If company tries to make money on product made by this company - it's perfectly natural. It is not a problem, period.
Also, I don't have problem with giving money to Blizzard, because I really like this game if I want to have some extra cards without spending too much time. If I can achieve something more with pre-orders, and I am willingly to give the my money, I don't have problem with that.
The problem lies somewhere else. Blizzard lied to us about new system. They hid amount of values of leveling up in new system, because what they said erlier, that we will get at least the same amount of gold for the same amount of time spending on play, turned out to be a blatant lie.
I like achievements and many other thing in this new system, but amount of prizes received from play is so low compared to old system. Not all things are bad, but lie is a lie, and it's very unethical. We can received less gold and cardpacsk for more gold and more time spended, and that's neither good buisness for player (especially for those who want remain F2P), nor treating all players fairly, because they lied to us.
So from now, I have a problem with giving my money to Blizzard, if the new system will be fixed. And I'm not lying.
The problem is spending 80 euro on a game and not even getting close to a complete collection, thats bs. If you think about it 80 euro is so much money for so many people, so why is it so hard to just reward the player with a complete set of cards each expansion when they commit so much?
My problem with whales defending Blizzard is that they would not use the same thinking on other companies.
You all trash EA, Ubisoft and other gaming companies for selling DLCs and microtransactions, but defend Blizzard. On comparison I pay 100 euro at EA for Premier access and I can play all the games while on HS I need to pay 80 euro for 4 legendaries.
Streamers that get invited to their 200.000 invitationals don't talk about the new problems to not lose their dirty money (see Savjz case). Blizzard have them by the balls.
Yeah, I agree about that not even getting close to collection. It's not cool. But personally, I don't want to have full collection of each expansion, simply because I don't need all cards. But I understand that not everyone see world in way I do.

IMO cost for crafting cards should be lowered.
With the already huge amount of cards in the game, spending 1600 dust to craft a single legendary is crazy.
DE a legendary gives you 1/4 of its value, while DE a common card gives you 1/8. Why is this still a thing?

I used to recommend this game to my friends and iv gotten a few of them to play it with me and it was great fun, i don't do that anymore however because the game has gone so expensive that if they where to play it for a moderate amount of money (60-100 euro an expansion) they could hardly play more than 1 deck and they are not able to experiment with the cards (which for me at least is what makes the game fun)
Yes, making money in itself is not a bad thing (although some comments suggest that it is something bad) by company, but they do that in really bad, dumb way.
Whales defending Blizzard are a huge problem. As long as they buy into this crap, and Activision makes the profit they planned, nothing will get better.
I dont have a problem spending money on a game if i get that value in full return. Sadly, this is not the case with HS right now.
This is the first expansion i pre-ordered since i play this game because the card set got me so hyped. (old gods and stuff)
But the battlepass bulls* is going to kill this game man. They didnt even need to mess with it. Just leave it at always have been. They made a change for the worse, thats absurd in so many ways.

Totally agree with you. I have zero issue buying Blizzard product, but this new system turned out to be an outright lie. I'm at the point now that even with the tavern pass, it's gonna be a slog to level after 20.
Solem, at the risk of losing the freebies Blizzard likes to give content creators, just did a video on how bad this new system really is and what they can do to fix it. Zeddy is a another content creator who is blowing the whistle on Blizzard as well.
Solem's video is so well explained, he actually has me thinking this might be my last expansion for the game without major revisions to the crafting and reward systems. At least when I played MtG, my cards had physical value. And for gaming, I played Elder Scrolls and Guild Wars for literal years without spending a dime.

Grammar is the difference between knowing your crap, and knowing you’re crap.
Sometimes I also wonder how many more people would pre-purchase an expansion if the prices were a lot lower. I have a couple of friends that used to play a LOT of hearthstone. But they played a lot for a couple of months and then take a break for a couple of months. This made it very hard for them to come back everytime they felt like playing again. Eventually they quit, because getting back into the game was too time-consuming or simply too expensive.
Most of them told me that they were willing to pay something like 30-50 euros so they could get back into the game. So if blizzard were to put the pre-purchase bundles at 20 euros for small bundle and 40 euros for big bundle approximately, they would actually buy one or two bundles and were very willing to keep playing whenever an expansion hit.
I have bought bundles in the past. But I don't feel the game is worth it to me to spend 80 or 120 euros to pre-purchase both bundles. If the cost for 130 pack (both bundles usually) was somethin like 50-60 euros, I would pre-purchase every single expansion. And I believe a lot of people would feel this way. Lowering the cost of the game will have more people spend money on it. Earning them more money overall and getting the game an even better playerbase.
Maybe they make more money with the prices as they are. I don't know. But I do know that they would make more money off of me, if the prices were lower. Because for my own conscience, I can not spend 80 euros every 4 months (for 85 packs). And I do very much enjoy the game. So I don't feel bad at all spending money on it. Spending money on something I enjoy is a very natural thing for me to do. It's just that I don't feel I get enough out of my money to justify the amount I have to put in it.

Of course, I would be really happy if price for pre-orders would be lower.
As you pointed out, IMO it would be beneficial for players (less money spend per person) and also for company (more players willingly to buy pre-orderders).
I bought the bundle and got only 2 legendaries that I dont will use (Deck of Lunacy and Tenwu)... and now I discover that new system will give less gold while the game have more legendaries now with the Demon Hunter. I think that I will continue play, but only like f2p now and more casual.

I mean, if you're not gonna use two of the best legendaries in the set, why even play the game at that point?
Honestly this is a very silly thread. People are talking about "F2P can barely even make one deck" bruh. I was F2P for five years and had at least 3-4 decks per set.
People in other threads have done the math and under the old system, a casual player would get enough gold for ~70 packs or so over the course of the xpac. With the new system you get enough for about 65 packs, PLUS you get packs and extra cards through the reward system itself. The average player, playing an average amount of time, receives 30-40% more under this system than under the old system.

It's simple. I don't have a big collection. I focus craft shaman, warrior and hunter cards to have more chance to create new decks without expend tons of dust. If you got good legendaries but need craft many cards, this don't make sense. With 1 more class my chances of get the legendaries that i can play are worst.

They just want to slowly kill F2P until it will become a normally paid game at least if you want to play at higher ranks.
The fact that they what to make money is not a problem per se, it is more the lack of transparency and the lies when they say nothing has changed.

A game in which you can easily spend 700 bucks a year and still not have a full set is pretty ridiculous.
As soon as they started selling card-backs for real money I felt that we are going downhill.

It is not a problem that they want to earn money, the problem is how they do so.
The game is simply too expensive, which it also was before the new reward system.
I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone I know, even though I play a lot and really love playing.
