I think you already know the answer to this question. This game originated on PC and offered mobile as a secondary means of playing; over the years, that model has completely flipped and now we are looking at a mobile experience which allows you to play on your computer if you so desire.
Control style decks are not conducive to a mobile game play style model which needs to keep the player engaged for short bursts of time while they play on the train to work, a lunch break, taking a dump, etc. Control is dead and never coming back.
Early game metas always follow the same cycle. Aggro dominates because it beats up on inefficient decks. Control decks need time to figure out what they are controlling. Control isn't just slapping removal into a deck. It's putting the right removal at the right cost for what's popular. Until you don't know what is popular, you don't know which cards to pla.
You only have to go back a few weeks to find multiple control decks in Tier 2 (bomb warrior and control priest). Besides, Control Warrior is likely going to be a T1 deck on tomorrow's VS report. Bomb Warrior is probably going to be T2.
Aggro rocks... Thank God we can easily deal with little bit of control we see.... Love face hunter and enchantment shaman .... But aggrolicious demon hunter is my favourite.
Absolutly agree! All i face is dh or paladin..and losing to pala who libram the pen flinger and still win just becouse he pulls out infinite value ..kinda stupid..we cant even compare their cards to other classes. DH has everything infinite draw, healing, silencing in 3 minions. Xy face burst dmg andswer to everything i just play. So stupid hs was never been this bad before.
Every expansion I tell myself "this will be the one where I can finally run my control deck" but every time for the past few expansions that hasn't been true, I feel like a good chunk of the control oriented classes have just been pushed out of the meta, like when was the last time any sort of slow Warlock or Mage deck has been viable. I'm just sick of all the games that are ended by like turn 7.
The main thing to say is that Hearthstone has changed as a game. Decks are more powerful. Even aggro decks aren't really what they used to be. There is currently Aggro DH, which is the aggro's side of control warrior. You have Highlander hunter, which has more endgame than a normal aggro deck, but still a standard aggro deck. Then things like Doomhammer shaman are just Tempo Mage style decks, not traditional aggro.
I will admit, so far it seems like Warrior is the only class that houses a strong control deck. It has two of them, Bomb and Control. Control Warrior is in fact a tier 1 deck, and I'm not sure why you think you have the credibility to deny that fact. Bomb Warrior, I will also admit, isn't really a "true" control deck, similar to Doomhammer shaman not being a true aggro deck.
The main finger to point at here is that Warrior has essentially monopolized the control market. Brawl is a card which has pushed Warrior control decks since the start of time. However, decks in the current meta are just too powerful for weaker control decks. What can priest do against Evolve Shaman (no, evolve shaman is not an aggro deck, it is by definition a midrange deck). Priest has their AoE at 7 mana, brawl can stop it, soul mirror cannot.
Now, the claim of control being dead is just not true. There are meta shifts where certain playstyles become null. Last expac decks like Control Shaman, Priest, and Warrior were all perfectly good and viable. If there is one expansion cycle where there is only 1 control deck (keep in mind, that control deck is one of, if not the best deck in the game), that does not mean the archetype is dead. It got bad support. Next expac (or even during the mini expac), it will be back.
The first thing I would say is that it is very different to read too much into a meta on day 7 or whatever this is. Things are constantly changing, new decks are being discovered, existing decks are being refined etc.
The second thing I would say is that all recent metas have had somewhat decent representation of control decks once the meta has settled.
The third thing I would say is one of the most popular decks currently at high legend is ETC Control Warrior. There is also a complaint thread about TIckatus Warlock on the front page of this very forum (although admittedly I don't think the deck is that good).
Exactly that. Almost felt addressed lol

tl;dr chill

yes please really hate control decks most boring decks ever

you are playing hearthstone, of course aggro will dominate, the hero power mechanic only reinforces aggro playstyles
This thread is really odd to me. Control Warrior is currently a Tier 1 deck, I don't understand the idea behind "control being dead."
A lot of very selective memories in this thread.
the only good anti aggro tools in the game is in demon hunter
The Demon Hunter and Hunter Hero powers you mean?
Wow... you can't reply to someone and quote them at the same time here? This website is garbage.
Tier 1? You're out of your mind. Even if it was it would be the only one.
any class that does damage encourages it

Is control warrior really tier 1 in standard? I didn't have any problems against it playing DH.
im legend each season playing only odd warrior so no
And then there are these Wild-players.. dude please.. xD "im playing odd-warrior" XD gtfo!

The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.
Wait... What is a CONTROL deck???
