I feel like a lot of the complaints come from people who play "less than average", if we assume average is roughly 1 hour per day (or 7 hours per week).
To me, it sounds like people want to get a ridiculous amount of rewards for playing, say, 3 hours per week? That doesn't make any sense to me. If you want rewards, you have to slightly grind. I think the new system is either a sidegrade or better than the old system. Factor in the potential pro that getting achievements "feels good"... I don't know why so many people complain. People just love to focus on negativity, and then they complain about why everything sucks haha.
I agree with this, it seems people more and more want more for less. Blizzard have to make money, they have to make profit, they've got staff to pay and no business functions effectively at a loss. They aren't here to look after you or pander to you individually. I often wonder if a lot of these people have jobs and if so, what jobs? It just seems like they have a really naive perspective of the world, very child like in that they can't focus on anything other than their personal preferences and enjoyment. It's something my son used to do until he was about 8 or 9. He now understands that whole he may not like the latest Fortnite update, other people do and he will play or do something else until an update that he is interested is released.
it seems blizzard is paying ppl to create new accounts to protect the system.
The amount of people here protecting blizzard's stupid decisions and laziness is just mind boggling. I feel like a crazy person but I have to agree with you on that one.
They said the "whole point" of the new system is to stop bots,
NOBODY EVER SAID THAT. Reasons for the new system have been laid out and been proven mathmaticly better and richer. Stop trying to force ur angry thoughts
bruh, I dont even know why you wanna reach lvl 150 when the "normal" levels stops at 50. Trying to get maximum rewards is like winning 30 games daily in the old system so you could get daily 10*10 gold. I almost never reached that cap unless there is a tavern brawl that usually ends on turn 3 or 4.
the real question should be "is this new system actually more rewarding?"
the reward track lasts until every NEXT expansion so one should calculate the average gold you can get between expansions while considering 10 gold rewards too. So that you can make a true comparison.
in fact Ima try to do that soon, and will update :)
Initially I was happy with the change but then I realized how much xp you need for lvl 150 (644k xp!!!). They messed up the xp numbers so bad. You need to spend 10 hours every day to reach the cap. With the old system, let's say you are a tryhard spamming aggro decks on casual to reach the 100 daily cap. So let's say you're playing 6 min matches with a 50% winrate that means 5 wins per hour. You would need 6 hours daily to get 160 gold (there are 50g quests but there are also 80g and 100g so let's say 160g everyday). 160 times 120 days= 19200 gold. Now you need to deticate double of that time just to get 1000 more gold and 16 packs. Technically the cap is higher and it's friendlier to casuals as you don't need to win, but much much more time consuming.
Also it'll be easy to hit lvl 50 in 3 months of normal play and quest completion and you'll get 5400 gold and 16 packs. With the old system by getting 80gold every day (doing quests and getting 6 wins per day) times 90 days, you'd get 7200 gold. Pretty much the same rewards but you'd get to choose the packs yourself which is actually much better as many people would just save the gold for the next expansion.
I repeat at first I was very satisfied with the revamp, as I thought they progress would be as easy as in other games' similar tracks, but unless they change the xp needed or the xp given from quests it's objectively worse. People will realize that, when even the pass owners will struggle to hit lvl 100.
I am not pulling this out of my ass. You can check outofcards for more detailed explanation. Not sure if I am allowed to post links.
So anyone here has ever gain more than 10k for expansion, but now when you can gain nearly 20k (without paying a single euro) you complain.
You people will complain even if the game rewards you with the whole colecction
I am not judging you because at first I thought the same, but to get that 20k is like reaching the old daily cap of 100 gold every single day. So it's pretty much the same thing if not worse. Don't think many people will get over 10k now.
Because if you read between the lines it's a pro F2P player rant. It's basically crying at the fact that Blizzard is trying to.......god forbid......make a profit off their product, because that's how capitalism works. Instead of just accepting that they get a free pass off the backs of actual paying customers, they cry when their precious ability to collect "something for nothing" is threatened.
F2P has it's place. It bolsters the playing population. Gives people a chance to try the game out. Helps those who genuinely don't have disposable income. But much like irl Welfare, its ranks are populated by players that exploit it and have zero inclination to contribute a penny to the game. If the game shuts down? Oh well, move on to the next game to exploit. Absolute leeches that come off like they are video game revolutionaries.

