but I hope you forgive me starting (yet) another one, given the fact that the last one is from 2 years ago. Also, truth must be told, I wanted to “give you” the (proof of) completion of a long-time personal goal: 1.500 wins with the 10 heroes.
The majority of wins were collected in the lowest ranks of Wild (before: ranks 20/ 19/ 18; now silver 10/ 9/ 8); however, the wins also include 5 runs to legend (some play inside legend) as well as 20-30 runs to rank 5 (diamond 5).
Why this goal you might ask? It has to do with the skins for 1.000wins. I’m just a fool for them shiny thingies (embarrassed smiley). At some point it seemed like a good idea to anticipate an even more beautiful skin for the next “plateau” (floor? step? level? English isn’t my native language) 500 - 1.000 - ? . Or do you think it’ll only be for 2.000 wins ?!
I wonder: Do you also have a goal in our game, other than to have fun // pass the time?

And 1500 with DH already! Do you just play aggro decks all day?
I don't mean to sound snarky. I'm genuinely impressed, but maybe also a bit worried :)
Thanks for your reaction Personal G, yeah, I love Lock a lot. That hero power has been unrivaled for so long, the card advantage it provides // the extra options it gives you is something I did not see in the beginning of my “HS-career”. When it began dawning on me… Didn’t want to play anything else than Lock for a long time :P .
No, I don’t play aggro decks all day ;) . Far from it. This whole endeavour wasn’t done with rush decks (Ok, ok, must be honest, there has been a stretch some years ago where I wanted to earn 100 gold per day as often as possible - played Zoolock for a time. That gets old quick.) Am a control-lover. What makes me happy in Hearthstone is ….
trying to have a good curve, trading, longer games in general, the opponent plays his/her best minion, I play mine, preferably with a cool ability (Greybough comes to mind, as I’ve played him a lot recently), let’s see who makes the better trades and who built his deck better for the current match-up — Think along the lines of Jade druid.
The deck has some powerful options, Jade Blossom on 3 is good, Spreading Plague can be very good, Ultimate Infestation usually is a great tool. The deck has game against mill decks (provided my 1 Idol isn’t milled) and does well in fatigue scenarios. I’d call it….. not an overpowered deck anymore. Fair comes to mind. Don’t know if you would agree.
(What makes me sad in HS is for example quest mage: Open the Waygate. When it feels as though the opponent plays his/ her game, I play mine // Where there’s minimal interaction between minions on the board. In such a game it somehow seems that the opponent and I are separated by a wall. Unfortunate for a game that you try to play together..)
I strive to have an enjoyable time playing. I like making homebrew decks that feel fun to play, for me.
Achieving this is sometimes difficult... because losing every game does not equal fun, but playing top tier meta decks that pros made also does not usually equal fun.
There's some math in there - but it's about finding a balance.
Recently, I've found that I have enough cards to make a "decent" deck with each class, so I think I might try to get the 500/1000 win hero portraits. I'll just do one at a time.
It used to be getting legend every month. With the new ranking system that is a bit to easy in my opinion. The goal i set for myself for now is getting first place with all BG heroes. I'm aiming for it since a weeks and i'm at 20 now. I can tell you it is very fun!
A little side mission is to get to know guys from the dutch HS scene. I know a few now and it is a nice community.
I've never seen anything close to this, wow. You must be playing like 8 hours a day for several years? And with a decent win rate overall.
Druid nearly 7k wins DUDE WHAT. :D
And yeah 1500 wins with DH, that must have been Odd DH in lower wild ranks. :P
Now that you have all classes above 1500 wins, what's your next goal?
“Playing 8 hours per day for several years”….? Hmmm… That could actually be not very far from my average since I learnt about HS in 2014. Nah nah, it has to be way less than that. I hope. Decent win rate -> Yeah, but it doesn’t count by reason of conceding vs every priest I came across. (Hate seeing Convincing Infiltrator on 5 Every Time - Makes for a very unvaried experience.)
When trying to get to Legend rank (always in standard) I enjoy a winrate of 54 / 55 % . Not high, at the low end of players reaching Legend, I would guess. I am not a good player: One that is capable of reaching Legend (barely), but without many days in the month left to actually play there.
Druid only close to 6.400 wins, not 7k! ^^ Ramping is a true passion.
The first 1.000 wins with DH were with “my own” dragon-Odd. It is a fast deck, obviously with 2 damage via hero power each turn, but it also includes Ysera. But ok, it does steamroll, you are right EnTaro. Thanx for your reaction.
Last 500 DH-wins came with an all golden highlander deck. It’s quite cool to “show off” that golden coin (when you are on the coin;) . The opponent must initially think they play vs a Whizbang the Wonderful-deck, but it ain’t. I do not own all the top tier cards golden, so "had to" make do with sub-par golden cards. Hurt the winrate; Not the satisfaction when it worked.
I honestly do not know what’s next! Uninstall. No, no, never. I am still pondering what should be next. I’ll come back to it.
I would say going for legend but that is pointless now I guess portrait but most classes bore me death that I play only 2 classes. I wish it for entertainment but not really.
I basically just like to play when I am eating breakfast and lunch. Nice quick game I can play a round or two on my phone while munching away. No asperations of achieving anything competitive. But, the highest rank I've reached is gold 1, so I'd like to surpass that at some point.

