My opponent just did this to me and completely blew me out of the water. I was playing highlander hunter and had a pretty good lead, having cleared his board last turn and developing my own (King Krush included), and still lost on the spot. I didn't really see it coming, when he played polkelt on 6 I was expecting galakrond on 7 with some stuff, but I completely forgot about kronx and flik existing (and even if I did remember, there was not much I could do).
What are your thoughts about galakrond rogue?
Can the deck make it in today's meta? I've seen some stats and it looks like it's tier 4 or non-existent, but the decklists I saw attached to those stats were mostly outdated.
Is that combo enough to revive the deck? Idk, maybe.
How often can you pull it off? I think it's not that difficult, hard mulligan for polkelt, hit some invokes and play him at the right time. Even if you draw some of the big cards before polkelt you should have enough left in your deck to still have a powerful effect.
It’s definitely fun, and against a deck slow enough to let you get there it would probably be fine. But not being able to play a single card on that galakrond turn, as opposed to in the past being able to play all 4, makes a massive difference.
No, the deck is dead, before the nerfs have a bad match vs aggro, after the nerfs is a sure lost, and the meta is so aggro now even a card like glide don't have a chance to see play.
Yeah dude, I've experimented with it several times and it felt solid! I think there's definitely potential, but it's not played atm due to nerfs and other shiny distractions to play with. Definitely a contender though, even with nerfs, it just hasnt been tinkered with to become ridiculous...yet.
I‘m exactly 2 games away from reaching Legend with a Galakrond Rogue deck. Even after so many nerfs, I still felt like using Lt.Eddy’s Golden Galakrond Rogue deck for ladder (with a few substitutions from later expansions). It’s extremely tough, but if I can make it 99% of the way, I can make it all the way!

There’s a word for Zandalari druids who refuse to pledge loyalty to Gonk: “Delicious.”
I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do.......... www.3easypay.com
Yeah well I make 15k a day. Not working at all. I kept hearing how there were these too good to be true bait clicks going around online, so I decided to look into it. Well, it was true and always makes me laugh how stupid you idiots are. This is beyond pathetic...
The meta slowed down considerably after the Druid nerf. There are many slow decks whose sole existence relies on the fact that they are favored against Soul DH. So in such a meta, Galakrond Rogue can definitely make a comeback. It will still not be better than a tier3 deck, but with Face Hunter becoming less popular, it will not get stomped on at least
I've been playing my own variation of Highlander Gala rogue for a while, it's really fun. Definitely not T1 but solid.
Another really good combo is to Togwaggle on T6, Turn 7 play Lorekeeper and then play the 3 mana draw 3 cost 0 card. Gives you 0 mana Alex, Gala and Siamat (or Kronx/Flik if some have been drawn). Massive temp swing, obviously doesn't need to be highlander to work just no alex.

Ever since Polkelt was shown off, I really wanted to make Gala Rogue a thing again. The obvious applications are there, forcing Gala or wand to draw your big stuff, but it's not guaranteed. When you nail the combo it feels great, but I've had a lot of games where I just draw all my big stuff early and get stuck without good plays for a few turns.
Playing against aggro is pretty rough and usually it's the slower decks that this can win against.
I played it a bit for a dozen of games or so today running the old stealth package + 1 sap and polkelt. The deck is still feeling very solid versus almost any deck except druid. I'm not sure it's the best rogue at the moment but it's definitely competitively viable.

Turn 6 Lorekeeper Polkelt, which means turn 7 Galakrond, Azeroth's End drawing discounted Kronx Dragonhoof, Flik Skyshiv and Shield of Galakrond.

Mulligan for polkelt and use your secret passages to pull him turn 5 and beyond if need be.
Also, barista lynchen coming off galakrond for 1 mana add copies of all the battlecries you just played for 1 mana is a feelsgood reload
that deck is long dead when they nerfed the battlecry of galakrond
