Yeah, If it was only 5 cards destroyed it might be fine, but when you can get 10 or 15 cards discarded with Brann Bronzebeard or Y'Shaarj, the Defiler you don't have a chance.
The game ended when I still had 4 cards in my deck.
If not for Tickatus, I would've had 9 cards in deck. Same outcome.
For matchups that tend to go to fatigue, this makes a huge difference. In most cases, the game is decided before that. A 6 mana 8/8 is good, but is it a game-ender? Not on its own.
Don't worry, any kind of Control Warlock will be soon washed out by aggro decks and you won't see him again for next couple months. Give this deck a week or so and it will simply die off.
I don't care if it is good or not but opponent nullifying my fkn deck with only a single card is absurd I want to be able to play my fkn deck you know.
But it's a legendary card and it is corrupted. It is not so easy to generate it. If it weren't corrupted, it would destroy owner's deck. Think about it this way.
I agree with Carfusso, this card is unbalanced atm. I have nothing against discard strat, but come on, 5 discards, replaying it twice, removing most likely all your opponents deck at midgame, it's simply too much. I disagree with the "he needs to get corrupted" argument, since it's very easy to corrupt him by reducing his cost beforehand.
So far I had a good 10 matchup against it and I never saw any opponent discarding his own deck, even for a tempo play. Playing Yogg mage, I got to get frustrated seeing Yogg getting discarded, but hey, that's how it is and I accept, I just think that this is way too much discard.
But like every expansion, it will gets nerf, obviously. They should tune it down to something like randomly discards 1-3 cards repeatable or 5 just one time. Or make Tikatus harder to get corrupted.
Need to be massively overnerfed now or nothing else than control warlock and hyper aggro will exists.
this, yeah, people will be pissed off very soon, after 10th not-completed C'thun, after 15th discarded N'zoth, after 20th never played Yogg.. they just say: well, that wasn't fun at all, fuck it, there goes my face hunter boys and I mean it...
oh someone is new at the game i guess. never heard of "mill" archetype? this card is just super fun to play :) i enjoy whether im playing or playing against. ur gonna ask me how do i like playing against. well its the point. u gotta play around their mill turn by playing tempo on their prep turns and i find it challanging. ps: its not too hard. Im glad hs brought back mill archetype. <3
Requires setup is right. Also pay attention to their cards. If they play a 7 or 8 Mana card...use dirty rat or draw as many cards as you can.
The tickatus decks aren't even that fast. Aggro can beat any tickatus deck. They end games between around turn 4 or 5.
I don't mind tickatus because in wild it provides a good counter against mill rogue, raza priest, shudderwok, and more. These decks have ruled for too long. Let warlock have something.
Warlock was doing just fine in control matchups without a toxic card like Tickatus. We already had Dirty Rat and Gnomeferatu to disrupt combo. Not only is the battlecry powerful, but it has an 8/8 body that provides value and pressure with no downside.
I just met a mill Rogue with coldlight oracle. I used Tickatus with Brann and destroyed his entire deck. I won. I reached Nirvana right away! So glorious!
The problem with Tickatus is that when it does work, it feels really bad. I played 8 warlocks yesterday, 2 won via Tickatus and those games completely stand out because its annoying to have your deck burned and in one game they had used feolosophy to double up the initial one. Very annoying.
But I did win the other 6, one was on turn I drew my second fatigue card. It's just a frustrating thing to lose to but I don't think it's over powered or game warping. Maybe people aren't piloting it correctly.
But against slow, greedy decks then yeah, this warlock deck will punish you like crazy. The amount of board clears and removal has is crazy.
I'm playing a ton of deck of lunacy mage no minion Mage though and it's quite amusing seeing their hand constantly brimming because it's full of removal with no targets. This mage deck seems to fare quite well against it to be honest. It can potentially draw through its deck quite rapidly and get over the line before the shananigans can really kick in.
But yeah, I totally agree it feels awful to lose to but then I think the concept of mill decks is terrible, personally. One of the least fun ideas in a card game ever. But other people seem to love it so.... As long as it isn't running wild, I can accept it being around.
I want to point out something and that is related to the overall game design of hearthstone in that thinning out opponents options to answer specific threats on the board is a very core game mechanic and present since day 1. This is used to balance all three archetypes respectively and I want to explain that Tickatus's ability does the same thing, only more obvious (since you see your cards get shredded one by one)
If I play combo with dozens of big threats and duplicating/value generating cards (those 40 or 50 card decks you sometimes see) that usually don't have Taunt/Heals to help vs. Aggro but deathrattle abilities to stay on the board to counter boardclears and single target removals to kill Control (example decks: Big Demon Warlock or Ramp Druid), I'm technically thinning out opponents answers (boardclears/removals) to counter my cards/threats (big, cheap, valuable minions). That's also the reason why a card like Gruul can definitely work, but needs to be put in the right deck to shine. With enough big other minions Gruul can really stomp in the late game (that was at Classic/Basic times though)
Example: while a Cairne Bloodhoof turn 6, turn 7 Faceless Manipulator + Ancestral Spirit combo is ignored by Aggro decks (e.g. Murlocs) since they want to finish you off by turn 5/6 anyways, it creates huge value for it's cost and Control needs at least 2 cards to counter this if they can't use Hex or Polymorph and will struggle even more if you have more big minions you can duplicate that easily.
Rattlegore is another example. Most Control decks will have huge issues killing it if they don't morph it somehow and thus waste multiple cards to get rid of it because their game plan revolves around reaching late game and destroying wide/small-health minion boards. That is the exact opposite to a big, undying threat on the board. Those wasted cards could also be the cards Tickatus removes from your deck. It's technically the same. Only that Tickatus doesn't have Rattlegore's Deathrattle.
The same thing happens to Aggro vs. Control btw.: Aggro will simply be out of cards since most control cards aim to go 2 for 1 or in the best case scenario 7 for 1 cards overall. Tickatus' effect is irrelevant vs. Aggro because of Aggro using the least amount of cards of all three archetypes.
While I can understand that it isn't fun to see 5 cards getting deleted from your deck, Tickatus and Rattlegore technically do the same thing to Control: They waste cards.
TL;DR: In an aggressive meta Tickatus won't be a problem, in a Control heavy meta, in the right deck, it can make a difference.
Yeah, If it was only 5 cards destroyed it might be fine, but when you can get 10 or 15 cards discarded with Brann Bronzebeard or Y'Shaarj, the Defiler you don't have a chance.

