Dont forget that he count all the gold you get from reward track. That means, if you were like me, reach lv 31 now and estimated to get 10k gold at the end.. doesn't mean I will have 10k spare at that expansion.
Bacause I already used about 1500gold from level 1-30, then I will only left with 8500gold in the end of the reward cycle.
*Keep this in mind just in case you end up with gold lower than the estimated in the future..
Also, I should say this. Even though the estimated progression and gold seems promising, the lack of another sources of gold besides reward track is annoying. They should add other source to get gold, especially because some of the quests actually need gold, like the win 4 arena match quest (assuming you used your re-roll already).
It doesn't matter, how much gold you spend between the expansions, you'll earn roughly 10k gold. That's the point.
You can reroll a Quest every day, nobody is forced to play a mode he doesn't want, like or can't afford.
Well, it matters for me because I rarely count how much total gold I got in 17 weeks. I only count and remember how much gold I have right before the expansion. Also, alot of people are like me too. So when seeing this table, the first thing that come in mind is how much gold I will have in the start of next expansion. And the number could misleading me a little if I forgot that in the middle of expansion we used the gold to buy more pack or arena (or heroic duel now)
It doesn't matter. They lied to us saying "everyone would be getting more gold". End of story.
#StopTheGreed
If the calculations were wrong I imagine it's because they considered aspects but not others. Everyone is so negative, paranoid and aggressive these days that they immediately jump to THEY LIED TO US.
Maybe they screwed up. It would be a stupid thing to deliberately LIE about because it's a system that, once released, can be calculated and compared to the old one. So if it was significantly worse, lying wouldn't make an ounce of difference. So I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and not immediately conclude that there is some evil conspiracy to deliberately screw their players over.
I don't care enough to spend hours of my life pouring over spreadsheets to see if I'll have an extra thousand in game gold in a card game across a 4 month period. Like, in the grand scheme of things it's beyond insignificant to me but if it is wrong, then I'd at least give them the opportunity to change it up.
There's a difference between making an error and flat out lying. Anytime you've told someone something that was incorrect, you aren't immediately a liar, you could have just fucked up and you, like everybody else should at least get some benefit to put that right.
Do you have a job etc? I'm not being demeaning but you and others like you just come across as having really limited life experience. You're all just so venomous and angry towards some game developers and maybe need a bit of perspective to realise that no one is mugging old ladies here, so you can react slightly calmer than you all are doing. It's just a game.
It doesn't matter. They lied to us saying "everyone would be getting more gold". End of story.
#StopTheGreed
I'm about 99% sure that they did NOT say everyone would be getting more gold. I believe (and please provide evidence to the contrary) that they said most players will earn more gold. Blizzard would almost certainly have run an analysis of how many players will come out ahead and how many will lose gold. The fact that you happen to fall in the unfortunate category is, well, unfortunate for you, but most of the rest of us will benefit from the change. End of story.
Still incorrect. Most players aren't earning more gold.
Says who? You. And you appear to be someone who earned 100 gold/ day (plus the gold earned from the daily quest). I'm quite sure that most players DON'T do that. As for the min/max players you referenced, I don't know that anyone has done actual analysis of how much they earned under the old system, so it's impossible to know whether they'll win or lose under the new system.
I WILL be earning substantially more, playing the same amount as I always have. What Blizzard said was that most people will earn more gold. I suspect (again, based purely on their own self-interest) that will prove true.
Do a poll when you don't know, don't mumbo-jumbo stuff.
Mumbo-jumbo? It's called mathematics and reason. The chart I posted is entirely based on math. Similarly, my prediction on where people will end up is purely based on Blizzard's own self-interest.
Polls are meaningless here: most players don't know how much they'll ultimately earn (which is a failure on Blizzard's part, I would add). So all you'll get is perception, not reality. And, by the way, Hearthpwn members/ posters are NOT representative of the overall player population, which means polls will be highly inaccurate.
Speaking personally, I'm at level 31 right now, so I should expect to earn at least 10K gold before the next expansion.
You're gonna end up disappointed.
Based on what evidence? This is an algorithm created by a group that has been quite critical of the rewards track and of Blizzard as a whole. Or are you just intent on being angry because you can't play a brain-dead face deck and get your cheap 100 gold every night?
So you say that we (people who actually play more than daily quests) should be happy that we get less free stuff. That's like thanking the goverment for increasing taxes.
Not at all. I also play more than my daily quests. And I'll make (substantially) more gold than before. The simple fact is that under the old system, fast, aggro decks had an unfair advantage over slower decks when it came to gold earnings. A win is a win, whether it takes 3 minutes or 10. But if I prefer to play control decks, why should I have to play 3 times as long as you to get the same gold reward?
It was a good way to tackle ropers and I'm curious if they do something about it because it ruins the game.
Do a poll when you don't know, don't mumbo-jumbo stuff.

