"NO time ever did I spend more than $220 before I had a full set" - is this supposed to be a good thing? You spend approx. $880 a year for this game? Its because of people like you they continously push out a subpar game, knowing full well they can continue to do so as stupid people continue to bite the hook.
For Blizzard bootlickers and those who still defend Hearthstone at its current state, take a look at this please:
Honestly, I'm not surprised at all...
First of all, there's 3 full sets in a year, not 4. Secondly, I never suggested that was an appropriate price point. Never defended it with a single word. But a game can be too expensive and you can make that point without lying about it and blowing the numbers way out of proportion.
@Nefiret
There's a whole nother thread about that video where I have gone into great detail about how that creator is also a bald-faced liar. That doesn't mean Blizzard is in the right, nor am I defending them. Two things can be true at the same time. But his "evidence" and "proof" are complete misleading garbage. Read the thread "an interesting video" if you'd like to see why.
EDIT: Here's the link to the thread that goes in depth as to why the "rigged" video is worthless. I wouldn't recommend going down the rabbit hole of the arguments about "fancy" language. I should never have fed the trolls. Also, if you are afraid of "walls of text" that take more than 10 seconds to read, don't bother.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
By the way, I know there have been several people who have said various versions of "respect to Zeddy for siding with the players".
As I've said, I don't really disagree with the general point. If Blizzard promises something and doesn't deliver, that absolutely should be called out. I just have issues with people ignoring really disgusting behavior because "he's on my side". Lots of people are on your side, and sure, that can be a part of your opinion on them. Just don't bury your head in the sand as to the rest. Now, others have said they don't care if someone is a racist, and that's perfectly fine, too. I'd rather folks come right out and say it if that's what they feel.
As to the "Hearthstone too expensive" video, again, the general point might be true. But, if you find yourself having to lie about evidence for that point, maybe it's not quite as solid an argument as you think. Then again, MAYBE IT IS, and this person is just terrible at making the point. But either way, he is lying about the cost of the game, and once again, if that's cool with you, just say it's cool with you. Please don't try to suggest he's actually being truthful, and please don't act as if pointing out dishonesty is the same thing as defending a corporation.
It's the same thing with the video Nef linked:
I would never suggest I know that Blizzard doesn't rig matches. It would take a huge amount of data across long amounts of time to prove such a thing. But I am absolutely certain that the video linked above doesn't come close to proving it, and worse, actively misleads the audience on many occasions. I don't have it in me to rehash the entire 14 minute video again, if you want that, go read the other thread. But there's one point in the video that would be so easy to prove, the fact that no one has done it suggests a lot about the validity of the claim.
He claims that Blizzard pairs people with opponents who use legendary cards the other player doesn't own. All it would take is 200ish games in the same general area of the ladder (D10-D6 for example) to prove that point. But since no one has done the work, there isn't proof of anything. Also, there is a claim that Blizzard rigs draws so that legendaries and epics show up at just the right time to positively impact the game (presumably so that opponents would want to craft those cards). That would be almost trivial to prove. But once again . . . no one does.
For those who care, I just got a life-changing job today. So that's fun.

This is hard. Zeddy had kinda build his own channel around beign toxic about HS (Solem does this too for quite some time now tbh). I do not watch him, because i do not like salty people, but on the other hand I believe it is important to adress some issues about the game. We need people who are not afraid to say their opinion, because if everyone was afraid to talk about issues with the game, activision could easily get away with scamms like the new battlepass and monetisation system.
All rounded up, ignoring issues of the game is not the right approach, so we need people like Zeddy to speak up. But we should not be salty about everything, because devs cant possibly do good job when they are under such pressure from community.
P.S. - It is hard to not be salty about recent changes in HS.
I think that's a perfectly reasonable approach to the whole thing. I guess I just want to emphasize that we can pick better opinion leaders.
Because, imagine for a sec, if someone who really is in Activision's PR team starts wasting time by gaslighting on these videos. I've seen it a lot of times in Starcraft's community, where someone who has a following will make some outlandish claim about game balance (analogous to Zeddy's ridiculous numbers on cost), and the balance team will respond by pointing out the outlandishness of the claim.
The only trouble is, there actually was a huge balance problem, and because the team felt it was enough to answer the easily-disprovable claim and stop there, the actual issue never got addressed. Likewise, the more people go off the deep end about legitimate problems in Hearthstone, the easier it is for Team 5 to only respond to the BS, and never address the more reasonable stuff.