Thank you for giving your opinion. Totally agree regarding home-brews Pherosizm!
The idea is to expand your deck-size, shuffle 1 or more Corrupted Bloods into both players decks before Hakkar can be silenced or transformed; If luck isn’t on your side and you begin to draw (too many of) the Bloods, remove ‘em by playing Hemet.
Being able to make use of an otherwise obscure card as Hemet… priceless :D !
Recently, I've found that I have enough cards to make a "decent" deck with each class, so I think I might try to get the 500/1000 win hero portraits. I'll just do one at a time.
I remember that moment when you realize you Can actually construct a deck with all classes that has a decent chance of earning you a W. Feels like you are becoming versatile, doesn't it ;) ? That you don’t have a class anymore that is truly lackluster, a strategy with which you have no affection. For me that’s been Rogue for a long time. Found Valeera a very challenging hero to win with.
I am currently "working" on getting 500 wins with all classes. Right now, I am 40 wins away with mage and that will be done! :)
After that my goal is to reach 1000 wins with warlock since that is the first class I have ever played and also 1000 portrait Guldan looks sick!
My favorite classes are: Warlock, Paladin, Warrior and Shaman. So idea is to have as much as I can cards for those classes so I can be able to play almost everything with them (mostly meme decks), and maybe one day full golden deck for some of them, that would be really nice.
I play HS also from 2013/2014, almost every day at least one game. I reached legend back in the days when Star Aligner druid was a thing and never wanted to do it again :D - So stressful!
I play ranked only with fun decks and my favorite is probably Druid deck, which can get over 2500+ armor and I added Mecha'thun + naturalize as the second win condition (or when you run out of cards and don't want the game to go any longer).
I bought so many pre-orders and packs, that I don't really want to count it, but I decided to not buy any more and just save gold for Battlegrounds, which seems like more fun (probably because it's pretty new and kinda like a casino)... I also play it because the ranked ladder doesn't seem like fun anymore (maybe I will go back to it sometime).
These are my stats from classic HS + BG and thank you for your post, finally something interesting :)
Double legend most months, complete collection. Since I’m addicted and won’t quit, I’d like to collect all the card backs I’m missing (which is not possible, solid gold and all that), and I will probably farm the achievements at some point (currently 12k+). More gold decks is something I managed to refrain myself from considering.
It used to be getting legend every month. With the new ranking system that is a bit to easy in my opinion. The goal i set for myself for now is getting first place with all BG heroes. I'm aiming for it since a weeks and i'm at 20 now. I can tell you it is very fun!