The math so far, done by HS mathematics and the nice spreadsheets + quick approximations based on xp/hour and xp/level requirenments says that you'll earn ABOUT 15g/hour just from playing. This is significantly less than what aggro gold farmers used to, which was more like 30. Thou it IS more than what arena and slow control players used to get and for many players it will be roughly the same. If you only went for dailies, you'll earn less too, unless you only play very little per season. Example! After level 50 you'll need 4500 to level up. You get on average 400/h making it 11,25 hours for 150g. Not all levels are the same of course, but 10-11h for 150g is rather normal in the new system
This actually fits w/ my projections (on XP per week). I've been logging about 22k xp/wk *16wk/expansion = 352k xp in total. That would put me at level 85. Currently I am at level 31 and they project me to be at level 84. Close enough for me.
I think the XP system is actually boosting the amount of gold I will obtain by ~3000+. I understand some of the hate for this system, but overall... until we have a full "season" and can see where we end up, it is all speculation.
Imagine if they release a double XP event for 1-2wk ... This can drastically boost XP gain levels! I won't complain until we see the final results.
I may be wrong but most of the complaints so far seem to come from people who didn't log in for more like 30-60 min/week, because of various reasons. So, mainly those who tried to squeeze as much gold as possible with minimal effort by clearing their dailies, no more, no less. Some of them also admitted they'd never spend a dime on this game. I'm sorry, but if you refuse to spend money or time which could be utilized e.g. for balancing the game then you don't belong to the target audience. In the end, this isn't a gold farming simulator and if you don't have fun playing otherwise you'd better quit your "part-time job".
The new system aims to reward any playstyle, not just logging face hunter to grind your daily 100 gold from wins. I get that cheap aggro decks are the main choice for newbies if they want to climb the ladder and build up their collection. But please, let's not pretend that the min/maxers are anything but a minority in this community.
What they should fix though is people abusing the new system by roping or going AFK in e.g. BGs. Maybe it should count in-game actions or turns instead of pure game time.
Most players who value their real time are quest min/maxers. Not everyone is a nerd playing HS all day long.
I suggested years ago we need a way to pause quests so we min/max even more efficiently.
Now, besides the already existing groups of players we have the AFKers - those that play Toiletstone. The current system encourages toileting and aims to kill those F2P who min/max quests, because they actually have a real life outside the toilet.
Defending the current system makes you an idiot in my eyes.

Why should the new system favor min/maxers? You still have not explained why that should be the case. Whether they "have a real life" or not (I guess that was your feeble attempt to make yourself feel superior) is completely irrelevant to the discussion. But again that's just you trying to paint anyone who disagrees with you as a nerd. Unless min/maxers represent a majority (or very large minority) of the players, there's no reason Blizzard should have to tailor the game economy to favor them over some other group. So unless you can prove to me that min/maxers represent the largest category of players, I see no reason to care whether they win or lose under the new system.
What you fail to understand is that anytime you change the economy (in a game or in real life), there are winners and losers. The rules of the economy reward some behaviors and punish others. It sounds like you're in the losing side. Again, sorry for you, but if the new system provides better rewards to more players, then so be it. You can either: a) change your gaming behavior so that it's rewarded; b) play the way you always have and accept that you'll earn less gold; or c) quit HS.
Now, I do agree with you that the bot problem is real, and I think it's getting steadily worse. As others have suggested, changing the XP award to be turn-based rather than time-based seems to be a no-brainer, as does a more vigorous effort to identify and ban players using bots.
no reason to care whether they win or lose under the new system
If the system can be tweaked so there aren't losing groups compared to before and this is not done, it only favors their short term goals. In the long term HS loses when some groups of players are treated in such way, but it seems they don't care since they plan to put HS in maintenance mode.
And that won't be the last time the economy rules change, so have fun with a dying game.

Again, you're missing the point. Any change to the economy that helps min/maxers will hurt other players. Why should they suffer just so you can play the way you want?
And I'm quite confident that the business people at Blizzard understand their long-term picture far better than you. You can spew your "if you treat us badly, the game will die" garbage as long as you want: Blizzard has far more data about the play habits of its real population than you or I do. And it's highly unlikely that this change is going to kill the game. I've been hearing this "HS is dying" crap for literally years. People were wrong about it back then, and you're wrong about it now. But, if you're so convinced the game is dying, do yourself a favor and quit.
Any change to the economy that helps min/maxers will hurt other players.
Yes, the moment they introduce quest pausing and more variance in quest XP in order min/maxers to gain as before, all other besides them would start gaining less and quit. That's a great logic. You need the Nobel prize in Economic Sciences for it.
What they should fix though is people abusing the new system by roping or going AFK in e.g. BGs. Maybe it should count in-game actions or turns instead of pure game time.
The thing is though people say this is a problem, but I have played quite a lot of Hearthstone since the reward track dropped (I am level 30 to give you some idea) and I am yet to encounter a single roper. So I think this 'problem' is being hugely overstated.

Hearthstone, dying game since 2016
Im enjoying the game a lot.
And the new systems looks great. We should await until the end of the expansion in order to judge it.
