Is it not possible to make progress on those achievements in casual mode? Do we have to play stupid cards like Redeemed Pariah or Darkmoon Tonk in ranked mode in order to get this XP?
Seems so. It's one of my main gripes with the new system: everything is hyper focused on forcing you into ranked ladder. That's not where I choose to spend my time in Hearthstone usually, I prefer to do quests and these achievements in casual or even better, in Tavern Brawls.
And the worst thing about being forced into Ranked is that that game mode in particular lends itself to getting hyper focused on just a few decks being played, meaning it gets INCREDIBLY dull.
I think their idea might be to force peopel to play greater diversity of decks in Ranked, but I'm 100% sure that this is not going to work. People play Ranked to, you know, RANK, which means they are not going to take some crappy deck in there and ruin their rank just to get some achievements.
I would feel a lot better about this new system if they hadn;t changed stuff like that or made it so restricted.

I agree 100% but it seems we kind of have to, at some point, mess up our rank a bit because this is 15k XP hidden behind these achievements. I like playing a variety of decks and I am eager to try many new decks, but still around 60-70% of these achievements either involve cards that I'd never run in a serious deck (like the rabbit) or are just ridiculously hard to achieve (revolve 14 minions or get lethal with Oh My Yogg!)
I completed several achievements in duels. Including shaman one that requires buffing X totems with that legendary totem. Took two duel runs with totem shaman without owning the card and only getting it from the heropower.
PS. Don't ever craft legendary\epic cards just to get those achievements. that will never worth it. I must say it is a genius move by Blizzard that will make many players craft stuff they don't actually need.
Just get yourself to the next metal floor (eg, Gold 10 or Platinum 10 etc) where you can't lose stars from, and then bust out achievements there. You'll probably find that all these floors are filled with people doing the same thing, so it could be some silly fun. Also makes passing these floors easier for the serious players.
I'm doing this achievement currently in ranked and it's either bugged or worded poorly. Attack buffs like Abusive Sergeant and Dark Iron Dwarf don't seem to contribute to the 10 attack goal. So, looks like I get to do this the hard (and stupid) way. Boo.
Edit: Just finished it. Playing in Chicken ranks in Wild and after about an hour and a half or so, I finally managed to get up to 10 attack.
From what I can tell, you have to END your turn with him at 10 attack and he has to keep it. So, temp buffs like the Abusive Sergeant are no good but permanent buffs like Wriggling Horrorshould work. For the record, I managed to just cast 8 Outcast cards to get him to 10 but I still didn't get the achievement until I ended my turn, hence the theory on the permanent buffs.

Mad summoner into revolve, if you can survive to turn 7 it's not that difficult I think. Or actually, on turn 3 if you have both pieces of ramp.
Oh my yogg is idiotic, to be certain, no idea how to get that at all.

aw man really? It sucks that achievements that reward XP only rerquire ranked play. I was planning to do those in friendly challenges.
imagine, if friendly challenges count, that would make the game more interesting I think. Maybe something like 80g trade thread, an achievement completion thread would have opened.
On the other hand, achievement progression for this XP rewarding ones will only be credited in ranked, arena and duels. So you cannot just make experiment without risk...
So when I was doing "Two Punch Man" with a Doomhammer, 2 Rockbitter Weapons and a lot of draws, I was extremely lucky that the setup was perfect for turn 6.
But it is sad, that Blizzard do not let us handle this achievements as puzzles to try without risk.
Unpopular opinion: Having it only work in Ranked makes the achievements way more epic. If you only see them as a way to grind gold, then it’s gonna feel bad, but if you want achievements to actually feel like achievements then this is a good thing.
“Dude I just summoned Greybough 20 times in one game!”
”So what, you just got a friend to help you set up the game state and then kill the right minions for you at the right time, right?”

Under the last ladder system that was true, but now matches are MMR based, not at the same rank.
I only expect the average player that plays enough to get half the of the achievement xp awards. FTP players would have to play duels often as they might only play a few classes an expansion.

Does anybody knows if it is possible to do the specific exp MDF achievements with friends?
I think ALL achievements should reward with XP.

Does Eye For An Eye work with Oh My yogg?
Revolve is not that difficult with the minions summoned by the new yogg, and the help of jepetto
Edit: better with mad summoner. I thought it was a warlock card, but it's common
In Duels you can make progress and not even have to own the legendaries just pick them from buckets.

I tried with mad summoner and it didn't work (the achievement is showing 13/14 minions transformed). Does anyone else have the same issue?
You probably revolved one of the minions into a dormant one.
When you do that, it doesn't count. Nothing you can do about that of course.
It's stupid and idiotic like many other things with this game right now.
For the "Not so lonely" achievement: temporary buffs are not enough....

This is crazy as the text says "control". I did the same as the OP in the link.