Atm ive havent played much, im working for 9 hours a day and i play just at dinner and at night and with the f2p system i am already at lvl 24 so for now i feel its not so hard to lvl up thats why i feel its much the same but a bit better.
Ive been for years thinking that the 10 gold per 3 wins was a lack of respect
I think the new Reward System is, bad for all players , to reach lvl 50 you need to play every day 2-3 hours and thats a lot. so if youz dont manage to reach the highest lvl you have less gold and that means the next expansion is pay day for blizzard, less gold means less packs for us and less packs means more gold for blizzard.

They don't expect people to aim for level 150 in the first place. There's only a cap so that people don't find a loophole for limitless gold which they have to fix. People like you who bothered to "calculate" shit like that.

I am at a similar level as well but as you go up it will be harder. No logic person will say the system got much worse but it didn't get better either. The main difference is it gives you more gold upfront and less in the later months. There are 2 main points someone could criticize.
First, getting to lvl 50 will equal to about 3 months of play. You need 196.2k xp for that and you'll gain 46,400 per month from quests and 11,200 xp per month from ranked matches if you play 1 hour daily, 22,400 for 2 hours and so on. That means a player playing 2 hours a day will get a total of 68,800xp per month, reaching lvl 50 in 2.8 months=84 days. With the old system a player playing 2 hours a day would get 6 wins so 60 from quest+20 from wins=80 gold daily, times 84 days= 6720 gold. Now on paper 5400 and 16 packs is better than 6720 gold. But me and many other players would rather have the gold to spend on the next expansion than get packs from previous expansions.
Second point of criticism is that wanting to complete a reward track should be a much more realistic goal than reaching the daily cap of 100 gold EVERY SINGLE day and many people will be dissapointed to find out that it requires even more grinding.
PS:Challenges can offer up to 28,800 xp which if you manage to complete all of them will take you from lvl 50 close to lvl 57 (-600 xp). So that's an extra 1050 gold IF you do all of them.

You have a Naruto Profile picture. Are you old enough to say something like that? Do you realize that many ppl work, study and just used to play HS by 2-3hours a day, for 30 days and was really okay with that? Get some responsability in your life first than you can come back here and speak of adults.
For what it's worth, I'm a 31 year old accountant, working full time (and overtime actually), even during these Covid times haha. Sorry I have expendable money to play games that I enjoy. Maybe wait until you're out of your crazy partying college days before committing to video games that require some grinding time.
Also, sorry that I happen to love anime (Naruto in particular haha). Feels completely irrelevant to this discussion. I even fully weebed out and got myself an Itachi tattoo, but maybe we can talk about that in off topic forum threads =P.
(side note: the "89" in my username/battle tag refers to, surprise, my birth year haha, so I'll let you confirm the math on my mentioned age at the start of this post)
Such a lovely guy calling you a kid having “420 prince” as his name LOL.
These complain at the first day posts are beautiful.
Yeahhh he's definitely showing his age one way or another lol. At least he's not a Trump supporter, so he got one thing right =P. Not sure why he brought politics into it though.
The argument he mentioned earlier of "If you have time, you have no money, if you have money, you have no time" doesn't even make sense. I guess he spends his money on all those, you know, 420 "adult" things rather than enjoyable games haha.
Also I barely even care about Hearthstone. It's just fun to watch complaints after Hearthstone announcements. If they released something cooler and more exciting, maybe I'd spend the money. But as things are right now, I'll just wait until I can find a PS5 to buy lol.
