I've really enjoyed the game and have bought 3-4 pre-orders including the most recent. I'm regretting it already. To own most of the cards I'm going to have to spend the equivalent of about 6 AAA games a year.
I'm playing the game now at times to grind to the next pack. I can'y justifying giving anymore to Blizzard without a radical shift in their position.
It's time for me to vote with my wallet. I'll keep playing, but I suspect the game will rapidly loose it's shine as I can no longer experiment with lots of different and fun decks. But the greed and contempt shown by Blizzard has to be challenged. I hope lots of people will join me in saying no to funding a company that no longer has the best wishes of it's gamers and the longevity of the game at heart and is instead obviously guided by the desire to squeeze the teat as quick possible until the cow's dry.
I hope I'm not the only one who feels like this?
6 Cyberpunks or an incomplete set of Hearthstone cards?
I hate to say it, but i have to agree. This is the first expansion i did not invest any penny (normally i buy the 80$ bundle), but the last expansion i totally lost the will to play.
I don't know why, but the heroic brawl (without a free run for everyone), was the last straw for me. It's not that i care about the brawl/ gold itself(i have plenty), it was more the signal Blizzard (/Activision) gave. I also REALLY dislike the new (hidden) MMR based ranking system. Already at bronze 10 getting only AAA net decks to play against is not that fun for me.
NB: A good tip i actually got from this forum- start playing Wild if you have a lot of old cards. New cards are less relevant in Wild(only craft the broken ones), and because i only played standard, my MMR is still really shitty there so i can play around a little bit with home made decks for now.

I think their right. I almost exclusively play wild now. There's some stuff to still like about the game, but I think the design is now led by the finance guys. There's no reason why they couldn't do the new reward tracker (with lower rewards) along-side the 10g=3wins.
As an individual I have to put my foot down, I just hope enough people do the same.
They should be looking to sell more packs cheaper to more players, not looking to milk dry the ones who don't mind.
remember when blizzard had, plated on the main statue on the outside of the building, the golden plated tag whose on it the message "Every voice matters" was engraved on it? apparently, not every voice matters to blizzard
It's really the intentional confuscation and misdirection tactics that are turning me away. Without a clear, open and honest approach I don't trust Blizzard anymore and I don't give my money to people or companies I don't trust.
They are telling you that you are too stupid to deserve being treated with dignity and respect. It's up to you to decide whether that is true.

the heroic brawl was never free, but no one complained back then. one entry is worth 1k gold or 10$, why should they give you one for free?
Well clearly the marketing team has no clue how the original integrity of Blizzard worked, but well I guess I had to grow up and start getting other hobbies anyway.
Compared to World of Warcraft, where you pay 60EUR every two years and 15EUR monthly for server access, Hearthstone is the pinnacle of greed.
This game has way fewer employees working on it, less demand for servers, they clearly don't hire any play testers, and the game has access to the mobile market. Where is the money going when people buy packs?
In WoW you can join whenever you want, there is no huge downside to being "behind" other players. If you want to play a new class, you invest some time to get that character up to speed. All non-competitive gameplay in WoW is free of additional cost. You can even spend time farming in game currency to buy next month's subscription fee.
In Hearthstone, joining the game at any point leaves you 4 expansions behind in Standard. If you don't want to spend so much money, you can only play budget aggro decks. If you want to play control or combo, you have to buy a lot of packs. This is the equivalent in WoW of having to pay another 60EUR to be able to play the other classes. Want to goof off with off-meta decks? Then you have to buy even more packs to get the "bad" legendaries, unless you're lucky enough to get those bad legendaries right away...
Hearthstone's monetization is both greedy and manipulative. It's gambling for children

bronze 10??? lol you wastemanz I'm at diamond 9.
Holy fuck you’re a retard. He made good comments. Go back to bed little boy.
- They either continue as is or even make it more expensive(!!) Some whales will keep on paying forever, however the majority of players who currently buy bundles will stop playing and the player base will shrink, resulting in pretty much the death of the game
- they lower the prices significantly, aim for higher volume of transactions rather than few transactions for loads of $$. This way they keep the existing user base, attract more players and stop the “anti blizzard” movement
I think everyone is missing the point. I agree the reward are lackluster but for me the only thing that ruined the game is the introduction of demon hunter
It never ceases to amaze me. I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. My only complaint about the new progressive system is the single pack rewards instead of gold once you get into the teen or event above level twenty in some spots...to me gold is always more valuable than 40 dust.
Other than that though I dig the new system. I still feel so bad for poor rogue class as they still can't get no new hero skins (poor Veelera and Maieve, they so lonely).
But of course I also have a day job so, budgeting isn't as nearly as big an issue for me as for the F2P's.
the other thing that ppl don’t get is that you play among equals, if everyone gets 150 legendaries for free, you will still be playing against the same decks as everyone will get the same rewards.
the problem is not the less gold, the problem is that blizzard have made people believe that getting gold to buy a pack will make them stronger players without realising that the same wI’ll apply to everyone else.

Uhm I think people just want to be able to play more than one deck friend. (hopefully) nobody thinks that making a deck with as many legendary cards as possible will give them sky high winrates. What they do is find a cheap aggro deck to craft, so that they can klimb on latter and get better rewards. This is also a call for more diverse match-ups.

The game is starting to loose it's shine as I realise the multiple psychological tricks they use to increase spending on their game.

I buy everything that blizzard puts out. Also, I play mostly on my phone but i don't purchase on iPhone so that Blizzard can keep more of the money.

Is that a murloc? Yawn....conceede!
blizzard have two options regarding hearthstone
- They either continue as is or even make it more expensive(!!) Some whales will keep on paying forever, however the majority of players who currently buy bundles will stop playing and the player base will shrink, resulting in pretty much the death of the game
- they lower the prices significantly, aim for higher volume of transactions rather than few transactions for loads of $$. This way they keep the existing user base, attract more players and stop the “anti blizzard” movement
Keep going guys, you're really making a difference with a hashtag. Blizzard is going to stop trying to make money and give you every card for nothing.
