No Popeye, I just meant I'm out of our convo. The walls of text are definitely still coming.
I miss the IRC days, Arcengal, but what are you gonna do?

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.

Well I hope your long, convoluted, drawn out posts give you the ego boost youre looking for. Every time I see one of your posts I’ll be sure to dissect your point and make a new post making the same exact point, but in the amount of words necessary so the message i’m actually giving doesn’t get lost in all the superficial, NY Times wannabe BS. Bro you should make a Yelp. You would be great at it

And you making the argument that just because it’s long means the people that complain “cant understand it” is a complete fallacy and false assumption. I mean, all this fancy vocab for no other reason than just to have it is telling me youre compensating for something. I just dint know what.
i get the vibe that you need to feel like the smartest person in the room most of the time.

Actually, no, you know what Popeye? I'm going to pay you the respect you won't pay me and assume that what you're saying isn't a troll and actually what you feel about me.
Yes, I agree, I could have made the point that there are many lies and misrepresentations on that video in many fewer words. I admit that. The problem is, I've been down this road before in this forum. I know what's coming if that's all I say. "You just don't get it", "You're just a shill", "You didn't bother to watch the video", and on and on and on. And then, if I want to continue the conversation, I have to post details about the video and address specific claims, and before you know it, all the posts end up being 3x longer than my original.
The object of an overly detailed first post is to try to forestall some of that stuff. Maybe it's just a pipe dream, but I actually hope that if I put enough detail into an argument, SOMEONE might actually read it and listen to it rather than write me off. I could care less whether that makes me the smartest person in the room, and if anything, I want my vocabulary to be understandable, particularly to the folks who aren't 1st language English speakers who read this forum. So if I am overly "fancy", it's only hurting my goal.
The fact that you refuse to give me any feedback means I'm not going to get any better, assuming you are at least in part correct in your critique. So, I continue to ask for feedback. That's all I can do.

Also, you guys are the ones who use words like "impressive" as an insult. I'm just writing. I just assume the readers have a high school education, in which case they shouldn't have any trouble with the vocabulary.
As a science guy I can tell that there are also people who freak out when graphs are used... Some people just can't take formal language. I guess it makes them feel uneducated.
You did well friend. Haters gonna hate :)
another blizzard spy comes to the rescue
WHAT?! XD Now this is just hilarious. First you guys start bitching over long texts and now when people point it out, they are "spies" from a company that makes a game, that a guy makes a video about, that somebody posts here, that then gets critique, that then meets mentioned bitchy comments (I think that was the chronology).
But uhm ok then.... I can tell you that I'm a very underpaid spy who didn't even mention anything about agreeing with anybody, aside from the fact that long texts aren't patronizing unless you are an illiterate person with low self-esteem.
Now I would like Blizzard to give me at least 50€ and 120 free packs for my invaluable espionage. How would Blizzard ever make it without me scouting the top posts of a public online forum, that they otherwise could just close in a heartbeat. Man you guys almost got us XD
Just talking? So I take it this is how you talk in real life? My God people must hate talking to you, standing around for 10 minutes while you try and drive home your point while also trying to make it sound formal and professional and articulate. I dont find any of your words “overly fancy” btw as I’ve been able to understand them clearly as my reading level is above that of a 6th grader. Maybe I should be more clear and just say that about 90% of the words you use/d are just completely unnecessary for the delivery of your message. In fact, i’m trying to do you a favor, because your message would be a whole lot more clear to the lesser literate masses by just getting to the GD point. 10 year olds play this game for F sake, what about them?
The intent of the thread is to suggest that the video in the OP is interesting. I know that because I read the title.
I think it's interesting, as a matter of fact I wrote a whole critique. Don't think that's diverting from the purpose of the thread.

How tf do people freak out over graphs being used? They’re called visual aids for a reason. Do graphs normally make people around you feel uneducated? That doesn’t seem to make any sense
Some people will actually try to reject even good arguments. The graph is definitely an extreme, but some folks only listen to their gut :)

You sound like such a smug piece of trash lmao. Ever watch the South Park where they enjoy smelling their own farts?
Wow, dude. You don't want any conversation here. I tried to extricate (is that too fancy for you?) myself from this earlier. Then I tried to show you respect. Now I'm just done. You be sure to dissect those points sometime; it'll be a first.

Nah, I work pro bono where dishonest videos are concerned.
A a pro bono defender of corporations, you are quite the individual.
Another question for you, If a corporation owns a patent on a technology that has been demonstrated to increase revenue but does not use it, do the shareholders have a legitimate grievance?
Popeye, I don't know if you read my second post to you before your last one, but I freely admit I don't care to tailor my message for 10 year olds.
Also, just as on these forums, anyone who hates talking to me IRL is free to not.
amazing how a narcissist can make everything about themselves
All of his criticisms are personal attacks. I didn't say a word about me until you guys started in on this crap.

What words do you find overly fancy? What points have you dissected or restated more succinctly? Where is any follow thru to any of this?
EDIT: I never desire to be the smartest person in the room. Otherwise, there's nothing to learn.