Imo, Brian Kibler could be that person. He stood up when there's a blitzchung situation (talks about human rights and larger-than-game issue), he also always speak up about the meta balancing in the era of omnislash (remember when baku and genn is in meta, finally rotated early because Kibler make an omnislash content to says that unhealthy to the meta almost every 2 months).

Kibler will be the first to tell you that he wants a relationship with the company he plays for; so he's never going to be a true firebrand about such things. I think he walks a reasonable line between speaking his mind and not getting thrown out of the in-crowd. Some people are always calling him a sellout or whatnot, but because Kibler takes the middle ground, there have been times when he is able to do the "voice of reason" thing and be a lot more influential than someone like Zeddy could be, but use that power to help the general community. I know he has been instrumental in a lot of the balance changes we've seen, which some may argue don't go far enough, but have generally been positive.
Btw, I never mentioned something that is more important than this entire thread which is a brief but sincere thought: Shamanistic, hope your wife's brother's wedding is coming together. Hey long time StarCraft player here, so just curious what specific balance and gaslighting issue you are referring to. Brood Lord/Infester? The Void Ray nerf/buff saga? Reapers? General Zerg dominance in the pro scene for the last few years?
On the topic at hand, I agree with you on most points. Diversity feels shallow when it's only skin deep. What we actually want is diversity of thought. I also have a natural distrust of anyone who claims that they are the "voice of the people" or "the savior of the meek", or any similar political grandstanding. Which is the vibe I've gotten from Zeddy's videos. If someone claims that they have all the answers and speak on behalf of others, they are often just smelling their own farts.
So, I was trying to remember when someone in the community managed to start throwing hyperbolic stuff around and it caught on to the point where Blizzard just sort of pooh-pooh'ed the hysterics rather than fixed things. I remember two big times when that happened. The first was back in late Wings of Liberty where the zerg meta had departed from ling-bane-muta and gone fully to ling-infestor (often skipping bane altogether) into ultralisk with full upgrades, into corrupter if necessary. Someone like QXC I think, made this post on Team Liquid that basically said there was no hope for anyone playing Terran or Protoss, and it got hundreds of replies and turned into this whole thing. Then, the next major tournament happens, and . . . shit, I forget the Korean guy who pioneered that sentry-immortal-prism 8gate all-in that showed up out of nowhere . . . anyway, some Korean Protoss won it, and at the event, some Blizzard hack specifically referenced the post and said something like "guess that's settled" and there was nothing done till Heart of the Swarm.
The second time was even more embarassing in terms of who was "leading" the community. Avilo gets voted onto the American team for that tournament that was fan-selected (forget which organization ran it), and he actually convinces the tourney staff to call a draw on a super-late-game TvZ where he is hiding in the corner of the map and only taking a couple of damage from corruptors every minute or so, but the zerg still has resources and is slowly but surely winning what was going to be a painfully long, but clearly winnable game. That game was illustrating the issue with mass Ravens and ultra late-game TvX. Technically, that did get addressed, but I believe it would have been dealt with sooner and more effectively if Avilo hadn't been throwing gas on the fire.

Oh i had completely forgotten about Solem. The last video YouTube suggested i watch of him was his rant about the new progression system, where he didn't even know the basics of what's going on. The man didn't even remember how many sets there are in a year, or what the rewards of the new system are, yet he had the audacity to voice an "opinion".
Not only is he attempting to cash in on the toxicity of the community, he's not even putting any effort in it.
As for Zeddy, no, we don't need people like that to voice concerns. We do not need liers to spearhead the discussion, because id the discussion is built on lies then it can easily be dismantled by the first developer that sees fit to waste his time replying to such a POS.

