I also beat him first try. Which means I beat him in less tries compared to the bear as I thought he had to die for me to win, turns out I had to kill the trap instead :/
Yeah that was not that intuitive, I thought Rexxar was the one placing that Bear trap! LOL
I agree with this. I mean, usually you have to defeat the opponent to win, so I was like... yeah okay, keep dealing damage to Misha, great... wait... why did I explode?
I got him on 3rd try - didn't draw any hyenas first two tries.
He was dead on Turn 9 like someone earlier said.
I've definitely had more than two attempts on previous bosses / solo content in Hearthstone's history. Does seem silly to make a thread about this one.
Gotta have proactive minions. My first try I mostly just had secrets and Eaglehorn and spells, and made a valiant go of it, but was eventually overwhelmed.
Second try with Hyena and minions? It went pretty decently.
what? It only spams the stupid ship that costs 4 mana, you deal 3 damage with your 2 mana hero power... It was a breeze for me, 1st try. Not sure if serious or just trolling.
This is incorrect. Your hero power at this point is changed to "Deal 4 damage to a random enemy minion". You say it was a breeze for you, but you don't seem to know what the Hero Power was during the encounter? I can confirm that this encounter IS pretty damn hard and it took me a good few attempts (and rage quits) to beat it. But it can be done.
OP: It's basically a tempo match up. What worked for me was to mulligan for the Hyenas that require a secret to summon 2 more 2/2s. Then keep up the tempo and always remove the ships. Use all your Kill Commands to go face as much as possible. If you can whittle him down, he ends up struggling to cope with the pressure. Not an easy match up though for sure.

Hey, no need to be snarky. I know that hero power was to a random minion, but since the guy will always drop a single ship for 4 (!) fooking mana every turn it was not that hard to hit that very minion. Oh, it is 4 damage? Even easier then!
Btw your suggestion to use the Kill Commands to hit face is so bad I can understand why it took you so long. Every resource available including KCs must be used to remove the ships if you want to win.

It wasn't intentionally snarky - my apologies if it came across that way to you - I was merely pointing out the inconsistency in your reply to the OP's problem (which I am sure you'll agree wasn't a very helpful one to him/her as it did not offer any advice on how to actually get past his problem).
In regards to Kill Command, wasting them on the ships (when you have a much more consistent Hero Power) is exactly why I wasn't able to win previously (as that was what I was doing). Realising that the damage needs to go face whenever possible was the key to succeeding. It was only when I realised the importance of getting damage through wherever possible that I was able to succeed in beating the hero.
Took three tries. If you draw poorly and leave a ship alive, you probably won't win. If you draw Power of the Horde and it gives you a 2/2 or 2/3 like it did in my first two games, you probably won't win. The "lul get good" replies are dumb.
...same Problem....after try this stupid boss over 10 times..i see no way...the Stormtaunt Spell sucks..he spam it more than 3 times in EVERY Game!!...
This comment screams virginity and all others like it are part of the virgin flexing squad. The boss is overpowered, everyone has trouble killing him, if you can't answer a question posted in a topic you should go sit in a corner until the urge to type random inane boasts goes away, and no, pretending to be good at an online card game will not get you a non-imaginary girlfriend.
Now, about the actual topic: it has been 5 tries already and there is obviously a problem, since you don't have any heavy hitters, card draw or board whipes. I guess, from what I've read and what can safely assume (and this is what I will continue to aim to do), it's best if you 'try' to cleanup every ship (you can restart if one survives, as this will snowball into more tempo for the enemy), and then try to do as much face damage before the 'eye of the storm' cards come online.
Also, 'if' you can survive those three copies and still have enough to put together a board after that, you 'might' still have a chance. Otherwise, you can safely restart.

And here is how a post from a person who actually played the game looks like. The kid squad had better get back to Fortnite. Thank you, sir!
Hyenas were the keys, thanks
:)
Get good
You have a hero power that deals 5 damage to a minion just clear the ships. First try was easy.
How dare u guys let Misha die? Ouch

After few days hiatus I decided to try to give him a go... and I did beat him!
Got Beastmaster Leoroxx from the hunter pack!

1) control the board
2) early secrets + Eaglehorn Bow + Hyena Alpha worked for me, save the Bow charges
3) Cairne has charge, don't overlook that
Winning try was easy, like 12 turns.
I did beat him on first try. And my brother as well. I only lost to the gronn (damn those ogres he kept spamming on me).

Old topic coming back from the grave
This thread certainly doesn't need to be revived.
