Wrenchcalibur is such a stupid card. The variance of its outcomes is so extreme. Best case is sixteen+ face damage for four mana, which is insane, and worst case is a fiery war axe.
It's the kind of card that always makes one of the players feel cheated and I hate the design.
Oh how you must suffer against all the casino mage and thief priests right now....
I'd prefer strategy based decks over RNG hiroll stupidity any day.
Apart from hero Reno and priest galakrond I don't see much high roll in either of those classes, and those cards come out late. It's all fine.
But you're right, there's zero strategy to bomb warrior, it's just keep swinging the stupid wrench and hope your dumb ass bombs come up, and it sucks.
At least mage and priest do things with rng and spice the game, warrior is watching paint dry - other than classic enrage, it's more unfun than priest and highroll druid combined.
Out playing your opponent only to lose to random generated trash sucks. Any time I win like that I feel dirty. I’ve been trying to brainstorm non rng based mage decks but mage cards are bleh right now and the only mage deck that fairs well against the meta right now is rng tempo mage
I'm not against they playstyle; I think slipping unwanted cards into your opponents deck could be a lot more interesting; but when they add a card like wrenchcalibur they need to add a card(s) that counters it's effect, even if the counter card has a downside like turning all cards that didn't start in your deck into 1/1's or something. The only cards I can think of in standard that counter are Rafaam (which is too much disruption even if it is fun) and and maybe Wyrmrest Purifier (maybe this was the intended counter but it's far too disruptive and is the bomb even a neutral card?). I know aggro counters it but I hate this notion that if a certain deck is prevelant then you should have to play a hard counter and be happy.
Are you talking about every aggro deck? Yes, they are braindead, no skill and uninteractive. But Blizzard loves fast games and no skill, so complain to them, not on a website they will never visit.
Well, if you're a standard player then you won't have to suffer much longer. I've been playing priest lately with a strategy to mulligan for weapon removal and Madame lazul or thoughtsteel just to get my own wrenchcalibur too.
Other than that once I no longer have to worry about their board impact, I just keep my hand full with galakrond, play 1 card and hero power. They just end up conceding... But it's quite fun to watch.
With that said, there are enough techs to counter weapons, just getting lucky enough to get them in your mulligan is your point.
PS. Never managed to get zephrus in my mulligan when playing bomb warriors.. ever.. so the card is dead to me. :P
Been facing a lot of bomb warrior on ladder lately and just wanted to get some opinions on this get and specifically, wrenchcalibur. Personally, I think the card is really silly and one dimensional. The deck is just about getting 4 wrenchcaliburs and buffing them until your opponent just gives up. I believe this card needs to be changed to deathrattle. What do yall believe? Is it a one dimensional deck of is it just me
There's nothing wrong with one-dimensional decks. Some of the most powerful decks in this (and many other card games) are one-dimensional. That's often what makes them so good; they do one thing, but they do it very very well. Often, trying to do too many different strategies in a deck can be detrimental to its strength. This is all part of understanding how good deck building works (and is something hard to perfect; I often find myself trying to incorporate too many different win conditions in a deck for example).
As for Wrenchcalibur, yes it's one-dimensional. That's why it is a good card. It has a singular function. Send damage to the opponent in a couple of ways. By dint of happenstance, it also has the added technicality that it works well against singleton decks - but that is far from its primary purpose. If you're struggling against it, then look for ways to heal/armour up. If that's literally not a possibility for your deck, then it may have to simply be one deck archetype that naturally stomps on your deck du jour.

TL:DR Interesting playstyle, needs more counters.
There are several counter cards that remove weapons and one that even steals your opponents weapon. And of course the cards you mentioned above. There are plenty of counters. Get good and be less salty.
Bomb Warrior was huge a few expansions ago, and then it disappeared until now. How can a card that has been available for so long, suddenly become oppressive? The card hasn't changed. Maybe it's the deck you're playing?
It has so many techs, it's not even worth mentioning. The card is fine. It's made to counter decks that over draw. if it's really that big of an issue, tech, or try a control deck.
i crafted two kobold stickyfingers.. for a rogue/warrior meta, it feels safe and good to play them in all my decks nowadays
The moment you put 2x kobold in your deck %60 of your opponent will be priest and %20 mage in matchmaking, the moment you remove them you will get a bomb warrior as your first match :-)

That's funny, because after I added it to my deck, I stole a Spectral Cutlass, a Wrenchcalibur and (man, did this feel good) a heavily-buffed Kingsbane in a single evening of playing. Blizzard must like me more than you.
Or, just a crazy idea here, maybe it really IS random and you're just a victim of the relentless conspiracy-mongering that this place is overrun with.

Even Priests and Mage have access to weapons (or at least, weapon singular) right now; though obviously it is usually only Mage that runs it in a deck, but Priest can too. In fact, I reckon there's a good combo priest deck waiting to happen right now. :-)

I tried multiple times to make Dragon Soul work. But the combo to fill you board with 5/5s every turn is just too demanding, and even if combined with Awaken the Makers, it's far from gamewinning. I did win a few games with it, but it's more like 1 out of 10 games where everything works out perfectly. Maybe someday, there's a neutral weapon tutor or a more efficient way for Priest to draw cards. Both seem unlikely for the time being.

He is, I believe, referring to Sphere of Sapience, not Dragon Soul. And I could absolutely see someone coming up with a priest combo deck using it.

Card is totally fine and does not need a nerf, you can just put in couple counter cards and the weapon will become useless, there is like atleast 6 cards that removes weapons why dont you add them?

Bomb Mechanic is good but this specific weapon is too oppressive since it also counters singleton decks and has no downside.
needs a nerf to 5 mana, it will slow everything down (the upgrades, shuffles, singleton counter) and make it balanced.
Are you talking about every aggro deck? Yes, they are braindead, no skill and uninteractive. But Blizzard loves fast games and no skill, so complain to them, not on a website they will never visit.
Is it possible that when you are losing a game you are coming here to cry for nerfs?

Arch-Villain Rafaam
I eat Bomb warriors alive
What the game needs...and has needed for a LONG time...is a weapon silencing card.