I played one game against him.
The game ended when I still had 4 cards in my deck.

3x tickatus on board turn 6/7
keep calm, everything is fine. Everything is under control.
Just to keep you assured this deck is utter crap. It can pull combo once every blue moon.
Don't worry, any kind of Control Warlock will be soon washed out by aggro decks and you won't see him again for next couple months. Give this deck a week or so and it will simply die off.
I have had it played against me 2x and I won both games with a mid range Shaman deck. I think we will all be ok.....
Tickatus destroyed my 5 cards but after that, I picked 2 Grand Finale s consequtively and won. Thank you Tickatus

Anyway, may the rng force be with you !
Tikatus need to be a 8/8 vanilla for 8 manas in normal state, lose the demon tag and only have the ability of destroy opponent deck after corruption.
For 6 and having the demon tag the corrupted requirement is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy.
Need to be massively overnerfed now or nothing else than control warlock and hyper aggro will exists.
guys as for now, there is no warlock deck with win ratio over 50%. Chill ;)
that's not the point. it's like so many other cards or classes which got nerfed: it's just not fun and interactive to play against
this, yeah, people will be pissed off very soon, after 10th not-completed C'thun, after 15th discarded N'zoth, after 20th never played Yogg.. they just say: well, that wasn't fun at all, fuck it, there goes my face hunter boys and I mean it...
