I think I would enjoy an immense card pool. The problem with the current (not for long) small card pool is that you expect so many specific cards to be played. Expecting only certain mechanics or synergies instead would probably be better for the game in the long run.
I honestly can't wait for that to gradually occur. It will become more interesting and less telegraphed, with "great plays" becoming the product of general game knowledge and mechanics, and not simply specific card interactions like we have now.
Although to answer the OP's question, I honestly can't fathom what the game will be like in the next 5-10 years. I mean, there's only so many stats per cost you can fit into cards right? I see it being pretty difficult bringing in new cards without watering down what we have unless they introduce new mechanics every time. If that's the case, won't standard cards without any mechanics eventually become completely useless and not worth to play? Bye Chillwind Yeti, my old friend ..
I expect to see different types of draft tournaments, as in MtG. They were personally always my favourite when I played, (1995-1998'ish). (Gawd I really need to check my MtG cards, I heard "Force of Will" etc sold pretty well these days ;)).
TBH it will only be more and more futile to play "constructed" as a newcomer unless they keep upping value per mana on expansions, (like they seem to be doing in GvsG).
In ten years they will have just finished this emergency maintenance and ill be able to open my gvg packs
I don't think it will take so long.
no gaming company can survive the loss of playerbase after a 10-year maintenance break, not even Blizzard.
i think it will be much shorter than that, 2 days would be maximum.
you must be fun at parties
At the beginning of the party not so much, but usually after a few drinks i'll loosen up a bit. I had 2 parties where i was categorized as one of the "party animals" group.

It can't be easy trying to make new and original cards, without stepping on the toes of already loved cards. All in all, Blizzard did well for their first new major expansion in HS. There was very little power creep, nothing to honestly worry about. Of course we will have to see what exploits and OP effects millions of players will come up with.
I'm with 111luminate on this one, in a future far far away, with thousands of cards to choose from, it will be nice being surprised, and having to stay on your toes because you can't really tell whats exactly in their deck. I mean, net deking will always be here though.

How this game will evolve really depends on blizzard alone. If they keep giving us addons (like probably this one) which aren't a pure power creep and if the cost doesn't go up, the game may even grow. The worst thing they could do would be addons which can only be bought by real money. The sad thing is that this is very possible with blizzard. So we will see, more cards will greatly improve the fun and fanbase of this games, blizzard-greed will destroy it very quickly if they do so.

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?

I do look forward to the time when there are more options for crazy tech cards out of nowhere.
Hopefully in the next few years we get some kind of 2v2 game mode. That would be just pure madness.

I think this could be fun, and also be done in this game. It would be a little more complex, but still could be simple enough they might think about doing it.
I for one will love when there are 2000+ cards, the thing is... there will always be the decks that are just 'better' so ladder will always be this way. But more often then now you will see more people with small personal preference changes.

Most of the extra space is land, and the rest filled in by 4-ofs? Diversity within decks is already higher in HS.
I love Hearthstone. In 10 years there will be probably be like over 9000 cards lol. And we'll be collecting them all hahaha.

I'm thinking in 5 years Hearthstone will still be authenticating my purchase.
New cards that have
Battlecry-Kill a random player.
Destroy your minions or your opponents minions.(Chosen randomly)
