Now with Free Admission you can play Tickatus on turn 4 or trigger it's corrupted version easier once it's cheaper. Ring Matron also seems nice with that spell.

Why tf would you play it on turn 4 to burn 5 off your own deck?
And what kind of Warlock deck are you running that drops all other demons to guarantee you pull Tickatus, and can waste turn 3 for a draw 1?

Burning cards off your own deck does not matter unless you are either a combo deck or a control deck that wants to go to fatigue. 4 mana 8/8 for that "drawback" is pretty good. You probably run a demon only aggro/midrange deck. The wasted turn 3 might be too slow though.
and that is a laughably easy task in a control mirror, expecially one where the oppponent is 5 deeper AND didn't get to play those 5 cards
I haven't had a control mirror go that long in months my guy, and I've been fucking with Highlander decks a lot. I also haven't seen fatigure in anything except turbo DH or maybe stealth Rogue that gets off double Passage.
I just doublechecked, and Big Warrior, the most control oriented deck I can think of in the meta, runs an average of 11.5 turns. Even Rez and Control priest are averaging 11-14 depending on the deck. You're talking about a matchup that's already pretty rare, and a turn count that is hitting 5% of those games. A card being useful in 5% of situations in 5% of matches isn't exactly the best card in the game. Hell, Harrison is useful more often than that and no one is calling him broken
I'm gonna guess you only play standard if you think big warrior is the most control oriented deck in the meta (and honestly it is more akin to a slow midrange deck) same goes with rez priest as they both focus on surviving the first few turns then playing EXTREMELY high tempo cards to gain back the board and win via an absurd amount of threat that happened too early to be contested effectively
in a game where 2 decks that are focused on responding to threats it is stupidly easy for someone that LEGIT REMOVED 5 cards from the opponent's deck to force the game to go to that point and get the free win
I once dreamed that Blizzard would bring back the original Illidan card ( 7/7 battlecry both players discard 3 cards and draw 3 cards).
But discard 5 opponent cards without any drawback, and still have a 6 mana 8/8 against aggro.. Oh man, that is lovely.
Also this card is not uniteractive at all. The corrupt keyword forces all sorts of interactions to happen before playing the card, it's not like you just have to draw it and play it immediately and win the game, you know, like most combo decks do.
Seeing combo decks use dirty rat tech in their decks and failing to get my Tickatus will be a sweet revenge.
I feel personally insulted by you calling me a combo player...then again, I supposed I can't get TOO offended since you clearly can't read the part where I expressed my deep and rooted hatred for those archetypes
I'm sorry my post wasn't directed at you personally nor do I hate anyone behind a combo deck, I didn't even read your post with much attention, I'm just using this thread as a vessel for expressing my joy, I just hate OTK combos and welcome anything that gives me a fighting chance with suboptimal/meme decks against those insane wild combo decks and isn't a dead card against other archetypes.
Who doesn't like a win button, right? Combo decks have one. Or two. Or three... I have one too now. Never really liked dirty rat it does either nothing or bad things in 80% of games.
dw bud, I was lowkey joking anyway
to answer your question of "who doesn't like a win button?"....me, I personally hate it, it goes against everything I stand for and everything I believe a balanced and healthy game should be

Of course you would need to create a demon only deck with some lower drop demons too so you can draw them with Free Admission and play them at the same turn with a chance of getting Tickatus for mid-game as a bonus. Tickatus is obviously better played after being corrupted but I can see it being activated much easier if it's cheaper. And in an aggro deck that already drops one minion after another each turn a 4 mana 8/8 is really good, the 5 cards lost do not matter in aggro vs. aggro or vs. combo.

Of course we're talking about Standard, nobody gives a shit about Wild and the game is not balanced for Wild, genius. Wild doesn't matter.

