lose have a tendency to blame almost everything except themselves.
You can't blame yourself when the enemy priest keeps discovering and playing soul mirror over and over. 'Legendary' spell btw. That's just an example. Discover may be interesting but when it gets too common, there's no point playing around things anymore.