Is getting Legend That easy dirven? All we read about here on the forum is what a demonic grind those 15 stars between Dia 5 and L are. For you it’s too easy (!) :P .
You did indeed set a cool goal for yourself, in getting first place with all heroes in the B-Grounds. How many heroes are there now dirven? Soon you will have to become proficient with the Old Gods as well!
Great to hear that you are connecting with other players in your local community. Isn’t that such a sweet side-effect of playing a game? Maybe you and the other members of your group would accept me as a small part of your community at some point (I live in Haarlem).
I would say going for legend but that is pointless now I guess portrait but most classes bore me death that I play only 2 classes. I wish it for entertainment but not really.
Why is going for Leggie pointless Feel_Pain?
Which two classes tickle you best? (Am a Drood and Lock adept myself.)
I assume the entertainment you derive from our game has declined, as you say you “play (wish) it for entertainment” but the game does not seem to accomplish that (anymore).
I basically just like to play when I am eating breakfast and lunch. Nice quick game I can play a round or two on my phone while munching away. No asperations of achieving anything competitive. But, the highest rank I've reached is gold 1, so I'd like to surpass that at some point.
Thank you for your reaction Jared - That’s how my wife plays. She casually starts a game on her mobile at all times, e.g. when waiting for the taters to boil and the children are around, screaming. Not a casual game, no, a ranked one, at Dia 3. Could never force myself to do that! When “feeling it” and thus gearing up for a laddering-session, I go and find a quiet spot in the house, get in a comfortable sitting position, get my notepad ready (to write down what’s played // what secret it cannot be - Play on an old laptop where deck tracker doesn’t work). Only Then can I start a ranked match that matters (to me)! During the first (and maybe second) match of a laddering session, my heart’s beating loudly.. Now, that’s what it means to me :P .
What kind of deck will you use when trying to beat your previous best Jared? One of the top decks that HS Replay suggests, or will you try to do it with something you came up with yourself?
he definitely has more games than me but if you want to see crazy. zetalot has 30k Priest wins lol
Yeah, exactly Drakkos! I remember watching some preliminaries of the World Champs a couple of years ago, when I still found it worthwhile (now even the World Championships themselves go by virtually unnoticed) to follow almost all of those tournaments where it was decided who would go to Worlds - 4 players from NA / EU / South Asia / China - .
What’s up with this HS-Masters system? Isn’t it just much more fair to give Everybody a chance of becoming world champion than only a selected group of "Masters"? Can’t wrap my head around this // Maybe I just don’t follow closely enough.
But I digress: Frodan and TJ were introducing this guy who only played warrior. Literally had never played anything else ;) . He played Dead Man's Hand // just any kind of warrior that had a chance of being good in the meta. They said he had thousands and thousands of wins with the class. I remember thinking ‘Has he played 24 hours a day, every day? 1 class at that? Such dedication.”
I only have ~ 23.175 wins in total. I do like the wins are somewhat spread out across the various heroes.

I am aware this most certainly is not the first thread on this topic, e.g. here and here and HS doesn't have big enough Goals and here and here and the very first one, of october 2013, when the game was still in beta (alpha?) . Unfortunately, no one was around to reply at that time ,
but I hope you forgive me starting (yet) another one, given the fact that the last one is from 2 years ago. Also, truth must be told, I wanted to “give you” the (proof of) completion of a long-time personal goal: 1.500 wins with the 10 heroes.

I think the deck I liked most was a fatigue deck: Glinda Crowskin - Baleful Banker - Hope you draw Banker and shuffle in some more Bankers - Play 1 or 2 Elise the Trailblazer - And repeat. Infinite value. Aided by Voidlords and Bloodreaver Gul'dan, naturally.

Cool/ intricate interactions between multiple cards in a deck are mouthwatering to me, such as (play preferably in this order/ but not necessarily in a row): Awaken the Makers > Archbishop Benedictus > Spiritsinger Umbra > Coffin Crasher > Hakkar, the Soulflayer > Hemet, Jungle Hunter.
The idea is to expand your deck-size, shuffle 1 or more Corrupted Bloods into both players decks before Hakkar can be silenced or transformed; If luck isn’t on your side and you begin to draw (too many of) the Bloods, remove ‘em by playing Hemet.

currently I am going for achievements. just got all Battleground achivements, besides the achivements attached to unavailable heroes.
soon 1000wins on warrior, which will make my 6th or 7th class, so ye, I think achivements is a good goal x)
I play runeterra now, Way more fun.
There does come a point where simply winning isn't enough . . . Winning with ridiculous win conditions usually does the job.
They should just create hero portraits for you, especially for Druid and Warlock! My favorite classes too btw! :)
I play HS also from 2013/2014, almost every day at least one game. I reached legend back in the days when Star Aligner druid was a thing and never wanted to do it again :D - So stressful!