A 4 mana 8/8 isn't that great. We've been having 4 mana 7/7s for years, and they were good but not broken.
I see a lot of people immediately jumped into card either being thrash or good. I dont know what op was intended but personaly speaking i dont think its about being thrash or good as a power wise. The card as a stat wise and the text wise is disgusting in a meta that WİLL BE slow. At least thats what it looks like so far. Imagine in old gods expansion you are playing a nzoth deck. And the guy plays this to burn it. Boom gone, reduced to atoms. How would it feel? Yes maybe you still somehow win, but the feeling it lefts in your mouth is just absoulute garbage. One of the biggest examples i can give is divine favor. Divine favor god hof'd because it was a card that punished a playstyle. Any time you want to play control divine favor would punish you for playing control deck. How is that my fault? What could i have changed? Nothing. But against a hunter deck oh boy you would never be able to play divine favor. Maybe to draw 1-2 card. Also same feeling was on shudderwock. If you were a control deck shudderwock would always win. he had heals, a combo that would %100 win and there was no distruption cards. I was literally conceding all my matches against shaman instantly. I am not saying game shouldnt have tech cards. One of the card i love the most in this game is dirty rat for gods sake. But if the tech is more spesific or avoidable its way to better. For example if tictatus was discarding like 2, 3-5 mana cards and 3, 7-10 mana cards. I am just saying some dumb idea dont stick to it, it could be way to much better. Since i can at least even tho its a really small chance, play around it. And that feeling when you go smart and get rewarded by it is just a perfect moment. But I can in no shape or form ( unless i played polkelt ) can change what i have in my next 5 draws. And its completely jesus take the wheel and make me lose or win the game in a control matchup. As i said the card might not be powerful right now. But if control warlock comes back with enough control card, this card will be the winning card of warlock everysingle time.

A 4 mana 8/8 isn't that great. We've been having 4 mana 7/7s for years, and they were good but not broken.
I mean... played on curve, most of them gave you a huge power spike. (Also there have not been that many 4 mana 7/7s...)
It's more like a Mountain Giant that doesn't force you to stockpile resources.
The reason being that the only viable Draw Engine in aggro is Nightshade Matron + Hand of Gul'dan and Tickatus rivals with Hand of Gul'dan at 6 mana. Also, all those Corrupted cards require it to be in your hand to trigger which is a pretty obvious combo attribute and requires early game card draw to really work out correctly.
It's kinda similar to Rin, the First Disciple in Kobolds and Catacombs which was also part of a slower, value oriented deck that destroyed Control pretty consistently. Early card generation with Demonic Studies and Twisted Knowledge helps with triggering The Dark Portal and eventually discounting Tickatus further. Duplicating him with Felosophy vs. Control felt good and Combo is the only archetype that can take the time to do so. But that's just from my experience. Don't add any non-demon minions though, this will mess with Free Admission.
I have had some huuuge success with Tickatus in my Big Quest Warlock deck. It's really easy to make him work with cards like Twisting Nether and Primordial Drake etc. Not only that, but getting him back with N'zoth and playing him for a free 0-mana 8/8 with an upside is suuuuuper OP. :-)
Blizz. Don't listen to all these whiny comments. If you gonna do something make him cost from 6 mana to 7 then and while you are at it make his statline more spicy with like 6/10 instead of the classic 8/8.
Or maybe a 10/6 so it makes a huge threat on the board if you have to play him to just get a body on your board.
I don't care at all how strong the card is. It is horrible to play against, and I personally don't find it fun to win the game with almost no effort against control decks. Destroying 10 cards from the opponents deck with no downside is not interactive at all. Having my Rattlegore stolen by a priest sucks, but at least we're still playing Hearthstone.
If you play a reno priest mirror, it is about who gets their 0 mana deal 2 first, but both players get to play the game and have some fun. A Tickatus mirror is a race to prevent the other player from playing the game.
Gnomeferatu is a similar non-interactive card in control warlock decks. I despise this card too, but at least it required some effort and sacrificing value to pull off a 6 card removal. The downside of Tickatus is that you have to play one of your many 7+ cards that you were going to play before this expansion anyways.
I just hope people won't start hating warlock just because of this card.
There was literally a card that destroyed half your deck for the same effective mana cost and it was awful.
NERF TICKATUS IMMEDIATELY

I'd rather lose than win after having my win condition milled.
After some testing it turns out that Tickatus is actually best played (for me) in a big demon combo deck along with Free Admission, Felosophy and Ring Matron.

I played it yesterday, burnt my opponent's C'thun and Zephyrs and still lost.... to Yogg
Tickatus won't ruin the game, relax.

it is an anti control control card, it does what it is suppose to do, maybe be less greedy

Tickatus isn't fun or interactive
The problem i have with it, is felosophy, and Y'Shaarl. I played a game that in 3 turns I lost my entire deck, had 3 8/8s and a 10/10 to deal with.
