The demo showed that achievements would reward some orange points of some sort, but as far as I know, they did not talk about them at all.
Seems kinda weird if they end up having no purpose whatsoever.
In most games the achievement IS the purpose, and I don’t see why it would be different here.
I expect the system will be very akin to that in WoW. Each achievement gives some points that serve no other purpose than to compare with others and give a sense of progress. Maybe very few cosmetic rewards sprinkled in there, but not the norm. To me, that’s perfectly okay. I like having something to work towards when playing. I remember when I first got 500 wins with all heroes, my playtime decreased a lot, only to resurge when they introduced the 1000 win portraits. Same with achievements, would give me more incentive to play, even without rewards, just for the sense of completion.

I agree that achievements are fun either way and don't need to grant additional rewards.
That's why I find it strange to additionally award points just for the sake of awarding points. If it's done to rate the difficulty of an achievement, there are more interesting ways to do that. I guess, as a comparative meter of progression, it sort of makes sense to do it that way, considering that the game is ever expanding and there are achievements for many different things. But then again, I don't care much about comparing myself to other players. I just like doing achievements for the sake of completing goals.
Achievements, quests and playing the fame give you XP. Reaching XP levels gives you rewards. All level gives you 150 Gold, and there are other stuff in the free track including packs, Tavern Tickets (free Arena or Duels entry), 1 epic, 2 legendary cards, and a card back. If you reach level 50, you can pick a new hero skin.
Im sure it will be like WoW, meaningless e-points, and cosmetics for harder ones. If they are generous they will give xp and/packs but I could see that going either way.

Do you get anything for completing achievements when they do go live? As they never said in the video or post
