How do you beat this deck? I have tried Pure Paladin, Highlander Hunter and Miracle Rogue and just get stomped. Any insight or help in this match up would be appreciated. Am I suppose to play Priest in order to enjoy HS again?
Never have more than 2-3 minions on your side of the board when you're getting in combo range. I know it's a bleak option, but its been working for me in high diamond atm.
I'd you've played the deck yourself you've surely experienced that your big win cons are having a monster fuckload of stall armor and the combo. If they shut down either you're hurting bad.
Warrior has not been a class I've ever been attracted to but I've been playing ETC Warrior the last few days and I have to say the deck feels really effing good. Even in my noob hands I've won a decent amount of games against all the main culprits: DH, Pally, Rogue, Druid. When I lose it's usually because I made some dumbass misplay that cost me the game. Note to self: Pen Flinger into Bladestorm will KILL Pen Flinger!
According to Vicious Syndicate CW's worst matchups are Clown Druid, Secret Mage, Highlander Hunter, Deathrattle Hunter (yeah, me neither), and Pure Pally. The caveat here is that ETC Warrior's stats are lumped into general CW stats which hasn't been doing well at all so I don't think this info is very accurate. Pure Pally is a tough matchup but I def have a positive winrate against them with ETC.
Res Priest is also a bad matchup for CW but I won the games I played vs Priest so the CW stats are probably skewing the data.
I don't think you're forced to play Priest at all. Hunter is always a good choice vs Warrior, has been forever.
ETC Warrior has 2 main win cons: ETC combo and RATTLEGORE. If you can silence / poly Rattlegore then that removes the only late game threat they have.
Milling their combo pieces with Tickatus may be an idea?
Rez priest or big priest have trouble against ETC OTK because it’s easy to control the matchup with both decks until the ETC combo kills you. Control handlock on the other hand is awesome. You can stay alive with the huge lifesteal potential then hit them with a couple of tickatus and watch them auto concede. ETC warrior is a five card OTK, it would be a shame if something happened to their combo pieces...
Shaman/Mage - Multiple ways to deal with rattlegore, which is what you need if you are going to slow-ball them. You have to be careful about playing stats on to the board. Think of it like a reverse of the old druid combo, 14hp was the threshold then, well 8 stats total on the board your side is OTK territory. The other alternative is hyper aggression...the deck needs to draw a lot of combo pieces.
Its a pretty tough deck to beat but the extra dynamic to the gameplay makes it an enjoyable deck to play against for me.

- You can tech a Plate breaker.
- Heavy mid-range decks are quiet good (above 50%) vs Warrior: HL Hunter, Clown Druid, Pure Paladin.
- Add weapon removal against the shield. - If you really want to counter them play a Death-Rattle Hunter deck. Warrior can't deal with big Rattle minions.
Speaking as an ETC Warrior player, you can aggro it down relatively easily if you know how to play around their various removal (i.e. don't give them a good Brawl or Bladestorm. With a control deck you can fatigue them by just not playing minions after they have the combo pieces in hand. Or as a Warrior or Druid you can armour out of range of the combo.
In my experience? No, you dont beat them. Its a completely uninteractive deck that forces you to play mindless aggro decks just to have a chance. If you like to play control, well good luck. They have near infinite removal, insane card draw, and insane armor. Its another combo deck that punishes you for even playing a board to try and pressure them. And no, just sitting there like an idiot and playing no minions doesn't work either since they can pressure you as well. All I can say is good luck. Or just concede

It's tough, but most fast early aggro decks will stomp on it (barring him God-drawing). If you want a control option, any mill/discard Warlock deck wrecks it. Any life-steal minions wreck it (If you want Paladin options).
When they charge minions into lifesteal, it completely counters the combo.
If you play priest, you can easily deal with their rattlegore with either steal or plague or any other form of releveant removal. as for their combo, Illucia takes care of that. best time to Illucia is around when they have 15-10 cards left in their deck, good chance they have drawn some of their combo pieces by then. and as for the rest, just wait them out they are sitting ducks with plenty of armor and fatigue will catch up with them.

Missing lethal since June 2015.
But if you don't pressure them, then they just play Rattlegore

Play Wild
Tickatus isn't fun or interactive
he can't kill you if you have lifesteal minions on your side of the field, you take damage, then heal

I do play wild :)
I actually considered teching in a plate breaker.. Might actually do it considering the deck is becoming real popular.
