Man, i like it a lot, the only 2 things that i hate about it:
- they didnt make it possible to duel a friend
-i hate that the try hard guys are already ruining it, it's same decks over and over now, with same starts, those 15 cards are handpicked in the way you would make a legit deck and not for fun... I mean you can do so many crazy shit and have fun.... But people are nuts about rating...i hope when heroic duels come this will change, the try hard guys will go there and leave the fun for the others on normal duels.
About what i like about it is that it can go bat shit crazy if when youre lucky you know what to pick to make it WILD.
Card collection and deck-building skills are more or less irrelevant. It is all about high-rolling on those first treasures. Right now, playing Warrior, I picked Wax Rager as a treasure and later I was offered Totem of the Dead, for an immortal, endlessly reproducing 5/1...my next 2 opponents gave up on t5 after realizing what is going on....
dude, 1 bad xp doesnt make the game mode trash. HS is a game with RNG, and you cant get away from that. If we applied your logic to Standar mode, then the whole game sux.
You dont need a big collection to play it either. Bad luck jhappens in card games, but you dont writew off the whole game cuz pof it.
It is not about 1 good or bad experience. It is that the treasures are potentially so powerful that they essentially define how successful your run is going to be, a lot more than the card buckets or the initial 15 cards.
Apart from that, I think this game mode has tons of potential. At some point in the future we should have for each of the 10 classes 3 different hero powers and 6 different starting treasures to choose from, which should lead to a lot more variety in deck building and more interesting/fun gameplay. But the released version is a bit limited and quickly gets boring/stale
Its fun but lack of any sort of rewards like 10 gold every 3 wins make me to play less of it. I believe when season 1 starts and all 8 old and newer old god cards are usable with new hero powers and treasures, it would be really interesting to make starting decks around them
WAY more enjoyable than battlegrounds IMO. The limited pool kind of nudges new players out of highly competitive play I'd imagine, but overall the concept is great and I think it'll be better moving forward. The lack of hero powers and treasures currently available definitely limit the potential. but it's only going to get better with the full release.
It’s so boring! only played to get my free packs and didn’t touch it again.
Battlegrounds were successful because it involves more than one players. Duels feels like a step back, arena reinvented. You need to pay to get rewards and also buy wild packs if you want to be competitive. I’ll stick to constructive thank you

We don’t have the full mode why would they give u gold for casual play and not even the full mode.

BG is a totally different game though, where this is Hearthstone in some shape or form. Each to their own though I guess
By the third run, having seen almost constant Demon Hunters:
The DH starting treasure definitely needs to be changed. There are only a few classes that can deal with the tempo from 3 big demons for 4 mana, especially early in a run. I will say though I rarely see DH at high wins, recently it's been a lot of Shamans and Mages. Shaman hero power is kinda stupid early too, since they can threaten Bloodlust lethal very easily at little cost and the Totem that casts random spells is way better in this mode because the spell pool is really small and mostly positive.
It's an ok mode. I really didn't like so much the PvE Dungeon Runs, but the way they made it a PvP is actually decent.
The fact you pick the initial 15 cards from your collection is a nice incentive for people with a good pool of rotated cards which don't play a lot of Wild (like myself). The netdeck was expected, but you still can come up with a lot of weird stuff and do relatively well.
HS is currently in a relatively nice spot. All 4 modes of the game aren't crazy fun, but are enjoyable. In my case, I just don't play a lot of Arena cause I suck at it, but switching between Constructed, Duels and Battlegrounds makes my HS experience really nice.
I mean there is really not any reason to play it currently other than to increase ranked number that they are going to reset after this mode is fully released.

You can like or dislike battleground and it is fine. Especially now, battleground is quite unbalance due to elementals and many people can dislike it.
But battleground is a real new game mode. Battleground is a totally new game mode, it is not a dungeon run in pvp like Duels. Calling Duels a new game mode is an heavy word, it is a fake new game mode.
I kinda feel it's not that different than Arena. Competitive mode (Heroic mode) will require 150 gold entrance fee with similar prizes as Arena offers.
I do see it a bit more fun though. Because in Arena you draft the full deck and in this mode you "draft" cards as you go with random treasures on the way. As Arena is the worst game mode in my opinion I don't see that I'll be spending much time playing this mode.
Might be fun in the future and I might change my mind. But now as I tried it I'm really not that impressed. Kinda similar to Adventure solo mode. You think it's fun for some time, you finish it, get all bosses down and never return to it again.
Fun, different, deckbuilding skill oriented, and progressive at that.
Wears out real fast though due the difference in heroes, and more so in minion/spell treasures is too polarized, it's like BG one on one with Queen Togwaggle vs Jandice sometimes. If they get to balancing it as much as they do BGs, we should have a great long-term one. If they keep yogg'ing though, it ain't gonna live long.
Not skill oriented at all stfu
Agreed! There’s nothing skill oriented in hearthstone. If you play black jack you learn from experience and you become better with time but luck ultimately defines if you win or lose.
Now add a sophisticated algorithm to that with regards to who you play against and there you have it
"Nothing skill oriented"
"You get better over time"
Someone needs to learn words and what they mean.

5 out of 10 stars for me... definitely better than Battlegrounds

It's fun. I've been bored in constructed and I hate arena. This seems a nice mix. I like it.

Now that robes was removed, it's my 2nd favorite game mode after normal HS.
