I hate to spoil the party, but Tickatus Warlock just isn't very good. Anyone want to place a friendly wager with me that when the Vicious Syndicate report comes out tomorrow, Control Warlock is tier 3 or lower?
Tickatus does so its more or less the only control deck that can be played..... And its not milling 5 cards its 10 when it comes again for 0 mana. Broken cards that takes away option and fun. This card is the reason the meta is full of aggro... That simple
Show me a control deck that dosent lose to ticktus warlock ? That one cards is to strong milling 10 cards at turn 10 is maybe the most broken shit there have ever been in HS. Its forces a aggro meta..... And its fine with aggro meta because there are always control decks to counter them, but right now if you play a control deck (warrior/mage/druid/pala) And you face a tickatus warlock you can just go afk because there is 0 chance.

I've had great success with Control Warrior running Rattlegore and copying it. Control Warlock has no answer for it.
But yeah Tickatus does feel bad to play against, especially when they mill half your deck.
- Archivist Elysiana helps in every control deck, if you encounter that wl deck very often. (according to MetaStats though, you wont)
- That warlock is reliant to get to Tickatus in the midgame and Y'Shaarj in the late game to win... but even then not even guaranteed. It is maybe annoying but definetly not OP. (Essentially a combo deck that doesn't even kill if combo is drawn)
- If a simple direction of archetypes can dismantle this deck that reliably, it simply isn't good. Wich will make it an occasional encounter at best. (you know the old rock-paper-scissor principle of Aggro-Combo-Control)
- A control deck being unfavored against another control deck is also as old as time. Those loosing against WL are likely more favored/build against aggro/midrange encounters.
I had a game where the lock played 3 Tickatus and burned 15 of my cards. He still lost, thank god I had my 2 Pyro and C'thun to punch his face. But burning 15 cards is a bit too much. What if someone could burn all your cards with a bit of luck, what use is a card game if your opponent has no cards?
While Tickatus could be annoying at times, I'd say it's not as bad, as Resurrect Priest or Freeze Mage, who makes you feel hopeless in certain matchups. He's like a ticking bomb that can go off any moment, but it doesn't have to. Warlock needs to draw him, draw his corrupt activator (one from like 2-3 in entire deck) and find right time to play both. And even if he manage to do all of this, it doesn't guarantee him victory.
Act aggressively, don't give him time to draw his cards and constantly play new threats that he won't not be able to ignore. He can't heal consistently and doesn't have that many removals (especially hard ones), so he won't be able to withstand your pressure for long.
In wild it's actually hindered by being a demon as it messes up your voidlord cheating.
Yes, but pulling out an 8-8 for free isn't the worst thing in the world. I play it in my reno deck as an extra wincondition (with Brann, and/or Zola- and not with the corruptpackage). Works great imo
Tickatus is an awesome card but it's also not very good. I don't think Tickatus Warlock will be a thing (in Standard). It's just too slow and inconsistent which is a terrible combination. I imagine it's frustrating to play against as a control deck with no win condition other than to exhaust your opponent of resources but even a slow plodding deck like Res Priest can put out more than enough pressure to win the game even with a corrupted Tickatus going off.
The one caveat to add is that I can see Tickatus Warlock being a choice for GM and tournaments as part of a specific lineup but that's about it. My guess is it won't see much play after the first month.

The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.

@Mxller The meta is ALWAYS full of aggro at the beginning of an expansion... (...)
Aggro decks are cheap to build, reap fast wins and are especially good against unrefined decks. That simple.

One nice thing for blizzard about their terrible. reward track, it takes attention away from their terrible game design.
So bad I did not open him in golden...