I don't remember that specific PvZ, but going by the era and style I'd guess MC or Parting. Both were known for cheese and timing attacks (and Parting still is).
As far as Avilo goes, I remember getting a kick out of all his drama. He talked some big shit, but was actually alright at the game. I remember for a while he held the record for the most nukes launched in a single WCS game.
In general I don't fault Blizzard too much for balance over the years, outside of Brood Lord/Infester which lasted way too long imo. It's a delicate tight rope to walk. If you balance too often then you might deprive the community of the chance to find an innovative solution, but take too long and you might lose players and viewers (especially considering that SC2 is more of a spectator e-sport then HS is). I think SC2 is in a better spot now then ever though, outside of there being no more new content. I wouldn't mind some light nerfs to Zerg though. Protoss is getting dicked on at the pro level, out side of a few exceptions like Zest, Parting and Neeb. Astrea has been up and coming though so maybe he can bust a move. I play Terran btw.
I totally agree with what you are saying. Issue is that the people dont understand that being toxic about everything isnt going to help the game. Yes, we need to stand against the recent changes of the game (the bad ones), but we still need to be fair. Complaining about everything the game does isnt the right way to stand out. Players right now try to cash in on the hate against HS, and even though i really dislike what HS is doing for a few last months, i still think they delivered us some pretty good changes in recent years (even though they still could give us more). Toxicity jsut isnt a key to change, it is just gonna make us as a players feel worse.
Also, anybody toxic shouldnt have a huge fanbase. I feel like HS was the most not toxic game i have ever played. But for last year, I observe that toxicity level is rising among players. Yesterday a guy playing aggro hunter called me r*tard for playing combo DH. AGGRO HUNTER called me, playing a COMBO deck (combo decks are hardest to pilot imo) r*tard. I tried to convince him the deck is actually pretty hard to play and funny as well and we even had a nice chat and are friends now. But why does he have to call me that? Because he saw somebody famous act toxic, so he feels like its okay and acts toxic even though he is actually a nice guy. I think the purpose if video games is for us to have fun, so lets have fun all together and stop abusing other players who just want to have fun.
@Bengalaas
You missunderstood me. My point was more that we need people who are not afraid to stand out against the game in the community, than "We need Zeddy". If we proceed to ignore the problems, they wont just dissapear. But during our protest, we shouldnt incline to being toxic about everything and we shouldnt abuse the devs.
Yeah, Koko, I got similar treatment on my first game trying to play the Ilgynoth OTK Demon Hunter combo. Dog was having a very hard time getting the combo right, and yet I'm apparently a scrub for not pulling it off the first time I ever played it; according to my Libram Paladin opponent. That stuff is almost comical, though. Can't really get up at arms about it. I appreciate the words, though.
@RevenantSC
MC sounds right. It was around that time where Stephano had shown that fast max on roach into +1/Roach Speed/endless attack OR hard to hold timing into tech and good start towards the BL/Infestor late game. It was very difficult to macro against that, so Protoss all turned towards the 3 Immortal all-in. Terran could still go to Ghosts and try to slug it out late game, if only because they had the tanks to hold the roach attack.
@Shipmen
You and complete sentences have some relationship issues, so I don't really know what you're trying to say. IF you are saying that my walls of text should be something that causes people to leave the game, you flatter me. I could think of several people I'd love to cause to leave the game. But judging by other threads about the xp system and all, where everyone talks about "zomg, I can't just log on for quests and then never play the game and still get the same gold," it seems as if a lot of folks on these forums don't really play the game anyway.

This is exactly the problem: you can't be bothered to read his opinions, but you spew forth your own and expect people to take you seriously. You delight in being ignorant, and you criticize other people for actually expressing themselves clearly and precisely.
That's the funniest part about all this, I summarize and critique two videos that are nearly half an hour between the two of them into MAYBE 60 seconds of reading, two minutes if you're slow, and apparently that's not enough synthesis.
If you can't be bothered, that's fine, but everything I wrote is there for a reason. I've continually asked for any example of something that was repetitive or overly verbose, and of course the response is, "I can't be bothered to actually READ your stuff! I just know it must be flawed because it's longer than what can fit in a meme."
Cool story?
EDIT: I suppose I did use the word "contrapositive", which is something your average laymen doesn't run across. I think that was the only word not in completely normal use. And it's explained in the next sentence, so that shouldn't have been an issue. I realize people have short attention spans and don't want to read for ONE WHOLE MINUTE, but if that's the problem you have with my post, why are you continually coming back and posting here?

Technically, that did get addressed, but I believe it would have been dealt with sooner and more effectively if Avilo hadn't been throwing gas on the fire.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
@Shadowrisen,
I will wait for your blind crusade of nothing made by wall of texts that nobody will read.

It should be all.
@Shadowrisen
@Bengalaas
@RevenantSC
@Shipmen

Yours are the assumptions and yours are the conclusions. I don't know your opinions because I don't read walls of text about a card game. Walls of text are cool related to important topics. Synthesis is also a gift.
