Hey everyone, so I decided to vent about my thoughts on BG. I would love to hear all of your thoughts and opinions on the game mode especially with the latest additions to the game. Ive never seen so many posts on BG before on HearthPwn until lately. That alone tells me their is a problem and people aren't happy. (Currently 4500, before patch i was 7200 rating)
Maybe if we get this thread big enough, someone will take notice and do something about it over there at Bliz.
Currently my rating is 4500... So I just played a game before work... was in 1st place 6 rounds straight at 37 hp... played against a high roll archthief with insane Murloc and i took 16 damage.. the very next round I played against a INSANE high roll kalthaes and took 21 from his elementals.. went from 1st the whole game and got eliminated in 7th after the last 2 rounds.. mind you we just got to the 10 coin turn.... WTF!?!?
So now my thoughts on this...
1) the heros don't need to be nerfed except Ragnaros.. +4/+4 is too much especially with elementals.. either make it 30kills or make it +2/+2 or +3/+3, he scales way to fast. all other heros feel fine.
2) Elementals are TOO strong. Their scaling will need to be nerfed bc you can't play anything else if you want to try and win. Nothing scales fast enough to beat them. That divine shield/windfury elemental is out of control broken, he needs to go up a tier to at least 4. Also the 2/2 elemental at tier 2 will need to be nerfed to at least tier 3 in order to slow down the scaling. Then dont even get me started on little rag and nomi (nomi + sellemental)
3) beasts pirates mechs dragons demons are all trash now.. none of these can be played if you want top 3 because its nearly impossible to scale their stats fast enough to keep up with elementals.
I believe the nerf hammer will be dropped soon bc Blizzard will see the stats and realize this soon enough I hope, the game is fresh but IMBA. Its just not fun only playing elementals to win top 3 unless you get lucky.. no more skill in BG, play elementals or get very very lucky (ie selfless heros, parrots and 1/1 poisonous ) *womp womp*

pirates and mech and demon is very shit... and the same with dragon i played a game with dragon i got kaly turn 7 with 38 hp i lost 2 turn later with 20 life on all my dragons vs 2 elements players that just had 30+ on all hes elements
so force elements on 5stars so triple at 4 star since 5 star elemets is just better then all 6 stars
i played 20 games yesterday 17 top 1-2 0 rank 3-4 2 top 5 and 1 top 8...
so with ragaros i just tryed to get cleave or divine shield and i will win from there
and with jandice i will just foce pogo and in non mech i just forced murloc and poison on all
rest of the games i just forced elements i will have its just faceroll to force elements it not even matter if there 4 players do the same since its just who get there first so just power level to 4-5 as fast as you can to get elemets on 5
Their isn't anymore variance to the game.. ita basically who can force elementals first. Might has well get rid of the majority of tribes if thats the case. Judging by what I just read.. theres no point of playing anything else but elementals.. i don't think thats healthy for the game

its not + the mmr reset was just stupid and useless since you just play the game and get it back in no time 300 per game... its just way to feel like its something new but its really just stupid reset for no reason at all
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but there are two very good ways to counter elementals. They don’t handle poison or divine shield well, and the number of weak minions on the battlefield reflects how strong they are. For elementals to actually be any good, they need nomi and lil rag. Without either of them, party elemental just cans boost stats enough. So if you can manage some poisonous divine shields for their at most 4 big guys, you can easily snipe off the weak ones. Murlocs obviously do this easiest, but this is also where selfless hero, the new spore, amalgams and amalgadon are useful. Big dragons with Nadina can also handle elementals pretty well. It is definitely harder if they have gold nomi or rag, but any group with golden t5 minions is good.
i agree pirates are in a poor spot. The tactic of get big when attacking goes down fast with mega windfury. Demons are not as bad as pirates but still not a great choice, but mechs are decent. It’s easier than ever to get gold Mechs, nobody is going for them when the whole lobby is going elementals and murlocs. I have had a few first places thanks to mech/menagerie builds. Gold rivendare, gold parrot and gold bombs are still 48 damage split across the board. Factor in amalgadons with divine shield/poisonous and elementals don’t stand a chance.

wrong you can get divine windfury and since you will most likely have more stats you will kill them atlast 1 for 1
Aside of the nerfs and buffs to some heros (which I do think they need to happen), I think they should increase the base health for every hero so most people won't be dying on turn 9-10. It's really frustrating that you either get lucky around those turns or you simply get annihilated by someone whom actually did.

That’s one minion. Poison murlocs still wreck elementals. If you’re going to complain about killing the other comps strongest minion in a one for one trade, there’s nothing to be said because that’s just salt. What if that divine windfury attacks a gold selfless hero to burn their divine? Stack divine on poison, run a full poison crew. Elementals have to run at least one if not two or three weak minions to make strong minions and they also need a rotating spot. Even at full online best comp, they are fighting with a 5 or 4 strong minion team with 2 or 3 support. Now if they have gold rag and gold nomi, good luck, but that’s the same if murlocs had gold brann or dragons had gold kalecgos etc.
Elementals are broken and nothing is more broken & disgusting than the combination of Al'Akir + Wildfire Elemental on the left + Whirlwind Tempest. This combo can often kill opponents before they can even get to attack.
Poison murlocs are good.. but since there is no more devilsaur how do they beat divine shield? Its a fight to who gets the selfless heros, parrots first. Judging by this thread so far and everyone saying elementals or divine shields... it's safe to say only a couple of comps work to win. All other are trash.. aka the mode is now IMBA.
There's lots of small balance changes they could do with Elementals.
Lil Rag and Majordomo Executus could effectively swap abilities. The Executus effect is worse, so if that's what has the elemental, but and the +x/+x is now on the non-elemental, that's a minor balance nerf. It'd also be thematically nice, since Lil'rag would now target the leftmost minion, like big Rag.
Another easy direction is doing a Mama Bear/Goldrinn sort of thing, where some tavern tiers are swapped. What if Nomi is now a Tier 6, but Garr or Djinni gets weakened and brought down to Tier 5? That slows down the super-scaling of Elementals, to a pace a lot closer to Dragons.

I think if they swapped the current t5 and t6 elementals, it would be a disaster. Elementals hinge on finding nomi or rag as a triple reward, usually as an upgrade from a t4 golden triple on turn 6. Garr and Djinni just don’t boost stats of squishy minions and party elemental also falls short. The whole comp is about lil rag and nomi as early as possible.

I believe they do give a s@#$ or they would never release patches or balance changes. They are publicly traded, they must make $$ for their shareholders and keep them happy.. If players stop playing and spending $ that would be bad for their balance sheets.

Blah... got to 9k during initial day on conceding except for Jandice/Mechs or Ragnaros. Game is utterly broken atm...

You find them so late, by then you are already dead to some of the other comps that just work so fast.
