To be honest, i was excited for the new game mode announcement but still waiting. The game has just got so boring. I used to love this game but now i feel Runeterra has taken over for me. I just wanted to put my 50 pence in. Feel free to rant here :P
Hmm, I'm loving ducking in for a few standard games. Playing a lot of Tempo mage, lots of choices so it's interesting to play. Though I know the randomness annoys some others that can't get that it's just a tempo deck. Loving battlegrounds, had to learn a lot to do well. Finally admitted to myself that it's a losing strategy to start with elementals and try to high roll into them. It's best to play Tempo in BG then pivot to elementals with a luck Rag, etc. Overall happy with the game. but it did change enough that I had to relearn it. I think some people who once they become experts in one subset of the game get confused that they are no longer experts, and then start complaining because they forgot they were supposed to switch back to learning mode and expected just to win.

Why are u commenting on Battlegrounds? It's a different game. If u think its just a game mode then why not state your opinion on Arena mode?
I honestly just do a Battlegrounds game once in a week. I would love to have a game mode or expansion merge like we did before, putting old expansions in standard.
Constructed just feels....I dunno...dated? these days. It needs an overhaul, or perhaps hearthstone 2?...who knows.
I still play a few games but it feels slow and like I've seen it all before. Too many reprints and rejogging of the same ideas. Power Creep delivering the same experience as you used to get, but in faster games players have less influence over. The turn timer is too long and decks are either too fast and powerful, too swingy and powerful or too RNG heavy and powerful.
Battlegrounds still feels great to me though and keeps me logging in on the regular- and Arena is still and always was a fairer, more fun mode than constructed. Its just that I don't feel I can get value playing there anymore and also the rewards are packs which I care less and less about.
i complete my quests and thats it actually... not caring about rank and desperately waiting for the new game mode... hope it will be worth the wait and wont dissapoint.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
It doesn't hold the magic for me that it used to. I hit legend for the first time not too long ago, and for some reason that was the beginning of it starting to feel a bit blah for me. I think I had it in my head that legend was the pinnacle, like beating your favorite videogame finally. The replayability is there, but I am just not as in to it as I once was. I find myself logging in and seeing I have three quests incomplete and not giving a shit. I find myself quitting after one game, win or lose, to go do something else.
For me, Hearthstone is always great for about 10 days of an expansion, and then really stale... Luckily I work lots, so I only expect about 30 games a week, so it's fine for me... I'd probably be fine paying for them to squeeze in an extra expansion every year.
it's been feeling stale everytime since frozen throne and it's done so faster every expansion after that. stuff just gets figured out 2 weeks in maximum and is stale for 3 months after that until the next expansion comes out. then it's maybe a month of fun again and stale the rest, repeat ad nauseam
True. Standard is somewhat boring. Only argos and smallish cards. No variation.
Given a class, only a few aggro achi-types of deck works, any other combinations are auto-lose, so there is no much deck variations.
You need to have 22+ cards <= 3 mana to stay alive, and your deck design becomes so restricted.
I played much less these days, not even bother to open packs, since new cards mean nothing to deck building.
Anyway, my comments is becoming salty :P~~~
Edit:---
I think I should mention the story-mode on heros. It is a good idea to add content like this. However, the problems are it is too in-frequent, it is completely non-competitive and the reward is too few.
Come to think of it, the story delivery approach is also very restricted, lack of imagination, completely dominated by the broad. These may be due to a sticky mindset into old game mode + too strong a balancing issue. Looking at other online games, there is much less "rich-poverty" divergence, so that MUCH MORE game content can be delivered without worrying about painful game balancing. Daily quests / Weekly quests can have storylines with developments and growth. Too much concern about Nerf? Buff? WR? Ranking? There should be much more dimensions for a good card game.
Players are leaving and why? The dev should be able to read it :- Your game dimensions are so restricted and only attracted a niche set of aggro competitive players to stay. BG saved you a bit, but content delivery is still very restricted by the competitive model.
There are a large preference variations among potential HS players, and dev fails to analyze that and to attract them to stay. The lack of game dimensions does not hold the player spectrum you deserved, in terms of not leveraging on so many years of world-view content on cards and very deeply characteristic hero setups.
This is such a waste. :P~
That said, I agreed HS2 is something needed and the dev needs to open their mind completely on that. This is a risk you have to take :P~
I also think constructed is a bit stale. I still play, but mostly for quests.
Two formats I've been playing with friends and loving have been "homebrew arena" and "sealed draft".
With homebrew arena, we use an app to do an arena-type draft. We chose cards from the same choices simultaneously and don't let each other know our picks. Then play deck vs. deck for a best of 7. It's fun to see the different choices we made and, of course, complain about RNG.
Even more fun is doing sealed draft. We used Tempo Storm's sealed draft tool to form a pool of cards. From that same pool, we each form 3 decks and play a tournament. Again, very fun to see the different directions we each took in making decks and what proved most effective.
Lately I've been having much more fun with those limited formats that force a new set of decisions (which cards to put together) each time you play.
In virtually every expansion 4 or 5 classes are playable (each with 1-2 viable decks), while the others simply don't exist in the meta. Because of this, there are usually approximately 8-10 (nearly identical) decks in the rank pool and you have to face them over and over again, which is bloody boring! Blizzard is the one to blame for it, since they can't balance their own game and ensure, that each class is playable at top meta level.

I'll have you know that my time spent alone crying in the dark has no correlation to how much I play/enjoy Hearthstone.
Still having fun with HS, though I would prefer if Face Hunter got toned down a bit. That's my only real complaint.
Shit game full of connection issues, all they care about is BG or making bundles
yeah, we all know by now, that you don't like hs atm. can you stop cryin in every thread that is out there?
More nerfs are needed IMO to Hunter, Paladin, Magw and Warrior. Having 3 classes in the 45% range is unacceptable.

I agree with everything else u just said
Currently I am trying to sell my hs account ony play to complete quest etc

Well, wild is an aggro shitfest kinda similar to always.
Take a walk on the wild side...

Dudes, we are in month 3 of an expac and it's only starting to get stale...that's pretty good.

True. Gotta have some perspective, constructed is always dull this deep into a cycle.
