Definitely Hearthstone. I mainly come to this forum for hearthstone news and some educated posts but nowadays its hard to find one with all these privileged princesses who think they deserve more.
It's hard to feel much "community" while playing the game. Any sense of community comes from watching Twitch or being on here with you fuckers. I feel very alone when I actually play, due to the extremely limited communications system between opponents you face and friends you've made in-game.
Definitely the game. I would love for Hearthstone to be a true community, but there's a difference between a forum and true interaction in game. Blizzard was probably smart in that so many people are so triggered by BM and other rude behavior that they don't even want a chat function between opponents. This remains the only game I have ever played, including all other Blizzard games, where it is impossible to chat with the person you're playing against.
Absent that, there is no real community as far as I'm concerned.
Community does not exist in my opinion. For a community to exist there should be in game interaction.
I like this forum and some other forums and sites but that's about it. I see the game more as an individual game. Everyone for themselves kind of way
Jeez, people, an insane amount of people have interacted on the forums and other sites with each other every damn day for years, and you dare say the community doesn't exist? Give me a f..king break... I don't want to get mad, but Jesus Christ, please...
OK, I thin its clear what they mean here, they aren't claiming there is 'literally' no community. What they are saying is that it's so bad that it doesn't contribute positively to the game experience.
If that gets you mad then it sort of just backs up what they are saying. I've said it many times, this is the worst community I've experienced in a game. That's not to say there aren't great users and content creators, there are but as I've seen it, these are the minority.
Go back and look at new content announcements, every tavern brawl article, card reveals etc and it's just typically negative. I've never known a community that will respond so off topic. Card reveal? Comments complaining about the current META or other things just not related.
This is the only forum I've been part of that had an ongoing salt thread and I'd guess its the most posted in topic on the site.
I coukd be totally wrong, everything I'm saying is just personal experience and anecdotal but I very, very rarely find things on this forum to interact with in a positive way. I typically use this site when I'm having a break or have 5 minutes with nothing to do. I don't log on and spend an hour here so from my perspective, it's tiresome that almost everytime I load the homepage, 2 or 3 of the 4 lost recently commented threads are usually complaining.
No promotion is ever good enough, if they give anything free its always met with 'but what about.... Its not enough'. The disdain towards the development team is sad to see. This community doesn't provide feedback, it lashes out with venom and vitriol. Was there not a dev who posted a picture of his wedding day and just got absolutely bombarded with abuse, not feedback, abuse, in the comments? That isn't acceptable.
You try and pull that shit when you board a plane or in a retail outlet. Heck, personally abuse a fast food employee and there's a good chance you're not getting served, period. There's absolutely no need for the anger and abusive way that this community provides feedback. There are people who very constructively and respectfully critiqued the reward track but it was drowned out by ad-honinem attacks aimed at the dev team.
It's a shame, this site should be all about discussing cars combos, new deck ideas etc but any of that just gets drowned out.
Maybe it's because I'm less active but it's a bit of a catch 22 because I visit reddit or this site less frequently because it's so negative but then the native really stands out more when I do visit.
Hearthstone is a great game and a united, respectful community could go so much further in interacting with each other and the dev team but I've never played a game (again, maybe because I'm not a 'gamer' so I have less experience) where even the poor etiquette in game is so common. It's every other game, seemingly. And yes you can squelch but that just diverts away from the problem, it does nothing to address it.
I just get the overall feeling that the vocal minority are pretty young, inexperienced people. Limited life experience and a lack of empathy as a result. Another assumption is that there aren't many who work or at least work in a position of responsibility because the way they communicate is abysmal and childish.
I want to end on being clear that there are some great users and the only reason I continue to visit this site is for the articles etc it provides because I don't have other means of easily keeping up to date with any HS related news.
I've often thought that part of the problem with this site in general (in terms of the community interaction) is that people are given far too much freedom to flame each other and rip each other apart. In most community sites I've been in for other games / hobbies, any sort of direct written abuse like you see on here would be dealt with swiftly and with a bigger punishment. But it's incredible what some people on here can seemingly get away with at times.

the community has power that will never use for what is good. For example instead of writing salt post we could all stop playing Priest and any card with the word ''random'' written upon. But as long as the community doesn't ban what is toxic and degenerating we passivly approve any direction...... the ''battle'' that seems to have won the community recently in the reward track case just means that ''we'' fight'' for the tree while the forest is Anduin's and jaina's toilet

You can't ban everyone.
I realise that's a joke - but in seriousness, I don't think banning people straight off the bat is necessary. Once people start to realise what is / isn't acceptable, "most" will adhere to the rules and treat people a little more civilly. And hopefully improve the community here in the process. Those who choose to continue being toxic will get warned and then eventually banned and I don't think the community will lose out in that event. :-)
I was looking back in my own post history to make sure what I'm about to say is accurate, and what I found is that in the first six months to a year on the forum, I actually . . . you know . . . was happy. I would occasionally do things like talk about a deck I liked, maybe dabble in set reviews. In return, I got creative analogies about my sexual preferences, general doubts about intellect, and the ever-present "paid Blizzard shill" trope, but not in such polite language.
Now, I can't get out of bed (forum-wise) for anything less than racism from Zeddy or blatant lies about match rigging. Not that I get any better responses, but for some reason I still think someone might listen to the disproof of bullshit. Probably a delusion, I know.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
Yeah drunks like to hang arround with each other too. Playing this game is not something you want to disclose openly but amungst other addicts you get a scense of normality.
PS This is not normal, its a vice to fix your gambling itch.
Anyway its a nice scentiment ... merry christmas to all and to all a good night
Not sure if that was directed at me, but if it was, there's no gambling involved. I always get the full set, so there's no question of the outcome.
And when I have an itch to gamble . . . I go to a casino.

Well I once got a mod warning for saying retard, so I guess they try to reduce toxicity.
I got the same warning, and it was correctly used without an insult involved.

Not sure why that would ever be the case. I'm always happy to chat about Hearthstone with people at work, or with friends (assuming the conversation is relevant). It's certainly not like Drinking or Gambling in the form of something you'd be ashamed of. If you seriously find yourself ashamed to be playing a computer game, there's probably bigger issues to deal with. Unless it's like a porno game or something, of course. Subject materials is obviously key here...
You forgot the third option. I wouldnt cry a tear if BOTH would vanish today. Right now its just an addiction. Good job bli$$ PSY team. Back then i craved Solitaire, today i crave this clickibunti crap. bli$$ard would do us all a favour if it just would stomp this game into a waste bin. And now, dear fanbois, DOWNVOTE me!

So stop playing dude, find something else to be addicted to. Why do you stay if it makes you miserable? It's a video game, if it's not worth your time or money there's plenty of other games to try.
Hearthstone is decent game. Many flaws and its been downhill for a long time, but its ok.
Zero f*cks given of the community.
Yup, game wins.
Hearthstone, though more or less because I've already invested too much time/money to just quit.
I do talk to a handful of people who I've met through the game but that's about it.
Definitely Hearthstone. I mainly come to this forum for hearthstone news and some educated posts but nowadays its hard to find one with all these privileged princesses who think they deserve more.
comunity? a bunch of whiners and crybabies.
i can get on with my life with hearthstone

I’m a bit of a lone wolf so I’m picking Hearthstone.
I will say that I’ve been a member of this forum for over five years and I experience a sense of community when seeing familiar names etc.
