I mean, is this supposed to be a real new game mode???
Blatantly unbalanced classes (has anyone really pulled off a win with warlock until now?). Copy-paste 15-cards decks all over the place. Treasures randomly ranging from 1/1 beasts to "deal 30 damage to the enemy's face".
Giving each player preset decks would have been fairer and less time-consuming, given the actual state of the game.
Are your aware that it is early access with limited content? It's basically a demo
WTH did you expect?
Not yet another outlet for diehard copy-pasters. Just that. But it's pretty clear it's way too much to ask from Blizzard and the brainy Hearthstone's players community.
I've had a decent run with Warlock... Not to 12 mind. If you get discard cards that work with the hero power it's pretty strong in the early rounds and in the late rounds decks are so massive that discard isn't really that harmful most of the time using the hero power to cycle to the power cards in your deck.

There are very few cards to choose from, and the hero powers railroad players into certain types of decks.
Why do you expect people to play bad decks ok purpose?
Sounds like you should just wait for the full release and give it another shot then instead of whining on the internet like a spoiled child.
Oh yeah and let's talk about the great variety of demon hunters builds out there!
But you're right, I'm just a whining spoiled child. This game mode is so awesome and surprising. Let's settle for that marvel, as everybody always does.
I think the idea is good. I haven't played it yet, since I didn't preorder, but it's probably best not to be too critical of it until they release more treasures and stuff.
Sounds to me like it's just a beta. It has problems, they will sort it out.
In all honestly, I think it's a lot of fun. Some balance issues (Warlock hero power...) but then again they only released 1/3 hero power and 1/6 starting treasure so who knows. I like it more than actual constructed so far.
I am getting more and more stoked for this game mode every day.
Even with how limited this early access is, there are so many combinations of fun decks and play styles to experiment with. I can’t wait for more hero powers and starter kits to be released, it will be a plethora of fun to explore!
People complain about the entry cost for the reward path, but I don’t see why, I’m not even sure I will play the reward mode for a long time, I am having a blast in the casual mode and don’t need rewards as the reason to play it.
I'd rather play duels as a casual version of Hearthstone than casual constructed or arena. It gives a ranking for your run so it makes you want to compete, but it's not as draining or frustrating as ladder. The small, singleton deck makes the deck building part more manageable, and the random heroes force you out of your comfort zone. There's lots to like about it if you play it just for fun.
Also, it's a form of Hearthstone, meaning it's a variant of the game I actually signed up for, not some boring auto chess thing that just uses some of the same concepts.
Mr. Kotick (on a rare visit to Blizzard Headquarters) : "Hmm, lets see... we need more gateways to ensure a further rise in Microtransactions, Hearthstone in particular didn't look like its doing too well lately in contributing on financing my well awaited 4.8 billion $ History Supreme Gold Yacht."

The mode has potential to me, but I always preferred regular arena to contructed. I wish the entire of the deck was drafted rather than this 15-card base (I hate net decking and the lack of skill it brings) ...but I understand they wanted to monetize it, and I know Activision - it pisses them off every single day that they didn't figure out a way to monetize battlegrounds properly before it took off.
They need to keep on top of the broken combos and cards in the mode, stuff like robes needs to picked up quickly and removed and/or nerfed quickly. If the game mode becomes like constructed, where its a solitaire race to do the broken game winning shit first (like constructed) then the mode will be dead to me.

Come on. Seriously?
Unbalanced classes and copy-paste cards decks are the same problems that you see in standard/wild mode. Until arena have similars base cards with addons. IMO, duels is almost perfect. I really appreciated this.

What? Earth is orbiting the Sun? What? Some players are netdecking? What? The week has seven days? What? Some fools disenchanted wild cards? What?
What?

I’m enjoying them although it will be much improved at its proper release. Managed to get my first 12 wins last night and it was with Druid!
Got close with shaman at 10 wins, but struggling a lot with warlock so far. Warlock really needs a better hero power upon release so fingers crossed 🤞

The guys who make their money promoting a game seem to like it? Must be good then....
I'm an absolute garbage deck builder in general so I promise if you are looking for that first Warlock win I can help you with that.

I played it over 15+ hours.
