Happy to say that people seem to be standing firm against this corporate greed this time. Just a few days since expansion released yet my friends list, normally brimming with hearthstone players had just one on last night.
The majority of my friend list is hearthstone players so this is quite telling.
Has anyone else noticed this on their own lists?
Everyone says it’s not paying money that will hurt Blizzard the most, but I disagree. I think merely not playing at all until they fix it will help the exact same cause. I know for certain they have gone too far this time. Never seen so many angry and negative comments from so many in all the years since release!
Still not enough. They are turning to be the most expansive game to play. New players can forget about starting playing because there is no point. I used to say I love the game as I can play it whenever and spend as much time as I prefer on it. I always had enough gold for some cards/packs to be somewhat competitive.
after this expansion I won't spend a cent on HS anymore and only play Bg's.
I'm really enjoying the expansion, personally. If others aren't, sorry. Maybe of enough people leave, they will make the changes you ask for. If not, I hope those people find other games they enjoy and the people who continue to enjoy Hearthstone can do so.
I'm surprised it took this long for people to realize how greedy blizzard has been!
Well that said, there is still a lot of useful idiots around sticking up for this corporate greed, thinking they are getting achievement points when they defend the behavior shown by Activision-blizzard! I've seen too many moral knights in shining armor, saying stupid stuff like, " think its too expensive, stop complaining, or keep your mouth shut, this subject has already been posted many times" dumb shit like that...
But people fail to understand many of us love this game, we want it to be better and we like playing it and we would like to do so for a long time. Also a shout out to J Alexander, he made an awesome constructive post, changes Blizzard could do right now to make this game better for everyone. This would make more people come back and play this game, a shame Activision cant see it through their greedy lenses. We should demand these changes before coming back!!
Give players 10g per win and 5g per loss:
Cut non-golden crafting costs by half
Add equal amounts of dusts to daily quests
Give the Classic set in its entirety to all players:
Make the mid-season expansion free or a small cost, like $5:

I dont know how and why Blizzard has got so greedy especially in last 2 years.
I personally feel the game has gotten much better over the last 2 years. Much faster reactions to nerfs, better solo content, the new reward system (not the track, the chests at the end of each month) are way better than the rubbish you used to get. 2 new game modes have been released and battlegrounds has a pretty busy fan base. I'm loving duels and appreciate it being put in.
We're going to be getting a mini update mid expansions which again, I'm in favour of. It will change the meta up a fair amount. One of the problems of a couple of years ago was the meta staying the same for so long. If you didn't like it, we'll tough. Casual mode maybe?
Now, the META changes regularly, they are bringing a ton of new cosmetics to the game to spice it up, if you don't like the meta at any given time then yohve two seperate modes with totally seperate rules and metas to play, plus wild, brawl etc.
They seem to be putting more in, yes, that probably means they need to increase what they are then getting from the game. I'm OK with that, I don't feel hard done by, I'm enjoying the game a lot at the moment.
With a falling player base, those price increases that make attracting new players even harder, point towards a “let’s make as much as we can before we close the shop” mentality
Imagine the world where this game wasn't this damn expensive and where a bigger % of players could actually craft fun decks instead of some low budget aggro or just 1 or 2 high winrate decks.
For me, that's the biggest problem since it is coupled with repetitive meta and stale feel. I'm sure we would see more diversity on ladder if people could afford interesting decks. Basically, this game needs to become 3x cheaper at minimum. The prices are simply insane, Damn you get Witcher 3 for 10$ and can enjoy your life for 2 months while here you need to spend >70$ to get 3-4 legendaries. Crazy
Keep whining over nothing guys! It seems to be working as they are caving and giving us all better rewards!
Seriously though, for the vast majority of players the new reward system is just a repackaging of the old one, with the same amount of rewards in just a different manner. But because some attention seeking "content creators" and redditors have convinced so many people that their lackluster math is proof of Blizzard's greed, we already got more stuff!
Blizzard has, of course, been greedy and increasing the cost of the game over time, this just happens to be one time when that was not the case. The only mistake Blizzard made in the new progression system is how poorly they communicated it, which is a serious indicator that they are moving backwards instead of forward, even in one of their last few games that are actually good.
I am another person who just quit HS. I love Hearthstone and it followed me through a lot of rough times. But this is too much. They blatantly lied to us and I geniunely feel hurt. I'm playing Gwent right now and it's a very welcome refreshment with, what seems to be, very fair f2p model.
After numerous attempts by Blizzard to try to get money out of my pocket over the years, I have been able to keep my money and still be able to compete by doing daily quests and have enough “gold” money to buy new cards. But every year it got tougher and tougher and I am afraid the end is here for me. I know I am only one player and it will be sad to delete the game but I give up. Good bye fellow gamers , it’s been fun up until now.

How on earth has it got tougher? I have been F2P for 6 years and it has just got easier and easier over time. Duplicate protection, quests are worth more, more free stuff generally...
Being F2P used to be a challenge. Back in 2015 I was like "I wonder if I can play this game competitively F2P? Maybe if I find a good budget deck and get good with it, maybe get better at arena, I can keep up and get to rank 5 every month..."
My biggest 'problem' last expansion was "man, I can't really justify crafting Ace Hunter Kreen as he is only used in 1 deck and is replaceable, but he looks so cool!"
What's wrong with being a Christian, no need to bring in my religion. To be fair Activision could do with some old fashion Christian values: One of the seven sins is greed, corporate greed in this case. And I will be glad to point that out on the forums if you like it or not even if it does hurt your snowflake feelings. Feel free to react to all my posts on this forum as you are clearly doing.
You might find humor offensive but it helps break down barriers and challenge prejudice. You might find it appalling. But I am just exercising my free speech, I am not the one offending anyone's religion, and I am staying within the boundaries of political correctness.

I don't think so. I don't think we can do anything. Also as an addicted whale, thou$ands deep in it, I know I would want nothing more than the game to die (horribly) but I will keep wasting my money to maintain a complete collection I don't even own. And I'm not the only one.

The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.

Take a walk on the wild side...
The reward system is decent imo, rerolling and doing the dailies has become slightly boring.
Yes, if you want all the best decks in standard at any time, it is insanely expensive

I used to have 6 friends online, now its like 11
i used to play like 3+ hrs almost every day, now it's like 10 mins :P (if any )
You're the vocal minority, most people are having fun playing the game, not calculating gold income with spreadsheets.
